What a wonderful person you are. They are feeling it. Id be singing too if i was there. Its supposed to be a free spirited environment. Whats with the censoring
Love these guys! Best band touring now in my opinion, sounds wonderful and Mayer and Weir just intertwine so well. Love Mayer’s sweet tone and solos! Visually beautiful, Dead and Company brings it!
Set all D&C to speed up playback one notch, and it almost sounds like it was meant to. It definitely makes it listenable, without it having a "lullaby" effect...lol Phish did a better cover of this, and I was never a fan of them. But JM's voice, and changing some of the words(purposely?), it just doesn't sound right with alot of the ballads, imo. I think Oteil should handle alot more of the vocals, especially the ballads. The CD, and CaT he broke out a couple tours ago were truly spine tingling..the only times I have ever felt such things with this band. A feeling that used to last from the opening note in set I, right through the encore...Damn near every night! Still doable at DSO and JRAD shows, as well. They really bring back the full experience, especially music-wise, and ultimately that's ALL it was about for me. I never understood all the people that would be on the entire tour, and might get in 1 or 2 shows. It always blew my mind all the people I would see that weren't going in, and didn't care. The shows was the reason I was there. This was pre-95, as well..Just shows how alot of people had been doing it so long, they just took it for granted they would always be there. I had no other interest in doing anything else, but see TGD play. I am just happy my life over lapped with theirs, and I got to experience it at all. But sadly, I have yet found ANYTHING that can bring me the same level of pure joy, and true contentment. I would trade the rest of my days for one more show..on more set, even. Without hesitation. I knew 24 years ago today, when he passed, that I would never again find that kind of pure ecstasy, and raw passion/emotion that came through so perfectly in his performances. If Jerry had lived, I would have been on tour this whole time..Yes, 24yrs ago today was by far the worst day ever in my life(and I've had some doozies). But nothing can match what I, and the entire world lost that day, which was FAR more than just the passing of a friend, or family member. This was the man that brought, and filled our hears with such bliss, and was , it would likely not even be allowed to happen the way it originally did, now days, anyway. The gvt wouldn't want us to live that "nomadic" lifestyle anymore. I think thats why they seem to put 4 sometimes 5 or more off days between venues, that would have only required one before. You would need to be rich to put yourself up in these cities for days, almost a week at a time, between shows. You used to make you money on the lot whatever your hustle was, the point was to make enough for a ticket, and gas/food to the next show. We would have ran out of money, if we had to wait all that time, while spending money we don't have, because we can't get to work and make any. So I don't see how anyone could actually tour with this band without flying to every show, or otherwise being rich. Besides, the travelling, and seeing cool parts of the country, and being able to stop when we see something cool, and check it out. That was half the fun,the road trips. all the joints we passed from car window to another cars occupant, and complete strangers..handing beers to each other. It was a real blast, that if you tried alot of that today, you'd find dozens of dash cam video from the other cars watching you passing stuff back and forth.I may be pushing 50 now, in a couple years, but all my memories from those 4 short years, as well as how my mind was instantly changed forever when I first heart this music. I was hooked instantly. It spoke to me in a way no music has before or since. To anyone out there trying to tour and experience all that, I wish you the best. I realize my opinion on something is just that, and many people don't agree with me, and that''s fine. If this band does "it" for you, then that's all that matters, but get all you can, while you can. Because you could wake up tomorrow, and it's all over. I mean in 95, they were all between late 40's early 50's. But now that they are in their twilight years(original band member). So literally all this could come crashing down at any moment. Don't make a mistake like I did, and I blew off the last half of summer tour, due to the overwhelming strange vibe that permeated everything on the tour from hell, as it was literally called in the news as well as by the band, and the heads. That was the first time in 3 years I didn't go to Deer Creek or SF. Thinking I would just pick back up in the fall, which was always most laid back. Bottom line, if you find anything you truly love, and you just can't get enough of it..don't turn down any opportunity to go, or one day you will regret them for the rest of your life. IMO. No matter what band, or style you prefer. Whatever speaks to your heart and soul, is good. Remember, "too much of anything is just enough"!✌
Go find a band using auto-tune and/or lip syncing so you can get what you want. The Grateful Dead have never offered that. They offer authentic live music.
What ever happened to sitting down, burning a doobie and enjoying the tunes?! I can't believe these chatty cathys were around in the 60's and 70's.........us older folks have more respect for our neighbor. Thumbs down only because of the chatter
@@1donjuego Not my point at all . They butcher the hell out of it . Everytime I've hard them play it . Listen to the album or any number of videos of it being done by the Dead . No comparison .
So awesome. Thanks for posting. It was my wife's first show and this was her favorite song of the night!
Share the love spread the light
Thanks for posting! Wish people would stfu when Bobby is singin tho. Jus sayin.
Agreed. I don't understand these guys who will sit next to you and have a conversation. Guess I need to move to the mosh pit tonight. :)
If you see something, say something. Tell them to take conversation to the lobby
Agreed though I would extend that to when anyone is singin'.

John sings beautifully. I like Oteil's voice, but I don't feel his singing.
That second voice needs to go. Bless him though for his passion!
Never mind...damn that guy WAS awful

In my opinion , this is one song that they should leave alone . This is Jerry's and always will be . Old head that got on the bus spring '78 .
So .. you don't want new kids today to have the joy of this song live? Huh?
