The moment when you realise a dedicated three bay truck garage just isn't big enough! Wonderful looking at those old rigs, once someone's pride and joy.
Ya know, Mark, I've gotta thank you. You have re-awakened in me the love for big trucks that I had as a kid. These on-the-hunt episodes allow me to see a lot of the same trucks I used to watch drive by every day when I was growing up in the early 1980s. It's a bit little bittersweet to see them rusting apart, but I sure am enjoying the memories. I also greatly enjoy seeing you wrench on them, bringing them back to life little by little. Thank you kindly!
Absolutely LOVE these episodes! We are spoiled drivers today with all the comforts we have in todays trucks! Old time truckers are a rare breed indeed! Thanks for another walk through history!
Happy & Sad. Happy to see all these beautiful cabs and sad to see the shape they are in today. Used to see all those shiny truck cabs lined up in truck stop parking lots, but now they are all lined up in old faded field yards. Thanks You for bringing them back on memory lane Mark
These old trucks remind me of my childhood. My grandpa would pick me up on his way through to California and I’d ride with him there and back during the summer.
Peterbilt switched to hinged door handles around’74 on their conventionals. That is probably a 74 to 78/9 cab. Corvette dash came out to mass market in ‘79.
Wow this is the best junkyard you've taken us to so far! Love that old early 70's White Western Star, definitely the truck I would restore if I had the means to do it. It's hard to find one of those Autocar "Drivers Cabs" that White used on them that's not thoroughly rusted out. I wish we could have seen the blue Kenworth cabover headlight area, that would have made it easier to narrow down a range for the year. The early 60's 500 series cabover had that large wiring access panel like this one under the driver's side windshield @ 24:01, but they had the cab skirt behind the front wheels which this one lacks. It was cool to see that one and the White Freightliner with intakes that went through the cab, that was definitely early 60's designs for them. Peterbilt had the intakes that ran down through the passenger side front of the sleeper on a lot of the 352 cabovers right up til '81 which was their final year. Glad to see you found all of those cool parts for the Duke!
Even with the cabovers, they were using every inch of length back then, because of the length laws. That’s why Peterbilt cabovers taper forward at the upper rear of the cab. It’s so the trailer can be pulled up tight to the tractor, and the top of the trailer won’t hit the tractor when it starts up hill. Take care and Happy New Year.
The White redi-mix truck caught my eye. I have a 65, Cummins powered, former single axle tractor (now a dump box installed). It has the same trans setup and I use it to pull tag trailer for hauling my vintage equipment. It can be seen on my channel. Thanks for the video. The sad part is when properties like this get sold and “cleaned up”.
Awesome stuff. Those Diamond T’s were sweet rigs. Really can’t go wrong with a Hercules Engine! In 67 White merged Diamond T and REO to create Diamond REO.
There are a bunch old cool trucks I love how they smell inside cabs many many years of service reduced to a pile of junk sitting on a graveyard I would like to tour places like this.
yep ww2 4 ton chassis so probably 968 cargo trucks originally. they are a holy grail for parts specially the cabs and the air vents etc shame there not here in the UK as they would help mine and many other peoples projects along no end.
26:07 I believe that's a KW 523, they predate the K100. A nice running driving 69 K100, aluminum frame, small torsion bar, 8V-71, twin stick, working rooftop A/C with 700k miles sold at auction two months ago here in Idaho for a measly $4200.
@@MidwestSteven1 I've been a truck mechanic since 1968 & for some reason believed there was another cabover between the 523 Bullnose & the K100 cabover. That intake stack in the cab sure is an odd duck, It'd be interesting to see the vin # on that truck!
Forget Netflix and Hulu, I could binge-watch these "On the Hunt" videos all day!! Wish I could've seen the GM fishbowl buses next to the K100 you found. Keep up the great work TwinSticks!
Nice trip really liked that Dodge 800 at least think it's an 800. Plus GMC Astro conventional really nice those old Ford cabovers really nice. Man you must pee your pants seeing all that old stuff. That REO holy cow really nice trip thank you so much.
I would be like a Kid in a candy store. Wow..Its a Shame too see them all setting there rotting away...Would love to find any of them to restore. If I was a Billionaire...LOL..HAHA..Thank You for taking us along. It has too be a pain to be looking and filming at the same time. I Thank You.. Great Video Sir. Glad you found some of the parts you were looking for..
Nice finds! I think Wayne (Ol2stroker channel) is restoring a Pete cabover with an integrated air intake sort of like what you're looking at. Basically works exactly like you described: has a rubber boot that seals the intake pipe to the top of the Donaldson filter housing when the cab is down. Keep up the good work, Mark.
Watching these videos makes me feel old because I can remember seeing the shadow lines 352, the super liner next to it and the cascade carriers cab over on the road back in the day!
Wow even if it was only for a brief moment the diamond reo mixer truck brought back memories from my early twenties when I first got hooked on iron, the company I worked for had one of there first mixer truck(Diamond Reo)that they turned into a flat bed only drove it a couple times thank god it was not fun to drive a little wore out,but they had taken off the mixer part and put in the bone yard where I looked over it many times wondering what it must of been like to operate, always wondering what ever happen to it over the years, thank you for the flash back👍
Mark I love watching your videos and love semis and love little by little and smokey and the bandit and high balling yours truly lane roll on mother trucker
Man if that old iron could talk. Love the old trucks, nothing like bare bones trucking. I still remember the day I opened the door on an old 1949 Kenny. My 1961 Kenny was in the shop. Oh, talk about an all steel ride. There was no such thing as creature comforts. That Armstrong steering sure helped to get bigger pipes. Hand bombed a lot of the loads on and off. That air conditioner worked real good at sixty miles and hour, it just took you a couple of days to get there. Now a computer chip will leave ya stranded by the road.
My dad had one of those old Chevy Step vans. It was an air force van that he converted into a motor home. We drove all over Alaska, Yukon and BC with it when I was growing up. Seeing that van sure triggered some memories
Hey Mark, just a thought, you should get that Mack superliner sitting next to the Pete 352, and another movie truck you should do is Yellow Bird from Christmas comes to Willow Creek. It's a gorgeous Freightliner FLT.
My 74 Pete had those same doors. They switched from the unilite style in 72. Love the on the hunt video's. Graveyards like that don't exist by me anymore. Those yellow one's looked like diamond t's from the late 30's
So the trailers you came across with the door on the side what you could do is buy 1 of those trailers and take that door off and purchase a ribbed panel and theirs your Snowman Smokey and the Bandit trailer Once again Thank You for another Great Video this Thursday Morning 🌄 have a great day and Happy New Year
Wooooooooo hooooo..... love these vids true I do!!...I drove a GMC general like the one in the beginning....mine was a 79 with a 13 spd in er....loved driving it. Told you to get a six bay shop 😂😂😂. Maybe Mrs Twinsticks can be persuaded to let you 😉😉. Great you found some parts that you needed, so good to see that old iron about. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe 🇬🇧
i see really Junk Yard Gold, a lot off vintage trucks in that field there, good for parts for the Smokey Truck for making him original, and working good...
Thanks for taking us along with you on the hunt . It's always great when you make one of these videos . It's sad to see the old trucks just sitting there rusting away . Wishing you and your family a Happy and Healthy New Year for 2022 . Be careful and stay safe and keep on working on the trucks and making us more videos. As always, Jeffrey !!!

