The problem is that most Publishers/developers don't want to put in the work/money that a Games As A Service title requires. Look at Fortnite; Paragon had to die so Fortnite could get the resources it needed to keep up and look where it is now. Where as something like Avengers the publishers though they could just coast by and collect money off of brand recognition and skins and now it's dead. Hell, even Destiny 2 was in a terrible state in the beginning but Bungie worked on it and literally bought themselves away from Activision just to make a better product. Then look at Babylon's Fall, a $60 GAAS with every monetization scheme possible re-used FF14 assets and zero-effort gameplay; pulled offline in 1 years time.

Yup. Exactly. If you aren’t 110% committed, it’s going to flop guaranteed. But if you are, there are examples of crazy profitable games.

If I was a developer, I would not want to make a Live Service game. We’re experiencing a live service crash with the announcement of so many games going offline because of mismanagement and over saturation.
When you make a single player game, it is practically immortal because you can download it and play it at any time from now and infinity (Unless the storefront you bought it on goes offline decades from now).

Why don't they just follow Rockstar's GTA model for success as far as development and support? Your grandkids will be playing that game. All these new titles come out and are all so amazing at first then the support and new content falls off and the meta becomes stale, unstable and boring. They are all starting to feel like quick 1-2 year pump and dumps tbh. Maybe its shelved intentional after they get that initial bag.🤔😄

$$$. GTA makes alot but also costs alot to keep up and running. These devs arent willing to make the commitment

@@TrixRidiculous I think because the higher ups ask how can monetize the games instead of asking how can we make the people playing it like the game and if they enjoy what their playing they will spend money it's kinda embassing that a game based of the most popular thing today Marvel or it was the most popular during avengers released this should have easily been a success amazing graphics great combat but the suits gave up on this after Spider-Man no dlcs for almost a year or was it over a year so after Spider-Man and discordant sound the higher ups moved on and I do believe if they did continue to support the online service aspect we could have been playing this 3 or 4 years ahead

@@TrixRidiculous how long did marvel heroes omega go on for 3 or 4 years if I'm not mistaken and it did die but not because people stopped playing the game as a matter a fact it just had moved to console after being only on PC for the games few years prior
