FelineNerdy. Same here. Just yesterday for me too. She reminded me of my grandmother who also cooked like Clara did during the depression. My grandmother would tell me stories in the kitchen as she was cooking and laugh as Clara did. She was a wonderful person. They learned to appreciate the small things in life. May she R.I.P 😇
I just love Clara. She is so gentle and real. It's wonderful that her family has these videos to remember her by. How I wish this technology had existed when my grandmother was alive. Thanks for posting!

I never wish for too much. Heck I live in a small room, no tv just a laptop. I don't even have a smartphone just a simple flip phone. I'm 33 years old and I'm happy with what I have in life.
Yeah, I recently started renting out a room, sort of like a flat, has a room, kitchen, small living room and bathroom, but I have to cross through the owners home to get to my area. Regardless, I love it. My rent is cheap, I have peace and quiet, and I love coming home. I used love going out so much, but now I just love having a comfortable bed and plenty of food in my fridge. Can't ask for much more than that and a stable job to pay the bills
Clara was her own person...It's so beyond all of those things and it's what gives life to everything about you. To be Your own self is such a treasure. We miss her so much.
I'm sorry she died but glad she was lucid and so philosophical to the end, just tired at the last years. I've really enjoyed being with "old people," hearing their stories, and I want to get right into their shops and kitchens and watch and help! My husband is well looked after with homecooked, frugal meals here in France -- it's better for my health, too! A bit hard to manage when I work but if I could even do it in NYC with a previous spouse, anyone can!

Christopher, How blessed you and your family is to have had such a beautiful soul around for so long. I never knew my grandmother, both on my father and mother's side. If I could have had a grandmother, I would have wanted Miss Clara. Thank you so much for sharing your grandmother with us. She makes me smile every time I view her videos. I know heaven is a wonderful place knowing Miss Clara is there. We love you Miss Clara. Rest in the peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Who’s here because of the Corona Virus pandemic, social distancing and some of the store shelves are bare? We need Clara more than ever now. She was so entertaining and wise. Thank you to her family for sharing her with us.
Just happened across her channel and have ended up watching most of the videos already in one sitting. This one has to be my favorite, though. Such a beautiful smile in the outtake at the end. Her gorgeous personality just shined right through. Love ya, Clara. Rest well.
I love Clara's attitude so much! No matter what type of hardship you experience, if you try your hardest to stay positive and stick together, you can get through it. It's a great piece of advice that everyone should use. It helped my family get through and overcome depression, sickness, injuries, death, spousal abuse, car accidents, poverty, etc. I definitely hope it will help others.
I just purchased her cookbook and love it. The pictures are a wonderful addition to her stories. The picture of her cousin Mary as a postulate entering the convent was quite interesting. I entered the convent in 1967 and we wore almost the same clothes. Only difference was the collar. Mine was a Peter pan collar. I grew up in a south suburb of Chicago with a large, active Italian population. Sometimes my father took us for mass at San Rocco Church. Masses were still in Latin but the sermon was in Italian. We had wonderful Italian restaurants like The Tivoli, Scrementi's and Cipriani's. Sure miss Marconi bread.
I loved the outtake at the end! (..I had to watch one more today) ...Clara's sense of humor served her well...without love and humor, you are sunk,...so finding it, and keeping ahold of it, is key to happiness, and perhaps a great long life full of blessings, like Clara had.
I stumbled across Clara's RUclips channel just yesterday and after watching two episodes I found out she was no longer with us, I wept uncontrollably. 😢 As I watched this episode, I wept again... Happy tears. Thinking that she's in heaven watching all of us going through this pandemic, possibly another Great Depression, Clara wouldn't have to go through again. Her recipes, her smile will forever remain in my heart. ❤ Rest in peace, Clara. Til then 🙏🏻💕
God is this relevant today. She lives More than ever in her videos. She brings tears to my eyes remembering my great grandma who came from Italy with her entire family..she was also Claras age. I think of her daily more than ever as she went through the depression also Spanish flu. Thank you Clara.A blessing you were and still are to so many watching these still today. 🙏❤RIP 😢
It’s Nov 2020 and I just discovered Clara! Such lousy times we’re going through, so before sleeping, I watch her videos to relax and feel good. She reminds me of my nanny. When I watch her videos, I always wished I was sitting in her kitchen. Sometimes I cry after watching a video-as if I’m saying farewell. Strange I know. Anyway she was such a funny and witty lady.
Her wise words are revelant in todays troubled times! What a wise strong woman. I admire her. So sorry shes passed. How kind of of you Christopher to keep her channel going.
So I watch all the Clara videos I can find, then I see this one and find out Clara is from my town. That makes me nearly bawl with happiness. That’s the North Avenue I’m talking about in the Dandelion episode. I so wish I could have known her and her family!!!!
Truly wish I would have seen her videos before her passing, what an inspirational woman!! Reminds me so much of my grandma who passed 8 years ago. I can not even imagine how tough those times were, but that motivation to keep going and make an incredible life for herself keeps me strong. Thank you so much for these videos. Every time I watch one, it brings me to a point in reality where I can see that everything is going to be okay, no matter how hard I think things will be.
Wandered the interwebs & found this channel. After all these years, a testament to the genuine nature of the channel and preserving Clara's history and love of passing along her stories of cooking! I'm not much of a great cook, but will be trying out some of these recipes!
Oh she's so cute and funny! Its great to see her enjoying the newfangled stuff. And giggling about the bloopers! Wish I could have been there. I noticed Clara had an owl cookie jar on her counter. I have one too that came from my gramma years ago when she passed. I too only had one child and I have 3 grandchildren-all teens now. Not a great gramma yet-but I am only 56 lol! I hope they wait a bit. This was lovely. I hope I can still find her cookbook when I can buy it. Thankyou.
Thank You for sharing your Nana. I enjoyed watching all of her videos. I could relate to many of the things she talked about. She is very much like my mom. I too came from Italy and traveled on the Saturna when I was only 4. Although, I didn't live through the depression, being an immigrant was difficult and my father too had a large garden, ate lots of veggies and many of the same dishes that Clara shared. When we came from abroad we came with a suitcase. We had no dishes, no glasses, no bedding or anything. I recall my mother hand-making pillows and pretty much all of my dad's pay would go to purchase necessities, such as bedding, towels etc.. slowly, one thing at time. I recall drinking out of jars for a long time until we got established. My mom never put eggs in her fried pepper sandwiches. It was my favorite sandwich too. I intend to try your nanas recipe of pepper with the eggs very soon. Families were close back then because they were poor. I don't wish the poverty on anybody but the family life and the true joy and happiness in those days was unsurpassed. I miss those times very much. Thank you for bringing back many of my own memories through these videos. I am very touched. May God Bless.
I love Clara and I love the manager of this channel. Thank you for sharing her with us. What a precious, sweet treasure you've helped share with the world. Thank you. Thank you Clara.
I find your videos refreshing! I love the simplicity of your cooking as well as your hosting! Thank you for taking the time to mark these great recipes for future generations! You are just too cute!
I keep thinking about just giving up with all that’s going on in the world right now, I feel defeated and like all is hopeless (I have a lot of mental health issues, was trying to find medicine that works but can’t even do that now because of COVID) but listening to Clara makes me realize I should just keep trying.
Basically, live beneath your means. Will do, Clara! Haha! You are a gem. You are like a walking history lesson. Thank you so much. My mom was born in 1930. She gave me the same advice "stay consistent" with parenting. Great advice. God bless I will pray for you, Clara. I have a feeling you are with the communion of saints with my mother praying for all of us mere mortals down here! Xoxoxo.
The things Clara would have to say with us going through this pandemic. She’d have so many wise words to share. What a incredible human. Rest In Peace Clara. You are so loved you have no idea
Clara was so adorable! I wish that I could have met her. I get the feeling she would've been like my grandmother: greeting you with a hug and some cookies. :)
I just recently found her videos online and they are definitely the best videos online. It’s like listening to your grandmother telling stories from the past. She is genuine and delightful to listen to. While her food looks delicious, her stories as she cooked are what made these videos special. I was saddened to find out she had passed away a few years back, but she has left a great legacy of cooking and eating during the hardest of the hard times and the stories that went with it. Thank you Clara!
Thank you so much for sharing your nonna's recipes and her life. It brought back fond memories of my father and his experiences of the depression. We ate many of the same things that your nonna makes. Grazi
Oh Clara you brightened everyones day with your videos. I hope you are watching down from heaven on all of us making your recipes. God bless your family. My family is from Chicago too 🖤
I miss the simplicity that existed when I was growing up. The women who did things together, helping each other, sharing with family and neighbors - a sewing machine, a pressure cooker for canning, fruit from backyard trees or an abundance of tomatoes from the garden - Clara reminds me of these women. We don't do those things anymore, no one has the time, and we have lost something precious. More tragic is that children have lost a fine example of caring and sharing. Thank you, Clara.
This is true reality . Even after her passing, her radiance shines through so strongly.
When did she pass?

