Isarigami is a small village located deep in the mountains of Northern Harima, right in the center of Hyogo Prefecture. It is a village of beautiful stone-built rice terraces that has been selected as one of the 100 best rice terraces in Japan.
With fewer than 20 households and an aging population, it is, in a word, a marginal village (a village whose survival is in jeopardy).
