I bought this lens years ago as a standard lens on my Nikon D300, a kind of wide normal and I also chipped it to communicate with the newer cameras. It was multi coated from its first inception and very good aimed at the sun like you mentioned. It’s one of my favourites on my D700 and works well full frame and APSC formats. Wide open it has a nice glow as well you noted, and stopping down it sharpens up nicely. I also like to use it at night where the wide aperture aids focussing. I really like the bokeh as well. It is also a great macro lens reversed. I own the original N.C. Version with the metal sculpted hill and dale focussing ring. All in all a good review a nice reminder on how these old timers can live very nicely on mirrorless cameras. Regards Gerry

The 28mm f2, there aren’t many reviews on this lens. After admiring it for several years I finally bought it.
Good lens, enjoy shooting with it!
