Lawn Care Tips: Killing Weeds, Organic Grub Control, & Grass Seed for Dogs

In this video I talk about 3 hugely important topics for Lawn Care: How to Control & Kill Weeds in your Lawn, Organic Grub Control, and ways to improve & optimize the Germination of your Grass Seed. Basically I talk about how I took my lawn from a weed-filled dirt-patch to a nice lush lawn.
That process began with killing the clover, dandelions, and crabgrass with Anderson's 22-0-4 Fertilizer with Trimec. Trimec is a post emergent herbicide that kills weeds after they have come up.
After I killed half of my lawn, then it was time to grow grass seed to fill in the patches. I used AM Leonard Tall Fescue because it is a tough grass that holds up to full sun, lots of foot traffic (and hopefully the dogs)!
To ensure a strong germination, I watered the seed in with Hydretain - a humectant & humate product that draws moisture to the soil and also helps build a healthier soil by providing carbon and chelating locked-up nutrients in the soil.
The final fertilizer product I discuss, Black Gypsum DG, has similar modes of action with the humic acid it provides, but it also packs a punch of calcium and sulfur for overall plant health and a guaranteed green-up.
Finally, for a natural & organic grub control I used GrubHALT! Bt - which is a beneficial bacteria that kills grubs in your lawn. If you're seeing light green or yellow patches in your lawn - you definitely need Grub Halt! Those light green or yellow patches are essentially signs that these grubs are below the soil munching on the roots of your precious grass.
