I read this book and it reminded me so much of my (now ex) bf and his mother. I had no idea they made it into a film! Def gonna watch 👀

This looks fascinating. Pfeiffer is always a gem in any film. Another great performer in Hollyweird that has been ignored by the Oscar Academy. But who is going to go to a movie theatre in this pandemic to see it?

@@martinpalmers9061 okay. and on what do you base that statement. (serious question). did you already see it.
because it looks like a pretty decent black comedy.

@@jobob47 Listen, the whole time watching the film I didnt care about anyone or their situation. It also drags too long. The only thing I got from it was Michelle Pfeiffer’s charismatic performance. And trust me it gets really weird in the 2nd act and 3rd act. This movie is the most bizarre thing ive seen all year.

@@jobob47 And I said the same about Ammonite. I got to watch it early and when the trailer dropped people were screaming ITS GONNA BE A MASTERPIECE OMG and I told them that its just a mediocre movie thats forgettable. Then they got all defensive and said its gonna be a masterpiece because theres Winslet and Ronan.

The punch line makes this movie worth watching. "My plan was to die before the money runs out, but i kept not dying... so here i am" ! - very Oscars.

I still remember her Big Break in "Delta House" (a short-lived TV adaptation of "Animal House.) as "B-Bomb." SHE was going to get a break sooner rather than later! I saw her in "Scarface" "Married to the Mob" and "Witches of Eastwick." I am going to support her by going to the theater this weekend.
Michelle-so sorry you didn't win the Golden Globes or get an Oscar nod for this film!
This woman is like fine French cheese-
when it's young...it don't stink bad enough to be Good.

this feels like a continuation of that Whit Stillman movie Metropolitan, but sharply focused on the outsider young man and his mother (we hardly saw in the movie)
