The reason why they left tho is different but only some followers and fans know about it. They did an interview ages ago which contradicts them wanting to go "independent" and "own their craft" as they said they had free reign and organic chemistry with the team plus they're still friends behind the scenes just not publicly associated. There was a lot of stuff that happened behind the scenes so using that independent excuse was the best way and safest way to shut down all the talks that were occurring at the time like them splitting up and bad history and such.
