That is awesome.
This is indeed beautiful and inspiring.
Very cool, I would do this at the other end too.
Are those waterproof? also do you have the website I can order from?
i wonder if this would work with a salt water pool
Hello JoeTeck, I'm a little curious about reliability of those LED strips. Its because the use of detergents for the maintenance of the pool, just like the very common used chlorine. With that said, does the LED strips presented any problem with that? Btw, nice LED array. The pool looks amazing.
That's Really Cool, But I would recommend getting one which has a Bluetooth or Wifi (Alexa) receiver and when its connected to the mobile the LED lights can Dance with the beat and would look nice in a pool Party, very good use of LED strips so far and got the idea from the music in the background
This is WAY before those existed. ;)
I sent you a PM on the forum
Hi i have the same pool like you. Would you please teach me how to stick the strip light to the metal? What kind of glue/ adhesive or tape you use?? Thank you very much
Nice😊
Nice pool look
T Brown Records thank you very much..
What brand of light strips did you use and where can I find them?
what kind of hot glue was used? looking to perform a similar task
Nice video, definitely a big help in deciding whether or not these would be a good fit in our pool. Suggestion: You should do the entire perimeter of your pool, it looks half done.
I only needed it for the deep end for my kids.
@@Joeteck Curious how they're holding up? I realize this is 3 years ago. Did they weather well?
@@KeystoneState i funny you should ask. They lasted about 2 years. Then I switched to this. ruclips.net/video/szzaDRqBOiM/видео.html
Thanks for the video. I put leds on our pool and the Walk way at our house. We love these light I'm debating doing our living room and bedroom we have kids and they love them our son is 2 and our baby girl is 3 months
What kind of led strips did you buy
@@sailorall20 some off of Amazon but they ended up rusting. But they do have waterproof covers you can buy for them. Just look up led steps on Amazon and then led strip waterproof covers
Great idea! How did you attach the lights to the side of your pool? Glue? Adhesive? That is a vinyl lined pool? Mine is vinyl. Thanks.
Adhesive and hot glue for good measure..
Time for a pool party! You already got the music. Calvin Harris-"Summer"
montgomb3 under water
Thank you for sharing!
Joeteck POOL TIME !!!(!!
Joeteck thank you for sharing to Joeteck's
No problem!
Nice, Joe. Not sure if it's the video or not, but it looks as though you've textured the bottom of the pool somehow? If so, what did you use?
Thank you! No texture. That is the liner of the pool. That would have been cool if Gunite looked like that! Hope you become a subscriber! Giveaway coming soon!
My concern is the power supply. You have to use a true isolation transformer, can you share what brand & model you used? Most Chinese transformers leak full power through the ground. Check out BigClive on RUclips for tear downs and ground testing.
Looks really nice, so that parts great.
Also, for folks not as knowledgeable about electrical work a small isolate solar 12v charger & battery could be a nice simple option.
Great concerns and AWESOME question! This is what I use... amzn.to/2mbXs2S 100% Water proof.
Hey Joe- awesome job!
Two quick questions if you don't mind.
1. Did you use ip65 or ip67 led strips? I'm doing the same to my pool and the lights aren't submerged so I figure ip65. Any thoughts?
2. Were you worried the hot glue would damage the vinyl liner?
...Btw- I'm doing the entire pool which is 108 Lin ft so wish me luck on wiring and soldering.
Is it dangerous? Like can u get hit by electricity while swimming if anythung goes wrong ?
Lol, no. All low voltage. But good question
if someone alway jump close to them and splashed them are they going to fall or break?
Not if you put them on correctly. I didn't say it in the video, but Perma bond 200 works great! Use blue painters tape to hold it on. do it every 12 to 16 inches. You'll be golden.
Better than crazy glue! here is the link: amzn.to/2TSR98T
Hello there!! Did you install this lights under the water or just on top around the pool...?
On the aluminum cover
Does the hot glue gun technique hold up? I'm thinking about doing the same but scared it won't hold up. My pool goes from 3ft to 10ft. I keep searching for what glue to use but can't seem to get a good answer.