21 minutes that’s a western star bunk! You gotta bring home or of those old stars to put that bunk to use. Freightliner stand up was a perfect flat top usually with two plates from where the guys took off the upper fairing lol

Its Twin Stick day! awesome place you found.
Hello you missed it GMC cab over. Clint Eastwood. Every which way but loose. In the opening of the movie Clint is driving one
You should still buy that pair of 10-hole split ring wheels
I did 😎
My favorite videos on this channel. Like visiting a car show w/ that one old timer who knows everything.
Macht viel Freude zu schauen!
I could watch on the hunt videos all day long, I just love old trucks. Thanks for sharing
Brings a tear to the eye thinking bou t the guys that used to drive when it was tough ,work
Great "on the hunt" episode. Thought I saw a international paystar at one point. Real nice finds. Nice old pick up trucks aswell.
Now that mercury cabover has got to be a gem....I don't think I have ever heard of such a thing...wow !
Hello Mark, i visit them often in 2005 and 2007 when i had a day off. You could walk for hours.
Wartime Ts & Whites were solid machines that built muscles and character... and still had the OD interior!
Happy New Year, TwinStick & Co.
I’m thinking they built patience as well, what with those small engines. Take care and enjoy a Happy New Year.
Awesome stuff. Those Diamond T’s were sweet rigs. Really can’t go wrong with a Hercules Engine! In 67 White merged Diamond T and REO to create Diamond REO.

What a fascinating/sad/beautiful place. Bet those rigs have some stories to tell
16:30 those are Diamond T trucks. Very cool rigs. You don’t see them very often

Dang I just love these "On The Hunt" episodes
Cool
Mark in vintage truck heaven for a day! Plenty of cool sites to view and enjoy. Thanks for takin' us along for the trek.
believe that the red sleeper most likely factory western star bunk
My favorite thing about this yard is how the trucks range from "a few pieces left" to "looks like you could fuel it up and drive it out".
Love the old cabovers wish I had the time and money to rescue one.
Looks like you had a successful parts hunt for The Duke.

The 523 was a conventional, they had a bullnose also named that but this one isn't. I think it's a 1965 k100 or somewhere around there.
@@TwinStix Couldn't afford it, my piggy bank was already emptied into in my 51 Bubble Nose Freightliner (same year as me) & a V-903 Cummins.

Those old trucks you thought were old Whites are old Diamond T military trucks that have been repainted. Those are priceless!
As a frenchie, the most badass truck you ever shown is the 86' black and green extended cab Kenworth of the hunt ep.12!!

I am a truck driver in Brazil I love these videos I would spend the day there cleaning up the mess 👍🏻🇧🇷😂🤣🚚
Always loved those two stack macks with a shack on the back. (Super liner)

Great video! I was digging that Mack Superliner there at end. One of my all time favs. Keep it up Mark!
...and I also noticed the old Redi Mix (RM) orange mixer from Regtina as well.
Awesome on the Hunt,, hope there's pt 2 🤔KEEP ON TRUCKINGGOOD 👍☠️☠️👍
Awesome video thanks just the old iron thanks I could spend hours in there fir sure thanks again
