Nice lists of 70s music, to be honest, a lot of the bands named I never listened to that particular album mentioned though I've heard of the band and maybe familiar with some of their songs. Music that I am more familiar with from the 70s aside from Led Zeppelin would be bands like Grand Funk, Three Dog Night, Steppenwolf, Sly and the Family Stone, Boz Scaggs, WAR. The Boz Scaggs "Silk Degrees" , WARs "Why can't we be friends" and Paul McCartneys "McCartney" albums are three that instantly comes to mind as being albums that had many good songs on them. Also, Merry Christmas to you and your dad.

Merry Christmas D M! Yeah I had to make some tough calls when narrowing down the list. I had some Grand Funk and Three Dog Night in there at first. But in both cases the singles seemed to outshine the album, to me anyway. But I still didn’t want to cut them haha, it was just due to time. I justified it thinking people will let me know if I missed one lol. Such a great decade of music! I could have made this video several hours long talking about all of it. Maybe we can do a different genre next year.

Thanks! I don’t know what happened but I think around ‘96 things changed for the worse haha. Took about 10 years to start getting some decent stuff again but it’s nowhere near what it once was. Merry Christmas!!

Wow, great video with your dad. Thanks man. Seeing it like this… man we are really spoiled with some killer albums of that decade!. Great lists from the both of you. It’s hard to just pick one each year. I agree with you about Exile On Main St. Merry Christmas to both of you.

Thanks! I love doing stuff like this, it’s fun to discuss! Yeah it’s eye opening to look at how many good albums and variety there was back then. I like today’s music too but it’s a fraction of what it used to be to me. Exile is amazing, the right blend of rock, great song writing, playing, and vibe that makes me want to crank it up! Merry Christmas!!

Don’t know much about the Stooges. But I don’t know how gouging each other’s eyes and hitting each other with sledge hammers is considered rock. Like this video. Fun for discussion.

Great video Kyle especially with dear ol' dad sitting shotgun with ya. I must be a year or two younger than your daddy but I love 70s rock. The album of the decade for me would be Pronounced by Skynyrd. My most favorite song in all of rocknroll is Gimme Three Steps. It's played almost everyday still to this day. An almost same scenario happened to me when I was 17 when I was visiting some cousins in Charlotte, NC. I was saved by busting a thick beer mug in the guys face then bolted for the door. A tense situation for a moment turned out to be story I've told many times. But that whole album is, as you said, KILLER!!!
    MERRY CHRISTMAS to ya'll !!
