Firestore also bills you for the amount of time the server worked to read and write the data for you in addition to this firestore pricing, ex: for 200,000 reads it would be 0.15$ for Firestore + cost incurred for the server to do this for you but MongoDB does not have that additional cost to my knowledge

I think the choice to use a serverless database comes down to how big your team is. If you work with a lot of people and a subset of the group can maintain a dedicated database (and the size of your project is big enough-which it probably is considering the size of the team), then a dedicated database makes more sense. If you are a solo developer (and you DON’T need SQL), then serverless makes more sense. (I still don’t know of any good serverless SQL options).

Ultimately, serverless is good for small apps, dedicated is good for big apps, and there is a gray area for apps that scale up and down over time.

Mongodb querying and aggregation capabilities are way more powerful than firestore. I used both and thinking just looking at price is not a fair comparison
