- I'm back again!
I actually only discovered this song about 3 days ago haha ... But the instant I heard it I had to cover it!
I heard an amazing cover by pomegranate (you can listen to it here • 声 / HarryP cover. by 柘... ) and ended up using it as a reference. (Because her singing style is a lot like how I like to tune!) ^ o ^
The lyrics of this song are really nice too, I tried to put emotion into the voice as much I could. (Hopefully I didn't go overboard)
I had a little trouble with the mixing as well so I hope you'll forgive me ^o^ ;;;;; (for some reason VY1's samples were distorted in some places and I couldn't fix it no matter how I mixed it )

VY1 is really really underrated despite being one of the most high quality vocaloids out there. Your use here truly makes their qualities shine!
She is the most high quality japanese vocaloid tho.
She was developed to had basically no flaws beyond what her voicestyle allows.
Fingersoop I yeah. I heard that they are the most high quality Japanese feminine voicebank out there. So they really deserve more fame for that title alone. Their voice is amazing, and they are versatile in more ways than one.
The quality may be really good but the voice itself isn't thaaaat appealing for some reason. Its good no doubt, and in Kyaami's hand its practically magic but Vocaloids like Yukari and Iroha and even Miku to some extent just have a generally more likable voice, flaws and all.
Probably just personal opinion, welp
KnotApps VY1 is intended to sound as a generic japanese female voice. The tone itself is actually based on Miku, but with a more realistic and accurate timbre (and proper pronounciation).
Iroha and Yukari have more realistic timbres because of their less "cutesy" sound, they are more mature voices.
VY1 was just created to cover up the flaws and imperfections that previous vocaloids like Miku, Rin or SF-A2 miki have. The timbre of the voice wasn't the most important factor in her development.
KnotApps : That's merely your opinion which may serve as example to back up your claim. But personally, VY1 has the most interesting female voice to me, simply because it's so versatile-- she can sound like most other feminine VOCALOIDs but she also has her own unique charm.
You cited Yukari as an example of a more interesting vocal. Yuzuki Yukari was also developed to have similar appeal--realistic, generic Japanese female voice--but she isn't as successful, in my opinion. VY1 surpasses her in quality, power, and versatility. Yukari only successfully became a beloved mascot in the VOCALOID fan base, but she is a flop in the professional industry because she has very limited range, style, and capabilities.
VY1 was not made to be a beloved token character in the fan base, so it's understandable that you wouldn't find VY1 appealing. They're made to be a genderless, mascot-less, personality-less instrument for professional use. That's why VY1 is so realistic and clean-cut. (But it's also why VY1's sales suffered initially.)
cillia,, you have such a way with VOCALOID that is so unique to you. It's like your can find the secret to every voice bank and utilize it to its fullest. You're such a inspiration and every new upload is a gift from the deities.

After 2 years, I'm still listening to this. If VY1 and VY2 came out with character models, they would blow up IMO. There superior default-configurated sounds and kyaami's goddess-tier tuning just makes me want to hear more and more covers with VY1.

What's the problem? It's just a "friendly" name for VY1, which is more formal. It's not so weird call her like that.

So far, you're the only one who makes very good Vocaloid covers. Well, in my opinion. The way you put the emotion in VY14's voice is extremely soothing and satisfying. It merges well with the song. I nearly spit my coffee out of my mouth when i played the video and was shocked how beautiful the cover is. I also love your Otomachi Una Melt cover because i can listen how powerful Una's voice is in the song. Most covers don't usually give Una her usual powerful voice which doesn't really blow me away and doesn't really give me any hype despite the fact that they made a cover of my favorite Vocaloid song but you really blew me away from that cover and it really gave me the hype and the excitement that i wished for when hearing Una's voice.
You've done well, kyaami. Keep the good work up!

Bam Shepherd : Codename just means a name used in development. It's not VY1's real name. You are correct in saying it's MIZKI (although it'd be romanized as 'mizuki' directly from Japanese). Technically you shouldn't call VY1 either MIZKI, MIZUKI, or anything in between. It's just VY1.
