- Top characters chosen by players to be used in spiral abyss 3.8.
This list is average of floor 11 and floor 12 only. It is to make it more accurate and understand which characters are more used in this cycle for the specific monsters.
It doesn't consider Floors 9 and 10 as they are always the same monsters and characters in each cycle which made the list a bit monotonous and doesn't reflect changes in teams based on specific ley line disorders and enemies. without these floors, we can actually see which characters are more or less used.
However, this list does not rank characters on "power" or "damage", but more on characters that players used more than some other characters which can complete 36 stars in 3.8 cycle of Spiral Abyss. As a result, this list will keep changing with each abyss reset as each reset beings new monster lineup and different ley line disorders which are favorable to certain characters and unfavorable to other characters. That is why we can see some characters used more than others. It is also entirely possible that in future abyss cycles, the lower characters will rise up and popular ones can be lower.

tbh i think Nahida will never stop appearing in the abyss characters tier lists because of how insanely useful and powerful her kit is, she's just incredibly usefull with so many element combos that i doubt she will ever get lower than top 5 characters, especially at higher constellations since all of hers are downright cheating by how pwoerful they make her
Srlsy nahida is just too strong rn, i need someone that can replace nahida. Considering baizhu can be good
but she's ugly that's the main downside

So the tsaritsa will for sure have something about crit rate

I’m never a huge fan of playing child characters, but my God Nahida’s story and gameplay are super good. She’s worth more than I ever thought

Prefer playing as tall males/females and hopefully Gigachads (Varka/Capitano)
Raiden is the reason I started completing abyss with complete stars. After her release, 36 stars is ease. After nahida is added, my abyss journey became a breeze. Both of them are c0 and do great! Archons are really strong lore and gameplay wise. I'm not surprised Venti managed to got in the list. Even though he is the first 5 star character, he is still going through. Zhongli still the same good at protecting
Thats because venti is polarising. His burst either trivialises a fight or it does nothing.
Id say mihoyo has done a pretty goodnjob at balancing the characters. Theres a bit of power creep but for the most part it goes sideways and just opens up more styles of play the more characters they release, which is a good thing

I’m speculating that Hoyoverse’s only way to make Focalors be more valuable than our top characters in the Abyss is through Ousia/Pneuma mechanic. Once we’re done in Fontaine (when Natlan is here) where Ousia/Pneuma is a thing of the past, that’s gonna be the true measure of Focalor’s usefulness.

Giving how stacked the hydro roster is, they have to find a way to make the hydro archon stands out. On business side of thing, this move made sense.

Happy to see baizhu in top 10, i think he’s extremely underrated
Yeah, Baizhu is basically a Dendro Zhongli, makes you invulnerable but also can cause reactions.
Baizhu is a freaking walking statue of seven because his healing is insane. Right now my Baizhu is with 47k HP and his skill is crowned so his healed is 13k . Not mention he healed a whole team
because the abyss usage isn't a good measure of meta? baizhu is one of the least owned 5* characters and almost everyone who simps for him uses him. it doesn't mean he's meta.
he's the absolute best dendro unit for aggravate teams because he allows you to run an electro carry, fischl, and kazuha all on one team. his power comes from his usefulness just like kokomi in a freeze team@@rii2448

Incredible to see that Kokomi is not that useless character that they said she was, now with dendro and permafrost she has become one of the best characters in the game. I am so proud of her.

She was good from the start, serious theorycrafters said they were good. But vape metaslave couldn't crit on her and got upset. She was one of the very best reaction DPS from the get-go

Kokomi was OP since released, easy to build so F2P friendly and her hydro application and healing are out lf this world. People who got upset at her not fitting vapes (only vapes) and "NoT cRiTtInG" were apes even to the point of harrassing the VA's. She didn't even become crazy because of her new set since in most teams she runs tenacity so that means she always has been a must.
Hehe I knew Baizhu won't disappoint. Despite the lukewarm welcome for him I still believed he'll be a very useful character. Lo and behold he did make it. Love him to bits . 💕

Baizhu isnt even bad. Still baffles me to this day with the intelligence of these guys. Every character they said was bad turned out to be good.

Eula's meta team being hyperbloom is funny as fuck 💀
pretty interesting really, dendro doest have reaction with cryo but apparently because elemental gauge theory, cryo have uses for elevating dendro reaction in fridge team, maybe an oversight from hoyo which is a welcome surprise for us XD
Eula being added to the Hyperbloom Team is a meme. You can clear the abyss with the other 3 alone, Eula'a only contribution is her personal damage. Luckily for her, Hyperbloom has an electro character that can trigger superconduct making her personal damage not so bad.

Shogun wasn't dominating the 2.x cycles as hard Nahida in 3.x, shogun was usually 3rd following Bennett/Kazuha, but in Nahida's case it feels like she's been glued on that no.1 spot for multiple cycles now.
Shogun team mostly put her as main dps/nuke, while nahida are mostly support damage, she chain all the damage, and also raise em, heck she still there even to support ei team
Nahida is just too good in v3.2 and above. I hope that Furina will change the meta in v4 if the pattern goes on. Not a big fan of Furina's design but I will still get her regardless cause I like collecting Archons 😅😁👍

now that patch 3.X abyss has concluded, I took my time to watch the 1.X abyss meta. So unreal that there was a time where qiqi and klee has higher usage rate than xiangling. We have come so far lmaoo
also venti and zhongli absolutely dominated the 1.X abyss meta. same with ei in 2.X and nahida in 3.X. i am very excited on what furina would bring on the 4.X abyss meta

Even though I've taken a break from those abyss due to how annoying they've been lately, I still like to keep up on the usage data. Hands down Nahida is the best unit produced since Sumeru's debut, but Nilou bringing a whole new style to building teams and doing damage is probably a sign of things to come.

