- Join me on the latest BodeVision episode as I unleash the ultimate transformation on my 1965 GMC shop truck's old dump bed. Witness the magic as I cut off the sides and shorten the entire bed by 1 foot, converting it into an insanely cool 8' custom flat bed. The customization doesn't stop there - I craft a unique headboard/wall, adding a touch of style between the bed and the cab. Using dimple dies, I create mind-blowing design panels, showcasing the art of custom fabrication. Get ready for a welding extravaganza and valuable tips as I take you through the entire process. But that's not all - watch as I upgrade my shop with a game-changing winch for effortless vehicle pulls. This is a master class in truck bed customization you don't want to miss! My uncle would have scrapped that rusty bed and then realized he couldn't afford a nicer one. Way to make something cool out of that beat up old bed.
As a commercial truck driver who does flatbed, I was glad you elected to retain the rail and points for securing. Makes it cooler due to functionality.
Say guy. I like your work and the spirit you put doing your work. I will be watching this whole build. Peace out. LEOIII
Looks slick! Boxes behind the cab for sure. Makes sense for storage and body lines. Wood rails are going to be awesome in the c-channel on the bed 🤫
Can’t wait to see when you blend the patina paint. Good work.
Hell, my third uncle twice removed coulda done that in half the time, plus all he uses for tooling is a handheld torch and metal coat hangers.
This dude has some energy, that makes me want to go out to my garage install a winch into the concrete and get going on my own truck build . Then I remember I live in an apartment and don't have a garage 😅
My Uncle would have done a better job! lol Looks good man great job thus far.
Adam.... Just an idea... You can wire 2 momentary push buttons (parallel with the remote controller buttons) and put them in an insulated box outside the shed..you also can add a breaker switch in order to deactivate the winch ...
You're the man! From a fellow skateboarder and car guy! keep up the awesome builds!
Thanks man! Skate or die right?!
Exactly! You go down and pick yourself back up and dust yourself off. Continue progressing and evolving and never give up unless your in your 50’s like me. Then skateboarding is not as fun because of my old ass getting hurt.
Man, it would be cool to see you build a swingset for your daughter.. she'd love it and it could be out there in the back with your workshop..
he could just install a swing on the gantry.
@@theotherbrent hahahah, naw man knowing him he would build it out of chromoly tubing with nice Tig welds and gussets...
He already did… he hung a cargo strap from the corners of the gantry lift, she swings from that.
Not only is it a cool looking dump flat bed it's also a skateboard ramp. Awesome to watch your design visions and enginuity, can't wait to see those storage boxes.
My Uncle would have finished this truck and had 3 DUIs in it already.
Looking awesome, love how the bed front matches the rear panel but upside down. 👌
Awesome, a real long video with HEAPS of progress! Lovin' it!
Generally I think you can get a straighter cut if you cut on the other side of the tape. In other words, put the tape on the side of the line you want to keep, then when you cut you get right up to it like when you’re filing to a finished size.
9:12 ok now I see you’re keeping material on both sides of the line. Nevermind. 😂
This thing is coming together..going to be a nice grocery getter fo sho! Definitely agree on the storage boxes in front of the rear wheels under the bed....personally i wouldn't do anything on rear. Nonetheless sick build and as always thanks fro bringing us along
My buddy’s uncle (michael lavon robinson) became first lady in january 2009.
I'm loving it so far. I'd definitely keep the option open for a dump bed in the future. Some basic wooden sides that drop into the stake pockets and it would be awesome for dump runs or something.
You could always reduce the pressure in the tires if you run into minor height issues getting in and out of your shop. It certainly won't roll as easy, but the winch will handle it.
My uncle would have not been sober enough to do what you are doing.
I’m digging this build.
Truck is looking good dude!
dude, they're not intrusive thoughts. coming from Capt ADD, they're just thoughts. Gotta follow those bad boys or you'll be coming out at midnight to see if you could do it
Man, my uncle always uses a grinder to open clamshell packages too!
Amazing gotta have some fun while you’re working.
Big progress Adam. I like it a lot. Have a good one. Dutch regards Nico.
Lovin the dimple dies! Do you have a link for what set you are using? Thanks!
It is looking good, and I love the wheels and match real good to that style truck. My uncle would do the same thing. Lol 👍👍
Maybe some sort of metal mudflap behind the rear wheels.
The dimple die if you want to do it on thick metal like that cut down your bolt to use it as a locator pin and just stick it in the press
My uncle would have made the bed a foot longer not shorter to compensate for his little you know what ….
My uncle is dead so he wouldn't have done a better job.
Flatbed trucks are the best looking truck ever!!
My uncles would dig this as much as I do!
Good work man that’s a badass build 👍
Can we atleast get a cold start of the accord every now and then? 😂
Let's go bode can't wait to see it finished
Love the Saturday morning uploads. Reminds me of watching Trucks! and GearZ as a kid.
Looks sweet man love those wheels
Those dimple dyes suck and don’t work as advertised. I had better luck hole sawing then using that as only a dimple, not a shear. Loving the progress!
Nothing like skateboarding off your dump bed!!😂😂😂😂😂
My uncel havnt! Sudjest something, if your keeping the dumper bed action, do some fenders for the backwheels... And make/ put in some strap points on top of the bed, not just at the sides....
