    So glad I found this video, I've had this game for ages but - as I am new to solitaire board games - kinda lost hope in learning it so gave up. Now I can dust it off and have a go! Thanks! 👍

    Hi! Decision Games has edited LRDG again in 2023 with some changes to the map and also to the mission cards. A video reviewing these new features and explaining how they affect the game would be great. Thank you so much.

      Thank you for the update. If I can get a copy of the revised game I can certainly consider an updated video. Great suggestion for a new video!

    Were you able to start from Kufra because it's an allied base? I ask because it was west of the safe line. Great video!

    • @learnthisgame6612
      @learnthisgame6612  2 года назад

      Good question. The commandos were able to start at any of the bases (Rule 9.0) indicated by the white/black circles per the Terrain Key on the map. The scenario year being played does not restrict use of any of the bases. The safe lines (Rule 39.1) just allow forces east of them to ignore any card generating OPFOR units for the designated scenario year. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching!

    This was a really helpful video. Thanks for posting. I am about to play my first game and I had some rules questions that you’ve cleared up for me. A quick note-I just recently got this game (about a week ago), and I see that my map and rules have a 2023 copyright. It seems that there have been some small but significant changes with the new edition. The DAK counter is now placed randomly for each mission, rather than being assigned by the Mission Card. Jalo is now a base (and I have the odd situation as I’m about to play the Raid Rommel mission that one of my Objective Markers is on Jalo-I’m wondering if there is a rules oversight there, because if that marker ends up being a real objective, it’s already at a base, but if it’s a minefield, that doesn’t make sense-I think I’ll re-roll it). The rule regarding flipping Objective Markers is also a bit different-it seems that now you have to draw an Event Card when you enter a space with an Objective Marker, conduct any combat if required, then flip the marker, and if it’s a Minefield, you don’t draw a second Event Card. These notes are more FYI for you all, and for people coming to this video hoping to get play advice. I hadn’t run across your channel before, and I see you’ve done videos for a number of games I want to learn. This one was very well done. Looking forward to utilizing your instructions in future games.

      Thank you for the helpful feedback. I will have to see if the updates warrant a revised video.Some of the mini games videos still planned for this channel are Lawrence of Arabia, Rogers' Rangers', and Ceres: Operation Stolen Base. Hope you enjoy your game!

      @@learnthisgame6612 I played two times, lost both because the Commandos couldn’t roll for beans (once I rolled 5 threes!) and the Axis were all about their sixes, but had a great time. I’ll keep an eye out for those three games you mentioned-the one based on TE Lawrence sounds particularly interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

    Really useful vid thanks. One question at 19.15. I read rules 38.1 that the second event card only is replaced (11.0.4). So first event as normal, then flip objective and either mine event or second event card. What do you think?

    • @learnthisgame6612
      @learnthisgame6612  Год назад +1

      Hi Matthew, thank you for the question. In reviewing the rules again, I agree with you. The scenario exception is only to rule 11.0.4 and NOT for the first Event Card, so there should have been an Event card drawn upon entering the space. Good catch!

    Hi! I have a doubt about the attack secuence. Suppose it is the enemy side's turn to attack: the rules say that the unit that fires must attack against the player's unit located in the first position of its alignment.. but what if the first unit of the player's line is panicked. .. The enemy side must also shoot at that panicked unit or must jump over it and attack the next unit in the lineup. What do you think? Thanks for your help. Grettings from Spain!

    • @learnthisgame6612

      Hello to you in Spain! If you refer to rule 19.2 Battle Results Table in the Commando main rules (not the scenario rules) it states that a unit that receives a second Panic result is eliminated, so I would direct the enemy units to fire at the player's first unit even if it is Panicked because it can still be eliminated with another Panic result. That is my understanding. Hope this helps and thank you for the question.
