    Awesome video sir. Me and my wife are about to try and reserve a campsite for July as we usually use our PTO in July. I was wondering if the campsites are equipped with a grill to cook on or is it just a fire pit? And could you bring your own grill to cook on? Was looking online at the park maps & they show concessions, so I'm assuming that ice is readily available for purchase? Thanks for this review. We are almost 4 hours away from that place & your video helped me decide that it's gonna be worth the drive😎.

      That’s awesome! I love the Lake James. We just got back from camping at Hurricane Campground in Sugar Grove, VA. If you have never been it is a nice place to check out. Thank you for checking out the video and subscribing!

    Thanks for showing. Can you pound in tent stakes in those pads or is there concrete under the gravel? Where do you get the firewood? How do you check in upon arrival? Any other tips? Appreciate your help.

    • @survivingonadventure1641
      @survivingonadventure1641  3 года назад

      Thank you for checking out our video! The tent pads are just compacted gravel so it was easy to pound in tent stakes. The camp hosts came around in the evening to sell firewood for $5 (cash only) a bundle, and you can also check in with them at that time. The sites at the end of the cul-de-sac were more spread out. The space between sites is great for extra privacy however it was a bit of a walk to the bathroom. If you plan to go fishing do bring your own bait, there was no where close to the campsite to purchase live bait. Please feel free to share our video and don’t forget to subscribe so you can keep up with our future camping adventures.

    Was the Water view from your campsite? Such a great video...thanks!

      Thank you for watching the video! We could not see the water from our campsite, but there was a trail at the back of our site that went straight to the water and it was a short walk. The main part of the lake with the swimming area, restrooms, and boat rental area was not far away from the camping area. We choose to drive to that area but you could also walk if you didn’t have much to carry. Overall I highly recommend Lake James for camping.

    Looking at a trip to Lake James. How safe is it to leave your campsite unattended for most of the day while fishing?

    • @survivingonadventure1641

      We felt very comfortable leaving the campsite to go hiking and fishing during the day. We always try to put anything super valuable in the car but there was a camp host and park rangers that were very active while we were there so we felt very comfortable leaving the site.

    I watched your other video setting up the Teton XXL cot.....how'd it work out for y'all?
    We live out here in Utah and have camped at a few campgrounds like that, now we're going to go way out to the little grand canyon here in Utah. I just bought a Kodiak Canvas truck tent.
    I've been out there on four wheelers......it is absolutely beautiful and quiet!
    We also purchased a 10×14 Kodiak Canvas tent with two Teton XXL cots, we recently went camping up in the LaSalle Mountain National Forest.

      So far the cot has been amazing. I was using an air mattress and it never stayed inflated all night but the cot is really comfortable. I had a little trouble getting the cot set up in the video but I didn’t read the instructions to see how to use the little red piece but now that I have it figured out it goes together really easy. Thank you for checking out our video, we have a lot more camping related videos on the way so feel free to share and subscribe if you haven’t. And let us know how your little Grand Canyon trip goes, it is something we have always wanted to do!!

      @@survivingonadventure1641 I posted a couple of videos on my channel of a campground we stayed at and a video of The San Rafael Swell, The Wedge(Little Grand Canyon). I live about 30 miles from that.

      @@survivingonadventure1641 I kinda snickered when I saw you put it backwards on the cot, but that was only because I had already put mine together, I did the same thing.......I was waiting for the sweat to flow.☺️. My wife asked me if I followed the directions, sometimes wives can make us look like dorks. I just subscribed to ya.....do the same. My wife and I will be camping at the wedge soon, I have a few car shows that I am entering.
