first its never safe to start with a diamond on the down sweep side of the wheel you accidentally start in to deep and boom there goes the wheel exploding, same when starting to grind with the first pass NEVER ON THE DOWN SWEEP!!! and I can understand the cup wheel because you are using the edge of the wheel that is tolerable to use that kind of wheel. and to jaakko fagerlund you just learned the axis wrong at first they are using the correct axis for 3d movement x and y are 2 axis until you add the z then its 3 dimensional. cooling is not usually needed when grinding small objects because the dissipate heat very quickly but when available always use a coolant to control excess heat.
There are alternate procedures pending your shop's grinding equipment. If grinding ejector pins more than once I suggest building an L shaped vertical holding vee block to fit your existing clamp, notch the base to clear the head diameter sized to grind your return pins. The clamping surface need to only 1 - 2 inches long, clearance the 90 degree V surfaces 1/64 inch to the base. A head clearance slot similar to the base notch could be ground across every 2 inches to provide known length increment stops.
It's call V-block clamp...not C clamp...pretty awful video! Not sure why using a cup wheel on the surface grinder...better to use the O.D. of the surface grinding wheel and use coolant if you can... measure when cooled down.
