I made my original comment over a year ago and my buddy was attacked by a PitBull 2 months ago, February 16th 2021. The pitbull jumped our enclosed fence a day after we got a lot of snow. He was in the front yard and I got a bang on my window from a neighbor I looked out and seen a big dog in my yard. I quickly put 2 and 2 together and sprinted outside in a t-shirt and shorts, barefoot in a foot of snow and when I got to my dog he was on is back with the Pitbull clamped down on his neck, bleeding and looked dead. I start punching the pit bull in the head and the started picking up by his neck he then dropped my dog then I started to push him over the fence with my neighbor on the other side of the fence helping me. When he dropped my dog, my dog starting limping to the front door, I was suprised he was alive then the pitbull ran about 10 feet down my fence and jumped it again and started to go after my dog again and I luckily was quick enough to intersect him and my dad let my dog in the house. I rushed him to the animal hospital and he got staples on 3 different spots around his neck. He is now almost fully recovered and the Pitbull has been put to sleep. The same Pitbull had attacked another dog 3 weeks before it attacked mine I found out afterwards. My dog, Cosmo is a Jack Russell and I almost lost him but thankfully I didn't lose him. Once again I am now crying like a baby while typing this and have to go lay next to my buddy and go to sleep. Take care everyone. Jethro, you are my buddy's hero.
I know, I'm crying right now, I wish I could have been in there and just died for that dog, because he has a family and he deserves to live a full life.

Sitting here in Napier, New Zealand crying my eyes out. If officer Davis or his family ever read this there are 2 things I would like you to know: 1) Had it been you who had died his grief would be just as bad. 2) As much as it hurts right now be thankful, every day you wear the uniform you wear it for him now.

Dogs really do make grown men weep, too bad it's on their way out :(

In the aftermath of 9/11, a Halifax police officer took his K9 partner Trakr down to New York, where they joined the rescue efforts. He had already been taking vacation time, so he wasn't neglecting his duties in Halifax by volunteering his time in the US. Trakr located the last survivor, who was pulled from the rubble and saved because of him. When the officer returned to Canada, he faced disciplinary action from his police force, and they attempted to take Trakr away and euthanize him. While the good citizens of Halifax were opening their homes to refugees stranded when the US closed its airspace, the police of Halifax were proving they only had two good members among them, and goodness is to be punished. Trakr escaped his death sentence and lived out his life with his handler, who was forced to retire early because of the way his team was treated.

I cried during this so much.. We salute you Officer Jethro
I feel like I'm a pretty hard guy, I never cry from anything. I lost close friends and barely cried. But anytime a dog passes away I cry hard. Just watching this video I had to hold back tears because i felt the pain of the officer.
Thank you Jethro. For your service as a Canine officer, & for protecting your community. You will be missed & loved, but you will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace Jethro
Janet rip Jethro thankyou for your service you sweet lovely boy. xx from Scotland.!
Rip hero. Your paw prints will always be in the hearts of every one who loves you ❤️
RIP sweet Jethro. Thank you for your service
I have always been touched by how fallen k-9 partners are honored just as any other officer would be
There a thing that if you killed an k9 partner you are also charged for killing an officer as well
😞😢😢😢Loyalty, commitment, dedication and courage, Jethro had it all. I feel your pain Officer Davis, you had a bond with Jethro like no other. May he Rest in Eternal Peace knowing that he gave his life to save yours 💔💙🐾
From an ex dog handler with West Yorkshire England Police 😞
respect all dog k9 from iran🙏
Not a dry eye and it’s only 10 seconds in. The urgency and severity of that radio call is something that gives any officer listening a chill.
Jethro R.I.P you will be reunion with officer Davis 🇺🇸😇
Love you Jethro. Gone but NEVER forgotten... RIP Hero...❤❤❤
I can't speak for anyone else but I won't forget him.
Wow Awesome and Amazing story. Dogs are man's best friends, this dog will always be remembered for his loving and caring life. 🐕🐕🐕
Wow, he took a bullet for his partner!!! No greater love.......💕💕💕
Three bullets for his human friend.
And the officer said "I would trade places for him in a heartbeat" that shows how much he loved his best friend.
God bless Jethro.🙏 What he did was extremely heroic and truly amazing. May he rest in peace knowing that everyone will remember him as part of their family instead of just a dog. God bless him knowing that everyone else still continue to love him. He really did go beyond the call of duty.
Cried my eyes out. Fly high Jethro you did good boy. He is a Guardian Angel and will be with his partner one day again. Believe that one day Jethro will be waiting to greet him at the gate...♥️♥️♥️♥️
He's our hero and I know
He'll never be replaced 😢
He had a job and a family just like a human. What a great dog :.(
