simply beautiful i need a cd of this so i can listen to it all the time.......seriously this is what kind of music ppl need n there life.....this is so peacfull i wish i knew how to do this stuff
It was this video that inspired me to learn how to play didge. I think the sounds of the hang and the didge combine perfectly to produce a very hypnotic vibe. Love it.
First time I ever heard a hang drum. What a wonderful instrument! Obviously a forerunner to the steel drum. Beautifully matched to the drone of the digeridoos.
@Naunk Holy Crap Yes!! That groove in the Palace Harem with the chick singing! I've just left a character standing on that level with my volume pumped up for hours before. That tune seriously rocks.
Jebus, I actually get goosebumps when I hear the power of a didgeridoo and any "primal" (that is, in no way synthesized) percussion. Really makes me wonder if under all these layers of "civility and culture, mixed and molded in a city environment" I'm really hiding my primal self, the rhythmic creature, a Human. I can't help but sway along and simply enjoy the soundscapes of the world.
thanks for the comment, yeah they didn't really know anything about mics, etc, morning news show in Fresno, 6:00 AM in the morning too, just sort of went in there and everybody improved a bit when they said "go", plus we only play and see each other once a year :)
@Victorgoleche75 Circular breathing. The technique involves using a small reservoir of air in the mouth to sustain the drone while air is inhaled through the nose.
I've heard Graham Wiggins (aka Dr Didg) talk at length about all this. The aboriginals he learned with had no problem with the didge being used as a musical instrument, since this had very little to do with the way they used it in ceremony. When he brought back an Outback CD they loved it. I play West African djembe and all the drummers I have met in Guinea have been delighted that I play their music and bring in back to England. Still, there'll always be those with 'hang-ups' (pardon the pun!)
Thanks. Heh, yeah, I know what you mean, they are scarce, got mine years ago when they were cheap. There are 2 or 3 different companies working on VERY similar type instruments, they should be hitting the market within 6 months.
@Envee211 OneSkiWonder is right on this one, Envee. It took me about two weeks to learn it and now it's as natural as breathing. Makes the didge a delight to play. There are several good vids that explain how it's done. Once you get past the initial coordination of the component parts you'll wonder what took you so long. Don't be discouraged !!!
yes it is circular breathing. I have been playing the didgeridoo for 5 months and I had circular breathing down in the first month. I suggest you get one, they are incredible.
Actually there is lovely little 'barks' the artist can do, if you look up other videos you can hear some very interesting pitch and tempo combinations.
If you enjoyed this you should do a search for --Didgeridoo Duet---its two guys didg-jamming in what looks like a gazeebo in the jungle. Its REALLY great
Yep, you're right, Rimjaw, just how those two keep their rhythm, and if they are apart with other instruments playing, it's also a visual way for each of them to tell where the other one is, as far as the rhythms go.
many thanks for the advice, i will look into it for sure. i found a device called 'POWER BREATHE' on the internet which many athletes are using to exercise the muscles around the lungs, this is very good for asthma and other lung illnesses, consult your doctor before using, but it would be a good idea for you aswell as playing didgeridoo
You go John!
One of the coolest music I’ve ever heard since I was young! Thank you!
You are very welcome! My first RUclips video too!

@Naunk Holy Crap Yes!!
That groove in the Palace Harem with the chick singing! I've just left a character standing on that level with my volume pumped up for hours before. That tune seriously rocks.

Damn I love the way they play it a lot. It takes a lot of practice!
realy good, its sounds mystical and meditative.
le didjeredou me fait planer !! j adore!!! tellement envie d etre qu une avec la nature et danser pour la forêt!
5/5. What a powerful, positive vibe
True, but it's that droning quality to it that makes it unique and mesmerizing...like an uncomplicated bagpipe or accordion.
I love this, deeply spiritual and yet not religious in any way. I can listen to this for hours. :3
I saw this video in 2007. Great video!

Yes , it is called "Biji-Bo" in the Welsh language. I have a big one which is quite old , but still works well. It has some interesting features
life is a continuous unheard sound, i think the didgeridoo shows what that sound is like.
Very nice thanks
wow! that's really great!
hypnotizing sounds...
I really like the sound of the Hang Drum, I have never seen something like that before. That's really cool.
