Feature wise I really like the case, made me a bit nostalgic for an Antec case I once had with dials / rotary switches on the front that let you adjust the speed of each fan individually. I also love the side panels and the fact that the LCD screen itself doesn't seem to be too dependent on you going MSI anywhere else.
I start build new PC with this case. MSI MEG Z790 ACE, i9-13900K, MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R V2, GSKILL Trident Z5 DDR5-6400(4 x 32GB), MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X 24G OC, 2TB SSD Samsung PRO 990 NVMe M.2, MSI MEG - 1000W, Windows 11. I hope will worth it.
The PC case manual could be better, I am trying to build it right now and there are some undocumented cables, most likely to power the fan controller... hmmm...
This is my first time attempting to put a computer together, thank you so much for this video! I can't seem to find any mounting screws for the motherboard. I read the case usually comes with them. Are they hidden somewhere? I can't seem to find the answer online yet. Also, both my M.2 ssds have heatsinks. Do you know if the provided heatsinks are better to use in general? My one ssd comes with a huge heatsink. And unfortunately it's a gen 5 ssd which I can't even use with my Maximus 970 Hero mobo because the provided hyper card with 5th gen support won't even fit in the proper slot with the gpu installed.
Vertical GPU mount can be adjusted !!! Find the hidden screws ! move them closer to mobo, de-screw plastic construction to find them, like Reptile ! ;)
I think if I pay this much for a case, maybe remove the fans/hub and lower the price $50 or so. I just feel I would want to match all the fans exactly for the type of system i would build in this. But yeh even then the price is steep. Also maybe the vertical mount should be installed by default, again for that case price im probably going vertical gpu anyway. That said, with the problem you experienced i wonder if pre-installing the card into the bracket before putting it into the case would help :P
As is so often the case the designers are still thinking that we have these PCs on the floor. No modern self respecting PC fan would have. They are works of art and should be on the desk.
I was skeptical on buying this because the ports on the front are on top. I will have to deal with cables dangling down I guess...and buying a longer cable for my external USB hub.
What is a good power supply that fits nicely in the case + how do i take off the shield thing for the psu (without removing the back plate) the rig is already built i just want to swap psu's
Quick question, how long is the shelf storage expire date for AIOs and GPUs with liquid cooling? Just asking as I'm curious if the AIOs expire or have failures if they are stored for months in store shelves.
I'm not sure how long the shelf life is but I have had one or two AIO pumps seize up after being stored for long periods. If you can open them up to free the impeller they work fine again. I'm talking a couple of years in storage.
@@KitGuruJames thanks so much for the reply. I asked that question because I'm building a new PC and I already bought the CPU AIO liquid-cooling and a RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X back in March 2023. So I'm still waiting for some parts to get back in stock and I was worried that the AIOs could get damaged until I get all the parts to put all together. I've been buying the parts for the PC each month since March so maybe in a couple of months more the PC will be running. Thanks again for the reply!
I personally do not like the front end design, looks “clunky” and narrowing the fans aperture. Shame you didn’t try to fit a 4090 into it vertically. Do not think it’s worth the price either. Shame.
@@jonwilliams6996 no case ftw! mkt sentiment is total shit right now - why even consider building anything until well after zen5? mostly accurate - simple case means more money for the things that actually matter
thats a piece of work, I am guessing half the money is in the LCD panel.
This feature has been a long time coming. Cases deserve to have a screen on them

I'm still rocking my antec lanboy 😊 still like new ,it's only thing that never gets changed when upgrading my pc

I remember back in the 1980s Dell cases used to have an LCD status display on their case.
Finally get to see another James build.
one has to wonder why you did not throw -be quiet- out there when you were throwing names of good case manufactures around at the beginning.
The fan adjustment feature from the LCD is something that has been a long time coming.
I started watching this expecting to hate it but while it’s expensive and will use horrible msi software it’s a pretty neat overall concept.
So much detail in a case review love it!
The PC case manual could be better, I am trying to build it right now and there are some undocumented cables, most likely to power the fan controller... hmmm...
That display would be useful if it could display debug info if you get a bad POST.
Looks like my SYNCRO Q7 that came with an 650W gold PSU for 130,-.

Really like the hinged side panels.
cracking looking bit of work that - love that touch panel

That screen imo is pointless if your case sits right on your desk ,don’t want to stand up to see my temps but Yh it still looks good
I like you adding the build to the video and editing it very cleanly, not many reviewers do that.
Thanks! 👍
This case's problem is that it needs dragon center.
True. 😂😊
Dont think you need to use it, there is a button switch mode for motherboard direct support I think
You can use most of the LCD features without MSI centre but some require it such as the weather reports and clock.