Good to have you dad to help, but now as you said, more independent to work, BUT NOT ALWAYS GOOD TO WORK ALONE, IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS!
GOOD JOB ADAM!
Sure you don't want to make this one another give a way? LOL. Really digging this build. I totally would've put that headache rack on with ribs out without even thinking, looks so much better how you did it.
Just came across your channel only two weeks ago, love your unique builds and how you walk us through the process of everything! I only know basic car stuff and can’t weld yet, but you channel inspires me and makes me want to build stuff like this! Thanks for all the time and energy put into every video!!!
I've said it before, but again I have to say your doing an incredible job. I really like how you put these videos together. I always smile when I see your family members helping or just out there with you. Great stuff.
Thanks again!
I envy you for having green grass to enjoy. Upstate NY didn't have a white Christmas but over the last 3 weeks that has changed. Impressive skate board skills. The build looks great
Such a badass lookin trukk! The colors are perfect. You could even leave the replacement panels black and seal everything just like that and it would be killer. Great job!!
Bed looks good. I have an 05 f350 I wanted a flatbed on... but hard to find one I like
Sick 🛻🛹
Absolutely love what you did to the flat bed Adam you are doing a great job on it so far and are progressing well. That winch will be so much better for moving the truck in and out of the workshop, looking forward to the next one👌👍John UK
This is looking good man! Don't get me starting at my uncle's way of doin stuff..... Really like this series (well just like all the other ones)
thats dope AF, the slambox was awsome but I have a feeling this dumper will top it quite nicely. keep puttin it in bro. we're here for it.
My Uncle would have done those dimple dies with his fist. The winch would be for getting my aunt off the porch and into the shop. 😂😂Looking good bode!!
Has that prerunner trophy truck look about it,IM DIGGIN IT!
Good call with the winch bro!!🍻👌 I like how you never pass up an opportunity to have a bit of fun. All work & no play...
My uncle would have just lowered the driveway instead of using a chain lift. Rookie 😒
Lookin good bodie but a true headache rack is suppose to protect you from something flying theu the back window . Something made out of aluminum that was removable to cover the window would look awsome maybe some louvers that way you could have the best of both .
My uncle says he would put bins that follow the contours of the cab. Maybe another couple of patch panels flipped and would help keep the shape uniform. 😁
This bed is cool. I need to make one i never considered the haf height headache rack but now i think its the only way to go. Appreciate ya
My uncle would still be trying to get off the ground after skating off that sweet flat bed. Nice work
My uncle wouldn't have broken the dimple die 👍
I used to get embarrassed when people talked about my dimples, but they were nowhere near as nice as these...
I think you just answered yourself if you want to make it into a dump bed again.
You could also use those anchors for other things as well, like if you ever need to bolt down a piece you are working on
As a father myself, maybe use some red electrical tape and put a swirl on the wench line so little one doesn’t run into a trip wire.
Man I like where this is going,Adam!
Uncle Frank would have finished it in an afternoon 😅
Comment about how my uncle is better at editing videos
My uncle would have wiped out on the skate board
The Dumper looks awesome love the flat bed and wheels
Beautiful weather in Florida. I emptied my semi in Jacksonville and going to Universal Studios in Orlando... in Daytona now and it's awsome
Yes definitely we can’t complain!
You need to do a collab whit cleetus to get more subs my uncle said😂
Saddle tanks in front of the rear wheels and bins behind…..
Still lookin dope. Lookin forward to next vid.
Getting a lot of work done! Looking sick!
lookin great, let's call it a headboard.
Lowering tire pressure works wonders too!
Everything you do is a work of art.
Truck is coming along great 👍
Really enjoying the dump bed build. Currently looking for some brake cylinders for a 1961 C60 Viking. Where did you purchase your cylinders from?
Summit
I love the way that bed turned out. My cousin mounted a wench to his wall to help moving his 1948 Ford project truck, he ran 4 long bolts through the wall to a thick metal plate. I don't know if it's strong enough, but it's been about a year & 1/2 & so far, so good.
When i was younger i was mounting wenches too😂😂😂
Nicely done. I saw that Casey gave you a shout out on the Slambox! Crossover coming...?
A crx might need paint….
I have to be honest I wasn't feeling this build at first but the more I am watching this series on the dumper I can actually visualize I your plan and I'm loving it
Thanks for sticking around!
still looking for my uncle
Not so much of a dump truck now
What motor are you putting in it?
Check previous videos in this truck. SBC
Yes sbc
New to your channel, ya'll are doing a great job, love the flatbed! You have a beautiful dog, what breed?
Thanks for checking out the video! She’s an Australian Shepherd, absolutely awesome breed and one of the smartest as well.
Beat at 6:41. Whose it by? 😮
It’s lookin good man.
Looking pretty cool
you really should prop the bed when lifted, it would be a terrible way for your wife and kid to find you.
Did you see the large jack stand ? Give me some credit
Awesome video👍👍👍👍👍
It’s looking good!!!
You all have such incredible energy, I love this video
Thanks! See you all soon!
It is great to see you adapt when met with a challenge. Now you have to get the dump working for skating. Making it a work and recreation vehicle. Keep up the great content.
Dang son
dumper be dumpin
Most excellent 😎
Are those 8 lug wheels? Specs on wheels and tires please!
17x8 and 33” tires
Spot on wheel color choice, great build!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looking good👍😁
