My dad, an Italian chef, cooked the broccoli first... pulled it out of the water and let it rest. Put pasta into the same broccoli water to cook. Sautéed garlic, pepperoncino and olive oil, adding the broccoli and cooking it down to infuse the oil garlic flavor. Added the al dente pasta to the pan with oily broccoli and fried together, adding pasta water to make it creamy. No bouillon cubes used. No cheese needed.