Nahida, the inbeatable queen :3 👑 (i don't know what they are going to do in fontaine, but i see it complicated to beat nahida's powerlevel)
it's also no other Dendro units can compare with her, hydro has 3 or 4 other top tier units so we'll see how the hydro archon fits in with those
they need to make a four star version of nahida. not all of it. just her consistent dendro application. like xingqiu with hydro and xiangling with pyro. there is no dendro version, with the closest being collei and traveler, but their uptime is too low. that's the only way nahida will have any competition.
@@Yusuf-ke5iu the traveler is pretty close in hyperbloom teams, also yaoyao is pretty good for bloom. (no one is as good as nahida but are "close"). Xingchiu and xiangling are not good examples, they both are broken (xingchiu apply more hydro than yelan and xiangling doesn't have icd xd)

Nahida is my favourite character personality, design- and lorewise as well. I'm so happy for her!
Even though I'm using her as a sub dps, I still wanna make her my only triple-crowned character! I have her talents at 8-10-8 already.
Surprised to not see tighnari here considering he’s 2nd best dendro dps (after althaitham ofc) also zhongli being the only geo character in this list is so sad😭
That’s to be expected. Geo sucks. Crystallize sucks. also, Zhongli is high up in the list because of his shield/kit, not exactly because of his element. Geo (and Physical) are the worst in Genshin.

It feels weird seeing Bennett still so high based on primarily his f11 usage since he was a lot less popular for f12 this time around due to two semi unfriendly floors to him (hence why Nilou shot up more).
Side 1 of floor 12 has a pyro lector and rifthounds which either Bennett can't deal with unless he's on a team with double hydro, or where his burst vulnerability is punished due to electro rifthounds. There's also the elemental auras of the eremites+fatui on chamber 3 which also punish vulnerability (and Bennett can't cleanse hydro debuff).
Side 2 of floor 12 also punishes vulnerability a fair bit, especially the herd, if you dont burst them down enough.
Baizhu is OP, people should stop sleeping on him. His heals are so great that even lvl 100 consecrated beasts (3.7 abyss 12-3-1) looked easy and he also boosts damage.
Fr I thought the community will hyping him up since he's like Kokomi but w much more to offer and saw how many ppl waited for him but NO the hype just lasted until his banner end and literally no one talking about him In the next day. He's seriously needs more attention :((
@@gloenigmahe isn’t popular because he isn’t a waifu. but that’s ok he isn’t hyped up. i’m just happy his usage rate is relatively high. baizhu is such a great teammate. if people sleep on him, let them. i don’t want many people to have him. *i like that he is rare.* makes him more special.
He's fine, far from OP though due to lacking any sort of AoE coverage compared to every other Dendro. As far as healing goes he's not that impressive either as his healing pretty much around the same as Jean.

I have and built both. He is literally the most comfortable unit i had for my aggrevate/spread teams.
@@sweetillusions5495 jean C0 heals entire team via Burst with heavy 80 energy cost. baizhu C0 heals entire team via Skill with 10 seconds cool down. usage of Skill is more frequent than Burst. being able to heal entire team via Skill is more useful. if you equip Baizhu with Sac Frags, you can get double use of Skill. if you have C1 Baizhu, that’s gonna be more instances of healing via Skill. and that’s just his Skill. his Burst heals too. Jean’s healing is limited only to her Burst (and with tiny healings through her passive via normal attacks). I also have both Jean & Baizhu fully invested & built. Baizhu as a healer is more comfortable to use and heals better.
Seeing my baby dominating the spiral abyss makes me so happy, tho a bit sad that her usage might go down a bit once version 4.0 comes out
i wasn’t able to get baizhu the first time because i was saving for kazuha, but i love building healers so i can’t wait for his rerun
Fischl is going to be giga busted with the new leaked set and kokomi yelan and Hu Tao are probably going to become more broken if there is another hp buffer or set in Fontaine which probably will be.
nah hu tao wont be busted. focalors hp drain can kill her so she will have to use her normal yelan + xq + zl team which is not going to be great in the abyss cuz of ousia and pneuma mechanics.
@@adskygla3736ousia and pneuma will be hoyoverse’s tools to sell Fontaine’s new characters. the abyss will be heavily laden with ousia and pneuma mechanics that will render many old characters less useful. and that’s how Furina and other Fontaine characters will dominate 4.X abyss cycles. But I wonder how Fontaine’s characters remain useful after 4.X updates are over where Ousia/Pneuma mechanics are not prevalent anymore.

Instead of saying 25 times floor 11 and 12, which became very hard to read and picture after a while... How about a small graphic of the abyss? With the floors and halves shown and you highlight where in it they are used instead.

me who's used the same 2 teams and 8 characters since 2.7: interesting... dendro continues to be overpowered. who would have thought?
I've been bruteforcing most of abyss with Childe, Ayaka and Kaeya reverse melt but my heart was won over by Alhaitham's personality (and abs) and just had to get him. Now I rotate between those four teams, no Nahida or Raiden needed.

this survey had a tiny sample size of only around 500 and is unreliable, the one with a 84534 sample size had Nahida as first, Kazuha as second, Kokomi as third.