It’s Nov 2020 and I just discovered Clara! Such lousy times we’re going through, so before sleeping, I watch her videos to relax and feel good. She reminds me of my nanny. When I watch her videos, I always wished I was sitting in her kitchen. Sometimes I cry after watching a video-as if I’m saying farewell. Strange I know. Anyway she was such a funny and witty lady.
Her wise words are revelant in todays troubled times! What a wise strong woman. I admire her. So sorry shes passed. How kind of of you Christopher to keep her channel going.
I love to see older pictures from your life, beautiful thank you for sharing
All class and all Wisdom!
Shesasupergeek I agree such a great soul to have lived .
Such a beautiful soul…❤❤❤. R.I.P.
Nana Clara, What a beautiful Soul! RIP.
Thank you, dear Clara, may you rest in peace. Bless your soul.
So I watch all the Clara videos I can find, then I see this one and find out Clara is from my town. That makes me nearly bawl with happiness. That’s the North Avenue I’m talking about in the Dandelion episode. I so wish I could have known her and her family!!!!
Kat Rand - Me too I just found these videos and I wish I could’ve met her I live in one of the next towns over
Literally same I am so late to the game how disappointing
Truly wish I would have seen her videos before her passing, what an inspirational woman!! Reminds me so much of my grandma who passed 8 years ago. I can not even imagine how tough those times were, but that motivation to keep going and make an incredible life for herself keeps me strong. Thank you so much for these videos. Every time I watch one, it brings me to a point in reality where I can see that everything is going to be okay, no matter how hard I think things will be.
Me too thanks for her videos still being here on RUclips
Clara you are such an inspiration, keep up the good work.
RIP Sweet Lady
“We went through it and we survived. So I guess I wouldn’t change anything”. Pure wisdom. Love Clara.
So glad I found this thanks for sharing clara shes priceless
My family is from Chicago too 🖤
So much wisdom in this short video.
I love you dear LADY!!!!!!! RIP
I love watching her videos. She has such wisdom. Bless your sweet soul.
This is a lot of information and wise advice.Thank you and by the way I used to live in the same area.
Oh Clara..... we love you sooooo much
