  • I'm gardening in zone 6 and our last frost date isn't until May 15 - almost a month away! The winter has been mild, but yesterday we experience snow, sleet, and ice and all of my plants survived because of Frost Blankets! If you're gardening in the early spring or late fall, frost blankets are a great way to extend the growing season & protect your plants from impending death.
I am growing cold weather crops, but with temperatures in the mid-20s last night, they definitely wouldn't have made it without the frost blankets. According to the specs, this 2.5oz frost blanket provides 8-10 degrees of frost / freezing protection, which is a huge buffer from cold weather snaps. The one downside to frost blankets is that they reduce light transmission to 40%, so it may slow growth, but at least your plants will be alive!
