XITA in arabic is a winter season and not the rain , rain in arabic is (MATAR المطر ) but in ALGERIAN dialect or TUNISIAN we say also XITA to rain and write it ( chta الشتاء) , we use arabic words with a different meaining just like MALTI i still dont know how they have a some words of our dialect , whats the story of this simelarity , i know that in the past an arabs was in MALTA but to make sure this is not a middle east arabic .. this is a mix of Arabic from north africa .. (ALGERIA , TUNISEA , MOROCCO) i wanna know whats the relation between north africa and malta . klamkum bhal klamna , tahia likum from ALGERIA .
At the end I understood they're saying في الشمس و الشتاء في البرد و الندى 😁there are truly common words with the Tunisian Arabic but it's hard to understand with the different accent and the Latinization.
we maltese cant understand or read Tunisian nor any other Arabic language unless we learn the language...but yes, you are right - there are a couple of similarly sounding words but Maltese is not Arabic...
hekk hu . the language similarities between maltese and tunisian is huge . have friends in tunisia and when it was at its best i visited loads of time and i just spoke maltese with anyone.

@@38-jishjilson89 that can't be true. You have to learn 2 completely separate languages to learn Maltese. You'll always hear while learning Maltese: "okay, this word is Arabic. Now this one is Italian. Oh, that is English." So, what's the point??? Either you turn it into completely Arabic (instead of 60%) and write in Arabic script, or just adopt Italian altogether. If I were Maltese, I'd do either / or. Not remain confused like that with a perplexed identity.
@@MusculaRMinD Why should they want to turn their language into Arabic and write it in the Arabic alphabet. They aren't Muslims and so they don't believe in the unalterability of Classical Arabic. They're Roman Catholics, that justifies why they prefer the Latin alphabet. They don't identify as Arab's nor do they have the Arab-Islamic outlook of things. And what I was talking about is the ease of learning a language. For someone who knows English, Maltese is way easier than Arabic to learn. The Arabic abjad doesn't properly mark vowels , which is too difficult for a beginner. Secondly, Maltese borrows heavily from Italian, a Romance language of Latin descent. More than 60 percent of English vocabulary is of Romance origin making it easier to associate those Italian loanwords with English words they already know. Also, English has also contributed several words to Maltese. Hence it's way easier than Arabic to learn.
@@MusculaRMinD More than 30 percent of English vocabulary is French in origin. Another 30 percent is of Latin origin. French is ultimately of Latin descent. As you can see the amount of Latinate vocabulary is considerably higher than the Germanic vocabulary I.e the native English vocabulary. But they don't suffer from any identity crisis. For them, they are English and that's all. The same applies to the Maltese. What if it's half Arabic and half Italian. They have developed a unique language of their own that reflects their origin and their traditional religion (through the Latin script). They can develop their own national identity with just that. There is no need to completely Arabize or Italianize themselves, for they are neither Italians nor Arabs. They are Maltese.
