Congrats on going under contract on the house!!! So exciting! I hope it works out for you guys 🤗 We just moved 3,200 miles to our dream location 3 weeks ago. It's been a whirlwind. Our first house fell through too. It definitely worked out for the better though! The house we are in now isn't everything we wanted but I'm excited to do some renos. Interest rates right now are just bonkers and we couldnt afford the absolute dream. The move was the fresh start we needed and our mental health is way more important than the perfect house. Just take it one day at a time ❤ My move still isn't going smoothly but I'm trying to look forward at the big picture! To be honest, most of it has been a nightmare, but we are pushing through and know once the dust settles we are going to be much happier in this chapter of life. I have a tip buy every single thing before you move out of your old home so you don’t need to spend money that you might not have at the time. Replace each room one at a time it will make your life so much easier.Just a suggestion if not start a house fund and start little by little if you’re able to layaway really came in handy for reasons like this.

So you are using the same dirty water all the time. Best to use a divider bucket, as I do, with Libman Wonder Mop. I use Murphy's Oil on one side of the bucket and clean rinse water on the other. I haven't done my girls room in a while. I did just deep clean their room but as far as changing it up maybe the beginning of next year 😊. My oldest just turned 13 last month too! And my 2nd oldest turned 10. I played flute when i was younger. My girls haven't picked up on an instrument yet but they both love to sing and have a microphone for that. Absolutely! And a lot of times now she cleans it to so each time she leaves just a little it starts piling up in corners and stuff but she working at it.
@MomLikely I'm proud of her!!!! It's hard sometimes to clean when the mess gets bigger, but as long as she sticks with it and gets a routine down, it will be easier for her and you ❤️
It’s also a challenge when you’re in a smaller space. Our house is so small and it’s hard to find a home for everything we have. We have gotten rid of so much, but it’s tough. I pray you get the home you want and need!

For my daughter we had a theme for infancy, preschool, preteen and now teenager and that’s probably the last makeover as she now likes only black and anime 😂 my son has been super easy. I stuck to gray, black and green and those colors will grow with him through foxes as an infant and now tractors as an almost 8 year old.

I agree with changing the room up when it’s doable for the parent. I love what you did in the room and you made it such a clean, happy place for her. I was so gross when I was a teenager, I have no idea how my parents put up with my crap. I clean my 6 yeards room every single day. He is gross haha. Love him so much but I find the weirdest stuff tucked in corners of his room and I don’t want bugs in my house. Anyway good luck on the house! I hope it all works out! As far as helpful home tips im regard to moving. 1. Purge items before you move so you aren't taking unnecessary things or things that you dont use. 2. Assess what area will need new things so you can budget (i.e. your daughter just got a room update so the only thing she may need is new desk and chair and possibly a dresser.) 3. Be ok with what you have and just a few light "touch-ups". For example I purchased artwork, pillow covers, and rug but kept my sofa and tv stand etc. As far as how frequently I room refresh, I don't base mine on a time I base it on how I feel. Sometimes you can update a space so well and it doesn't bother you for a year or more.
Youre lucky you can shop for a home now, most people have to worry about selling theirs first, then hope they can find something fast that they really like before they have to move out.
Just a heads up, dont know if you own this house you are living. But..... if you are looking now, i would start patching holes and repainting anything that needs it. It will help you sell it.

I do believe it's been about 7 months ago or longer where you did a room make over for each of your daughters, now here we are again. At the age of thirteen don't you think she should be learning how to keep her room more organized and cleaner. if you keep doing it for them and not teach them how to do it aren't you in a sense an enabler of bad behavior just asking?

Exactly! It has become harder to share lifestyle type cleaning video because of all the negative exposure to the kids. My older daughter as I have shared also doesn’t like to be filmed. I wouldn’t show their rooms at all but families like watching kids room for ideas and motivation for those types of messes. It’s definitely been difficult but understanding like yours and other positive viewers have kept me here. ❤️

Let me add that I didn’t buy new furniture for each time, usually blanket, curtains and maybe paint.
