“This is Redmond Valley. A nice, quiet valley where unlikely things occur; mostly on Saturdays. This story tells one of those Saturday adventures that was on Christmas.”
This is just one little piece of the beauty and fun that makes The Ren and Stimpy Show such a memorable experience. I didn't watch it as a kid but as an adult fan of cartoons I fell under its spell via some reruns on cable TV and then eventually the DVD season sets. There are so many great and weird dialogue quotes throughout the show (we've got hilarious stuff tattooed on our brains forever), and such a slew of *wonderful* background music tracks ... it's almost overwhelming. I've liked a lot of animated TV --- Invader Zim, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Rocko's Modern, Camp Lazlo, Dexter's Laboratory --- but The Ren and Stimpy Show is special and in a class all its own. Deranged? Sure. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Hauntingly beautiful! It evokes images of shafts of moonlight entering a 1950’s home through an open window, along with a cool evening breeze, bathing the room in a gentle greenish glow. One of my favorites from the series. Wasn’t there a longer version too?
Holidays B is a misnomer referring to Romantic Version (GM-230) that originates from the custom compilation album Music For Supermarkets by Hunter Koster. The track in this video has only ever been released under its original title of Pleasant Sleep.
5 reasons why I love this song. And 1 reason why I hate it. Love: 1. It always makes me yawn, especially when I play it before I go to sleep. 2. It sounds very calming. 3. It's peaceful and relaxing. As well as quiet. 4. The flute sounds nice at the beginning. 5. I would recommend this to anyone who's struggling to sleep. Hate: 1. I wish they could've made the song longer. Because it would've sounded more peaceful.