Do this instead, this is an alternate way: ruclips.net/video/szzaDRqBOiM/видео.html&t
Marine silicon works maybe littlen better
Hi, looks good and has been a while since your project was put together. I was just wondering how is it all holding together now that time has past. Burnt leds, strips falling off, water damage to any led, etc. I'm kinda thinking of doing as similar project and simply wanted to know the good and bad about the whole project. I have a concrete pool with tiles and no lighting at all. Yes I know blame the original owners of the house. I don't want to go digging holes around the pool then drilling in the concrete so thought your idea may actually be more convenient depending how long it would last. I know one problem would be kids kicking the strips clean of trying to get out of the side of the pool instead of using the stairs. Any way any update would be great and nice work look good.
Hussy Projects thank you for the kind words. I will be making a follow up video this summer
Hussy, check out my updated video: ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=szzaDRqBOiM
Joeteck great just wanted to know if everything was going ok before I did the same
No, I've upgraded to a newer setup. However, if adults are only swimming in the pool it should last forever.
What brand did you use and are they waterproof??
China brand. and yes.. But I wouldnt go this way now.. try this instead: ruclips.net/video/szzaDRqBOiM/видео.html
Would the lights give a nicer glow if they were submerged in the water?
I would not want it on my liner. God forbid rhe liner got cut from the lights. However if you dont have kids hopefully youll be safe. Youll need to drop the water level down as well to stick it to the liner.
@@Joeteck I'm in AZ the pools here are plaster. No liner.
do you have them attached to the liner
Jeanette Murphy no.. attached them under the aluminum railing. the liner may be dangerous, hot glue may melt it.
Jeanette Murphy Thank you for the question / comment and hope you become a subscriber!
Im curious how long this project lasted? I can see these led strips getting torn off in no time by frolicking kids.
bigbusa1 there are repairs from time to time.
now we have linear light effects and underwater IP68 swimming pool neon strip light.
Please make sure you have any electrical plugged into a gfci receptacle. Just to keep everyone safe!
Its 12v, and everything outside by law has to be.
Hi, would you tell me which lights you use and where can I buy them ?? thanks.

Thanks you

How many feet did you buy?
LOL, they are cheap enough, I bought 4 sets. Keep in mind, its a pain-in-the-arse to solder (connect) more strips together. It can be done, just need to take your time. You're good with a soldering iron? I use a butane type. I do not like to be tethered. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MJW08JK?ie=UTF8&tag=joeteck-20&camp=1789&linkCode=xm2&creativeASIN=B00MJW08JK DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THE REPEATER! You will blow out the driver that comes with it.. Just a FYI..
You could hear Katy perry Dark horse at 1:30😂
Do you have an install video?
I do not, I no longer use it this way. I use LED pucks
@@Joeteck great video... what made you switch from cable style to the puck lights? Are thebattery pucks as bright as you had with the hard wired?
@@johnnigro5791 do a search for them..they look amazing
@@Joeteck they do look amazing just worried about battery life how long do they typically last you? thanks for all the insight you provide
That alligator was scary
FLORIDAERO lol.. OK. thanks for the comment! haha
How many times have you been shocked
none, its low voltage. I see you do not understand electrical theory. The AC power supply is a special type; water proof. amzn.to/2DzhJsI or amzn.to/2DDc1WR or amzn.to/2IMLxq8 The AC source is 50 feet away or more from the pool. silly... ;)
I'm about to do the same to my pool.. how's it holding up
@@jurassicpark85 i have since changed it to this type instead: ruclips.net/video/szzaDRqBOiM/видео.html
@@Joeteck I did the same thing last year I put thread sealer to keep water from getting past the seals .. works great but I hate changing battery's..my pools 24ft round 8 lights is perfect... thanks for responding ..
Ok this video does nothing to show someone how to go about installing it. Looks nice but not very informative
Fair enough. However, the title does not say "How to install LED lights around a pool".
Furthermore if you have technical skills you may be able to figure that part it out. ;)
Thanks for making it 25,885 views... lol
no problem still a cool video... I like the idea.