Im sure I tried to do that but it would still not fit correctly. Even with the card inserted into the PCIe slot it was too tall.
I've been trying to make my decision, I'm torn between this case and the Antec P1.
Looks like a cooler master
That’s a pretty cool. If expensive case. Props to msi for trying something different.
As is so often the case the designers are still thinking that we have these PCs on the floor. No modern self respecting PC fan would have. They are works of art and should be on the desk.
I mean sure, if you have a massive desk.
I was skeptical on buying this because the ports on the front are on top. I will have to deal with cables dangling down I guess...and buying a longer cable for my external USB hub.
I would swear that Msi has used the same manufacturer than Corsair for this case. There are some features that reminds me of the Corsair 5000D.
This is a nice gift for a Sunday evening.
All high tech gadgetry makes a good care James.
will it fit my 400mm cpu cooler radiator?
901 pro is better.
Forget the LCD-Panel. You will not use it after a month.
25:53 Have you tried adjusting the vertical mount by removing the screws and adjusting the slot to the proper location?
That panel looks expensive hence the price of the case. Would be a very appealing option for a niche audience. ❤
All the compartments look amazing. I didn't get why pomp's display showed CPU temperature 99 degrees while music playing.
It was a hot track.
They there’s some 700r cases with ‘missing hardware’ monitor inside the lcd panel?
That triangular front isnt my cup of tea.
So much detail James. Companies should start hiring you to test products

The specs are very impressive.
Hello from Greece congrats for the great review can i ask?I have gigabyte motherboard z790 aurous elite ax ddr4 the screen is compatible? Thanks
the video is interesting, the case is cute. But msi could have made the front panel connection better.

That is such a nice looking build.
Good review, good work
You didn't show what cables come with the case and what wires are for the screen
And why is this guy so negative
Is it invertable ?
No
Modular design is very well thought out.
Can you get one with a separate, larger (say 27inch) lcd panel you can set on a desk and use as a general purpose display for your computer?
Not one I've seen.
Shame they dont offer it without the LCD panel, would likely drop the price to £150
I think that is gonna happen, they can easily repurpose that screen as a external one
The Prospect 700 without the R in it, is supposed to be on sale/available without the LCD ? ;)
nice case but ridiculous price
"Bet your case can't do this" Bet it can... I have this case. :p
😂
Is the case display of this machine compatible with other manufacturer's products or only MSI?
I believe it should be compatible with other motherboards but you will need to use the MSI centre software for some functions.
Does the case doors are hang straight or by magnets?
James is definitely north of the wall.
Didnt know MSI even made a case.
For 350 USD it's absolutely not worth it. Consider Phanteks nv7 for only 220 USD.
cant fit with own gpu product...?
im prefer MEG PROSPECT 700RL btw...
350 quid is quite a lot of money for a box to put your hardware in,
Why use a 1500w power supply with this setup? Would a 1000w be okay?
Yeah it should be fine - we sometimes use power supplies we are sent from some companies
@@KitGuruTech Ah, okay. Thanks for answering.
That's true my case has airflow instead.
At £165, definitely. At £350, no way. Still a nice enclosure though; significantly better than the awful MSI hotboxes from recent memory
Where do i buy?!!

powr supply cut out, put off straight away
yeah, I lot of money for a case. couldnt agree more
Lots of money but it is a very high end case.
You can but lcd panels for like 20 dollars that do the same shit. This is such a massive rip off.
Doesnt look quite right with a single fan at the back.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Bad ass…but pricy of course.
cases are boxes - any case that does stuff other than provide good ventilation is overpriced garbage
why not just save all the money and just fire the components on the desk instead.
Cardboard box with knife holes FTW.
@@jonwilliams6996 no case ftw! mkt sentiment is total shit right now - why even consider building anything until well after zen5? mostly accurate - simple case means more money for the things that actually matter
To expensive...
really love gadgets - but MSI software - is a tough one to swallow - its a nightmare - not as bad as ASUS garbage crate, but bad.....
it really looks like a 10 year old drew a PC case during playtime. IMO it looks gaudy and nasty. The lcd panel is nice though.
🤷🏼♀️ MSI has software issues, CPU coolers that leak n won’t replace ‼️ hate BloatWare
The VRM circuits are 100 years out of date and the PSUs date back to 1988, and you talk about cases. Can you say superficial?
Cases are just becoming too far from what they are intended
for. Simply to house your build. Everything else is just a waste of money.
All useless stuff
The MSI logo on the front is so ugly
