As far as I can tell on their site, it's only available in a bundle ("with shell") - might be worth reaching out to them directly to see if you can buy it separately.
No one of the YT testers even tried to check the distance those thermals can take for e.g. a person.
Who needs thermal for 20-50m?

thermal resolution is way below dated 720p. i will pass on this as well as many others that are than 720p
It's the best you'll find at this price point. 720p thermal would be in the thousands..

Like watching 360p on an 85" tv. No company able to lower the price down even for SAS.
You are correct it can be very costly.
At the same time I don't want to insert in & out on the USB C port many times.
Because it will wear out the C's contacts so I got ATG Gold connector.
