𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐡𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨 was born in a remote village in Northern Finland in 1979, where he grew up on his family's farm. Raised to value honesty and hard work, he completed his military service and attended technical college before travelling to the United States. While in San Francisco, he worked as a translator and chef in the hospitality industry but found the high-stress environment unsatisfying. He eventually moved to New York, where he explored his long-standing interest in Buddhism by meditating with different groups.
It was during this time that he encountered Ajahn Brahm, whose teachings resonated with him and inspired him to become ordained as a monk. He eventually ended up at Bodhinyana Monastery in Australia in 2010, where he took his higher ordination in 2012. He currently resides in Newbury Buddhist Monastery close to Melbourne where he is helping to build a new retreat centre.
Ajahn Mudito's diverse experiences have given him a unique perspective on contentment and happiness. He believes true happiness comes from within and has devoted himself to studying the Dhamma as a monk. He hopes to be remembered as a joyful monk who brings happiness to those around him.
