To MacG, Sol, Ghostlady and all colleagues that work on this podcast,..from the bottom of my heart I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for giving the legends of our country flowers while they are still alive…Thank you for putting it on a platform that is free and accessible to all… What you are doing is GOLD and EXTREMELY RARE…All the legendary icons you have interviewed and continue to interview are single-handedly changing my life, changing the perception I have of my country and make me want to be a better person but not just for myself, but also for my country…even when the country is at its worst, your interviews has awakened in me a sense of patriotism that I never knew I had and it makes me want to join those who want to change the country for the better. All in all, your interviews have given me exposure to how big the world is and what life can be if I work hard because it is possible…and for that I will forever thank you🙏🏼❤️

He simply made the hosts comfortable around him. A gem, a pro and an elder. Big ups Bra John✔️

I'm here to give MacG his flowers as an interviewer and I just don't think it can get better than him and how he's able to read the guest is just extraordinary. The theatre kid in me is SCREAMING!!!!! I've been studying Dr Kani's work for years and to hear him say names like Athol Fugard, Winston Ntshona etc. literally has me GLUED to the screen like a kid in a candy store because I'm such a lover of their work. This makes my heart so happy. Thank you for coming Mkhulu

I am blessed to stumble into this interview. Just yesterday, I was playing the character John, played by John Kane, in a show called "The Island". It was good. Truly a blessing to be part of that play.
This man is happy. I hope our generation learn to enjoy the process and ignore the feeling of instant gratification so that in the future we can share life stories similar to this one. God Bless this elder. 🙌🏾
When our elders repaint the picture of just how grim things were for the black child, you start to recognize and appreciate your privilege. Thank you Dr John Kani for the role you chose to play in history of our liberation!! Thoroughly enjoyed this one
I've seen him live on stage. It feels amazing to hear him talk about his life. Left for dead by the apartheid system and his ancestors said, "Not today Satan". Happy he lived to liberate minds and continues to do so.

Can we actually give Mac his flowers for how great of an interviewer he actually is? Asks questions that shows he did his research, allows the guest to speak without interrupting til the point is made. Jabs in jest periodically throughout. O ntja MacG… Keep it up brother. #ChillerForLife

"I'll be stinking in that coffin coz I'm rich" is one of the line I want to use at some point in my lifetime 😩🙏... sending out a message to the universe
OMG I actually Reed one of his books back in high school which is "nothing but the truth " 😱😱😱 nd and My Children My Africa... now I can understand the behind the story 😍 These is amazing 🙏🙏
I read it in 2014, and I still remember the first scene, word to word. SIPHO: Typical. Just like him. Always not there to take responsibility. Even when we were kids. It was never his fault. Even when he lost my blazer, it wasn't his fault. So said, my Mother. Damn you Themba. All I wanted was a little time. Just for the two of us. There are things I wanted to talk to you about. There are questions I needed to ask. But no. Themba doesn't arrive. He is not available. As usual. I am the eldest. I must understand.
What an important moment with a living legend who wants to be remembered as a good father, a good husband, a good neighbor. It felt like sitting at the feet of umkhulu and hearing not just about the past but hearing about the present and the future (2024). May we be fearless and trust that we are exactly where we should be right now.
Dr Kani knows his value and he doesn't let it go to his head. He is an amazing elder and we are blessed to have him around to be telling us about his experience. Enkosi Tata
this podcast was supposed to run for the whole entire day 24 hours to be precise; Dr. Kani is so funny and vibrant; the memory is on the other level for his age articulation on point;siyabulela Tata

