My childhood dog would have seizures every month or so for a few days and then it would stop until the next episode. They were always so sad and scary and I hated how we couldn’t do anything while it was happening. Once she was on medication they had fortunately stopped, and she was able to live a long happy life. She lived to be 14 years old, and was on medication for like 5ish years. Hopefully she will be ok and continues to be her happy self.
oh nooo, i hope the medication works well for her!! there’s very few things that are worse than watching our pets age :(( piper is like a bonus family dog for all of us long time followers!!! my favorite boxer, i loves her sm 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Hi Katie I feel the same as you each time she has those episodes it is best to call your vet. It is very scary. Another thing is about the yearly shots for older pets. There is a titer test an owner can request prior to getting a pets yearly shots. The titer blood test will show if there is enough of the medication in a pets system. In most cases, as pets get older the titer will show that pets do not need to continue having all of those injections because they have enough in their system. It is more expensive though. Also, in some cases, the flea medications can start seizures if they are too close together from one application to another. It is very scary because pet owners have to try their best to know what their pets are going through and how they are feeling because they are like our children too! Please keep us updated.
i have a senior dog too and when anything even super minor happens it is just so scary to think something might happen to them. just know you are doing everything that you can and she recognizes your love for her and she will be okay! praying for piper and your sanity. lots of love.
I hope that everything with Piperoni goes well and this medication helps stop her from seizing. My dog used to experience seizures from lyme disease and it was genuinely very scary so I know how you feel but I'm glad to say that he hasn't had one in several years. I remember when you got Piper as a puppy so she definitely has a special place in my heart and I hope feels better soon!

When my dog had a seizure once and within a few months they started happening more and more until one day they were basically constant seizures. We had to make a really tough decision. Seeing your dog have a seizure for the first time is one of the hardest things to watch. Katie, I hope Piper is okay, but I’d recommend you spend lots of time with her the next few months and hug her tightly because, like with anyone, you really don’t know when their last day will be.
this here :( our dog was blind with diabetes and it's so disheartening seeing them go downhill.
My dog Bear (120 Bernese Mountain Dog) started have seizures around age 3. Not frequent! Once he turned 5 he had them more frequently so we got him on meds! So far so good! Hope Piper is feeling better and doesn’t get them again!! SO SCARY 🥺
