It’s a hunting blind, not a house!! Nice but way overbuilt. Small windows and a lot of blind spots with so much material in the corners. Deer move very slow when they’re browsing, a herd could literally walk right up to this and if you sit still, you would never see them. We’ve built several of these and correcting the mistakes as we go is part of the growing process.
Excellent blind!!! Thank you for sharing! Have you taken the two pieces of duct tape off the driveway yet that marked where your feet needed to be after your trick video shot of moving the base into the trailer? :-)
Hey rusty great video i am thinking of using this plan for my hunting stand! Do you by chance still have the materials you purchased as far as quantities per board.. lumber prices are crazy I’m not trying to over shoot too much, thanks
You are 100% correct. I always play safety first on the job sites. My windows, yes, they are way too small. I think I’m going to do an update video on that here soon. Thanks for the comment! Have a great day!
I can’t remember what it’s called specifically. 3/8” thick I think, the main reason I picked it was because it was primed and all Lowe’s had at the time of the pandemic.
The hard hat with sandals is a great look!
Thank you! I’m sure somewhere an osha guy flipped his lid 😂😂😂
I use 3" deck screws, more expense but worth it. I also just split 2x4s for the studs.

Wow! You’re such a scholar of deer society
Awesome build and info.
Thank you!
What dimension trim did you use for the corners and windows? Looks like about 1x4?
Very helpful
Thank you!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Nice video with some very practical, helpful tips. Good job! Hope you enjoy the deer season!
Thank You! Safe hunting to you as well.
I use siding nails or screws. They will not back out .

Pure magic!
It is a great low maintenance
Why is it called Drip edge? Because it cause the water to drip away from the "gutter board" ( fascia board)
Thank you!

No right off hand, let me look and see if I have some receipts.
Great blind!
Thank you!

Those windows are definitely going to leak. But it looks great.
Thanks for the insight, I will be looking out for that.
Just asking,, What the hard hat going to do for you?
Absolutely nothing.
What kind of siding did you use?

Rusty, are you aware that your nickname is Dale Gribble's alias from King of the Hill?
I can neither confirm nor deny…
Building a watch??? About 12 inches is close enough. You could of saved money by using 2 x 6 for your 45 inch floor joist
Thank you for your insight!
when I do the roof on mine will I need the orange hard hat & the safety sandals or will bare feet and baseball cap be enough ???
Whatever gets the job done!
Good job. I’m curious to here how the windows worked out for you. Most would have installed them vertically to have a wider opening to shoot.
You know, truth be told I probably would have spent the extra money and got vertical sliding casement windows.
