i need to chant this mantra for my mom, but i found some difference..in "bhaisajye bhaisajye mahabhaisajya samudgate svaha" some said without "maha"..which one is the right one? it sounds "bhaisajye bhaisajye bhaisajya samudgate svaha"
🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏 That's wonderful that you're chanting for your mom. Maha is an honororary title -- it means Great. Bhaisajye is Medicine, but it is more than his name, it's also the activity of healing (Bhaisajya is medicine or healing). We repeat Bhaisajya or Bhaisajye multiple times to reinforce healing and to supplicate the Medicine King. So, Maha means "Great Medicine Buddha" -- it is meritorious to honor the Buddha. But with or without is fine. As a supplication, without the Maha it's still saying "Healing, Healing, Healing" but with the Maha it's saying "Great healing, great remedy, great Medicine Buddha). It is, however, with the Maha in the Sutra Dharani, so if you're trying to be precise, it's better to use it, but no harm without it. Somtimes the last recitation also has Raja (but not in this Dharani from Sutra). "Raja" in the mantra means king (in Tibetan it's Radza or Randza -- but in Sanskrit it is properly Raja) -- another honoring of the great Medicine Guru.
