I remember the “Collect Call Wars” when 1-800-Collect and AT&T were competing with their individual numbers to save on collect calls. They were advertised so constantly, you knew the numbers by heart even if you weren’t making a call.
Oh yes, Mac Computers were everywhere in school. For me, it was around High School (92-96) when they started showing up. Before that, it was Apple IIs.
Pulsar Watches- I like how the beekeeper woman strokes a bee that landed on her finger as if it were a cat at the end of this commercial. Triaminic AM- The windup toy of the boy on the tricycle in this commercial looks like it could be a long lost relative of the “My Buddy” doll. Smart Clapper- I can see the couple at 7:57 clapping constantly to turn each other’s light and TV on and off.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate & enjoy your nostalgic Christmas ad uploads! Plus again Merry Christmas & a splendiferously magical 2024, 80sCommercialVault to you & your family!
Seeing the old promos for NBC Nightly News reminds me of when I was a kid, and how I misunderstood Tom Brokaw's name as "Tom Broke Law", and thought they had an ex-criminal as the news host.
The 90s Call Collect obsession strikes again. As I haven't ever had a Hardee's particularly close I was unaware they sold fried chicken till I saw the commercial here.
I remember this vividly. And soon after, I changed the channel and caught the series premiere of MTV's The Head that same night. And all this happening in the same month as NES releasing its final game Wario's Woods. But I did see the collect commercial before doing all of that. John Cleese is truly a funny guy as well as the rest of the Monty Python crew.
Not sure which game KQWC went with, but as far as the Chargers-Steelers game; they would of course meet again 3 weeks later in the AFC Championship Game (I remember that as one of the first NFL games I remember watching any of. As a Steeler fan, this would be part of a long string of heartbreakers over the next decade or so)
23:26 pretty sure this is Janine Turner, one of the main characters on the TV Series "Northern Exposure" during the time period this commercial was run.

Merry Christmas ⛄
The Timex Indiglow commercial reminds me more of the end of Ghostbusters II.
If the Unsolved Mysteries Christmas episode didn’t have Robert Stack wearing a Santa hat during his host segments, no deal.
Or at least a red dress shirt with black dress pants & shoes 😂😂😂😂😂😂

"You do not have enough conventional memory" LOLOLOLOL that used to be a big deal when trying to run DOS games without a dedicated boot floppy disk!

The pulsar watch lady was so adorable 😂

Thank you for this.
Happy holidays to your family and friends.

At 4:25, is that Miami Vice's Phillip Michael Hall as the teacher?
I don’t think it is, but a strong resemblance for sure. BTW his name is Philip Michael Thomas.
@@80sCommercialVault Speaking of the commerical with the Ricardo Tubbs look a like. Did I just see Blaze Berdahl aka Lenni Fraizer from Ghostwriter?
No, it's Geoffrey Owens, best known for playing Alvin Thibideaux on The Cosby Show.

@5:45 Things start to sound a little creepy.
@5:55 I believe "The Predator" is hunting or perhaps just watching these people about to "get busy".....
