Not at all accurate, this Opuntunia fragilis is suffering hard. The only reason it would make consecutive elongated paddles directly ontop of one another is a response to poor lightning conditions. Each paddle is like a separate battery of energy, you can see from the left-most bottom paddle that as it desperately tries to force itself into the light the rooting section is being drained of resources as it doesn't have enough light and is doing a last ditch effort for survival. In normal conditions the paddles would be much broader as it maximises surface area for photosynthesis and take longer to form, the wispy growth shown is nothing but it's final attempt at survival. (I cultivate over 40 different morphs of opuntunia fragilis, polyacantha and columbiana)

Can u help me what to do if I want my opuntia paddle to grow broad n huge instead of elongated paddle on top of each other

@@vcreates_ttgs if you want the pads to be spread out, all over the place like mine is doing, you should give it more light so they don’t just keep growing on top of each other, while it is normal for a new pad sprout to be elongated before growing outwards into a more common round shape.

@@vcreates_ttgs Light! That's a classic sign of not enough light. Need to vastly increase the amount of light the plant is receiving

Cool so I have to give my cactus poor lighting so it could grow those cute little ones on top? 😅 I really want mine to do that lol

These guys need more light. They basically need to cook under the sun to be at their best.
