Chukars are the cutest lil guys! I love to watch them group up at sundown and run off to bed. There is a sign near the jailhouse I think that tells you about them. Thanks for giving the Harvey House and bridge a positive shout out , we aint got much out here on Tatooine but like it that way 😊

I live in Salem, OR… so of course I also love your Enchanted Forest episodes, too. My parents were married for 24 years before I surprised them as their one and only… and they took me everywhere. So I’ve been blessed to have been to every state except Alaska and Hawaii and over 60K miles in 26 other countries (again just traveling with Mom and Dad when I was 5 withthe ‘71 VW Bus). 🤓
I used to work for Adamson Design Group for 23 years (better known as Church Art Works, Varsity Mascot Co., Throttle Design Mechanics, and One Way Out). Seems if we ever lost an artist, they either went to Nike or Electric Light Studio. ha ha 😇 But seriously, I started as the Systems guy after my Apple days, where then later I was asked to be the Operations and Executive Director… where we were super blessed to work with the best of the best of the best (not to sound like a Marine). 😂I always used to say that I could draw really great stick figures, but we had stud designs (like you) that are still fantastic friends today. Folks like John Nissen, who on his own/on the side, did tons of work for the Tooth & Nail Records (Seattle); did all the Tom Fests; and did all the MXPX Dudes. Then through all those divisions… we even got to do like the LA Lakers, Georgetown Bulldogs, Dallas Mavericks designs for Nike (just to name a few). And others like Upward Basketball, Meguiar’s (before John sold to 3M), BASF, Industrial Finishes, Summit Racing, etc. etc. Again, I just got to ride along (you’d fit right in with many of the 4,400+ contacts and friends in the old iPhone… guess I might sound like an old fart! ha ha (but still young in my mid-fifties).
Well, I could go on and on and on (but also don’t want to give you too much eyestrain either). 🤪I tell everyone about your channel, but mostly I just really wanted to encourage you as you have encouraged me and reminded me of so many great memories with my parents in Southern California (and Knott’s and Disney). Thanks for always bringing a smile to my face!!! 😎👍😇

Loved this so much! I’ve been going to Vegas since the late 70’s. I lived there for a year at Caesar’s Palace when I was working on a project there. I’m currently working on 3 shows there now. The Plaza downtown and 2 at the Flamingo so I’m out there a lot. Next time I need to follow your exact path!!! So much still to explore. I’m a creative consultant for the mouse company (you know… all the NDA’s!) but still work internationally. Keep up the great content. Love ya, brother!!

Hey Justin! Santa Me got me your book for Christmas. Just finished it. Fantastic!!! More please! Makes me wish I was part of the inner circle, and could have some interesting conversations. Oh, back in 1980, on a beach trip with friends, our very late night joke became, "Roger Whitaker, what a dip ". Not as good as the Sullivan joke, but same result. 4decades plus later,that joke still resurfaces from time to time. Poor Mr W (singer, not the actor), we had a lot of fun at his expense......

In the 1970s, the cemetery at Calico still had bones exposed on top of the soil. My brother picked up an old leather woman's shoe that was lying around; it had a human bone remnant inside of it.
Fun fact...that Calico bird is called a Chukar. Relative of the pheasant. Now you know...And knowing is half the battle!
The birds are Guinea Fowl. They make great security, they make a heck of a racket.

My great grandfather came to Nevada as a pony express boy my grandfather and father worked for the post office we are very rare individuals to find ! There is a new terribles in Nipton that sells lotto! But this figures you come to Vegas when me and my family is in Louisiana for Christmas vacation! Have fun get off the strip go straight up the road Charleston to red rock canyon pack a lunch stop at spring mountain ranch state park for a picnic that is me any kids most favorite spot in all of Las Vegas!

All I know about the birds is that "Hitchcock would be proud." BTW - White Castles are pretty much an acquired taste, you had to have grown up with them. (My Dad used to call them grease burger belly bombers.) Regardless, my wife and I (both turning 60 this year) still pick some up on the way home from sports events, comedy clubs, and concerts that we go to.(we go to a lot of concerts)
I don't know the recipe. But, a good friend of mine's mother, used to make a hot sauce so hot, when making it you had to wear a clear plastic face shield, and you had to mix it in a glass or ceramic bowl with a wooden spoon :) I once smelled it and that was bad enough. Chukar Partridge.
Bold black and white bars on the flanks: This is the most distinctive feature of the Chukar.
White face with a black gorget: The black band across the throat is another key identifier.
Red legs and bill: These are also typical of the Chukar.
Overall body shape and size: It has the plump body and short tail of a partridge.
Chukar Partridges are native to Eurasia but have been introduced to many parts of North America, so it's possible to find them in a variety of habitats.
Those birds are called Chuckers. I think they were introduced from Asia. Related to quail and partridges.

That depends Justin, have you ever heard of, or been inside of a place known as, "Buc-ee's??" I've never actually been to one, I don't travel all that much, and when I do it's usually mostly by plane, but I've seen other RUclipsrs do videos insidecof tgem, and it kind of reminds me of a combo., of Super Wal-Mart, the old, "Stuckey's," roadside places that used to be all up & down I-95 along the East Coast, a Wawa Convenience store, a Cracker Barrel Restaurant, a Tractor Supply Store, minus the baby chickens, and whatnot, and some of the bigger truck stops I've been inside of over time, although for me they've been few & far between. I'm betting a Buc-ee's would stand up to that Eddie's pretty well, of course Buc-ee's is a chain of places.
Yep, those birds I believe are a species of Partridge. Thank Goodness For Google Images, Otherwise I likely wouldn't have been able to figure that out. At 1st I was thinking it might have been some type of Guinea Fowl, but they didn't look big enough for that, then I was thinking they were a type of Quail, but they usually have like a little kind of, "dingly feather-thing," on top of their heads, so I looked up pics of what a Partridge looked like and turns out that's what matched the best appearance-wise.