Before I even scroll down to anyone else's comment, first of all well done to you guys for bringing such a Living Legend and Pride for South Africa. What a gift! I read this man's book in High school *Nothing but the truth* and I was so fascinated that I'm reading a book whose Author is actually a South African sorry Mac Beth and Shakespeare people that book is legendary to me. Now back to this interview, this man is an effortless storyteller and I'm in awe...I chose to watch this on tv rather than the phone so that I don't get distracted 🙏🏼🙏🏼💜. The ending was perfect and he is an elder with a sense of humour, hallelujah 💃🏽💜 Well done!!! Best interview for me by far
I've been re-watching this episode and it still hits differently ,I get goosebumps every time, and I get reminded of my school days, when we use to read the book 'NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH". Dr Kani will always be a Legend in my Book for Making Hollywood stop using made-up African Languages in Films, He was the one responsible for Isixhosa being included in Black Panther, and for that He will always be a King In my eyes, MacG, this Podcast is such a necessity in these Times, Well Done team! :) ♥

This is going down in my books as one of the best interviews I've ever watched!😭😭😭😭So much wisdom! Dr. John Kani is...absolutely amazing. Indeed sent by God and his ancestors to touch lives through storytelling. It's so beautiful. Wow.😭😭😭❤
Can we actually give Mac his flowers for how great of an interviewer he actually is? Asks questions that shows he did his research, allows the guest to speak without interrupting til the point is made. Jabs in jest periodically throughout. O ntja MacG… Keep it up brother. #ChillerForLife
I have always thought Dr Kani was a serious man but for him to be in this interview i''m seeing a different side, his humour and story telling is amazing big up McG for sharing this icon with us
Me too...when he used the "s" word I was like 😳🤣🤣👊that's my nigga 😂

"I'll be stinking in that coffin coz I'm rich" is one of the line I want to use at some point in my lifetime 😩🙏... sending out a message to the universe
OMG I actually Reed one of his books back in high school which is "nothing but the truth " 😱😱😱 nd and My Children My Africa... now I can understand the behind the story 😍
These is amazing 🙏🙏
Sipho Makhaya!
Also read the books in high school was 👌 great book ,
Me too🔥🤌 now I actually wanna go read nothing but the truth again because wow🔥🤌
I read it in 2014, and I still remember the first scene, word to word. SIPHO: Typical. Just like him. Always not there to take responsibility. Even when we were kids. It was never his fault. Even when he lost my blazer, it wasn't his fault. So said, my Mother. Damn you Themba. All I wanted was a little time. Just for the two of us. There are things I wanted to talk to you about. There are questions I needed to ask. But no. Themba doesn't arrive. He is not available. As usual. I am the eldest. I must understand.
I did My children My Africa❤😋😊
What an important moment with a living legend who wants to be remembered as a good father, a good husband, a good neighbor. It felt like sitting at the feet of umkhulu and hearing not just about the past but hearing about the present and the future (2024). May we be fearless and trust that we are exactly where we should be right now.
Dr Kani knows his value and he doesn't let it go to his head. He is an amazing elder and we are blessed to have him around to be telling us about his experience. Enkosi Tata

The ending was perfect and he is an elder with a sense of humour, hallelujah 💃🏽💜
Well done!!! Best interview for me by far

Haters will hate and do all sort of things to stain this podcast but none of it will work. This interview is legendary, one to prove how big this podcast is getting😍😍
Thee most legendary elder, an icon, best story teller with a voice that commands your ears to listen attentively. His ability to story tell even when he writes makes you see exactly what he's talking about. He truly is the GOAT of our time ad thank you Mac G and your team for such an amazing, insightful and inspirational interview with Dr John Kani❤

You can exclude JJ and Mmusi out that list
Agreed! They respect his craft. I hope he and Sol do a bit more of that. Like the Malema interview. He was asking him to level up. If he wants the platform to continue attracting luminaries, he better level up sooner rather than later.
#PodcastAndChill is on another level, and MacG is such a great interviewer doesn’t matter who he interviews. Big ups👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Neh 🔥
He is not monotonous. He does his research, other interviewers they ask the same questions to all their guests.
He is brilliant this guy.
I can listen to him for hours, a good story teller, legend and a gifted man. Thank you guys for letting us in to his life and story, truly inspired. He ndaa
