Heh. I was in Central Park and Times Square on Thursday and saw many of the same things you guys did. Such beautiful weather we're having in the City. Such a joy to ride around.
Just a fyi, tandem is bike built for two. The part on back was probably a trail a bike. Burley company in Oregon made tandems and their version of trail a bike called Piccolo. Fun fact Green Gear bikes aka bike Friday was founded by two former Burley employees. My Burley tandem and bike Friday have same rear triangle design. Burley was sold from coop to single owner. They stopped making clothing and tandems, still make trailers.
Here in SW Ohio, I worry about bicycle paths being turned into bicycle freeways. There are limitations, but that likely will not stop crazy high speeds. E-assist on my Hase Lepus, but I still ride at 7-12 mph. 17 mph is my self-imposed speed limit! For anyone unfamiliar, higher power examples are literally electric motorcycles with bicycle pedals.
That is true. Over a certain speed a bicycle does not behave the same. The bigger electric bicycles I see in the city are more like motorcycles. I don't think there is a way to make everyone happy.
We had this in 1998 to curb congestion to city area in Singapore. We called it ERP (Electronic Road Pricing) and still operating till today. Motorist past thru the gantry will be deducted certain amount of money automatically from a cash card installed at the car IU (In-Vehicle Unit).
People are not using the bike because of the perception of safety so the more bike lanes are installed, the more people use the bike. But if the city doesn't invest in bike lanes, not many people are going to start using the bike as transportation so you don't know how much is used until the city makes the effort of building separated bike lanes. This has been happening in all mayor cities.
The City really needs to better define what constitutes an “e-bike”. A lot of what I see in bike lanes and in the park look more like small motorcycles and are going more than 20 mph. Just my experience.

It does not work here in the UK, people will not give up their cars, they will pay the charges and complain more, the numbers will not go down! Hatred for bike riders using the roads, plus calls for them to be taxed just like cars are increasing in the UK!
You looked so cool on the train with your helmet on. .... 👍
Congestion pricinh is so interesting… cities in Metro Manila should be a good experiment for it. 🇵🇭😁

BFT..best bike video Ever😎
とても綺麗な街並みですね!
自転車乗りたくなりました😊
Allright
I only watch for the cool music 😊
That is if congestion pricing ever truly is enforced. The NYPD is hard core car culture.
They’re going to need more bike parking! Better yet, everyone can ride Bromptons downtown and park their bikes under their desks😁
A cunning plan. 😁

Wow thanks for the info. Interesting to hear about Bike Friday. I love their Tikit model. It has a unique design.

Wow that sounds high tech. I hope this system will work well. Thanks for sharing the info.

I feel the same way. I hope the city looks into providing better infrastructure so regular style bicycles can be safe. It has a long way to go.
Congestion pricing in New York may be necessary (I have never been there).
Great video! What is the name of the seat you have on your T-Line? It looks very comformable
It's a child gel cover. I am testing it out on shorter rides because the carbon seat starts to hurt when I go slow.
@@BromptonFamilyTime I have the same problem with my seat and thought I had to use cycling shorts to ride around town.
Cycling shorts work great, but I don't enjoy wearing them on my city rides in the summer lol.
uh oh fancy transitions
Have you gone in the city for Summer Streets yet?

Many feel the same way here. They think it is just another way to tax people for no reason.
