All the writters in the show have more than 50 collective years in Harvard actually. Nicknamed: The most overeducated group of writers ever. I think that's the name.
Dr. Cockter the Cock Doctor The initial writers were mostly Harvard former students,a reasonable part of them mathematicians, yeah. With time, both Simpsons and Futurama escalated even more in writer knowledge.
whale sharks don't hunt. There mouth is large enough that by just opening it, enough krill and plankton will enter that she can subsist on. That is why they are called whale sharks
destiny is a weird tool in storytelling to me, its like profecy, its just the storytellers getting away with what they want without explanation. whys he the chosen one? its preordained. why did she die? cause it was always meant to happen. there's a control without explanation and that doesn't mesh well with me since i relate to things like my own world, random chance without motive.
Agreed. I think it's fine in fantasy (though often overdone at this point), but it's weird to put the idea of "destiny" into a plot without gods or some kind of "higher power".
Pak Huide No, but it doesn't really make sense as something "naturally occurring" since it's inherently spiritual (at least in that it's not physical. You don't have a "physical" destiny, since that would make it less "destiny" and more "people choosing to point you in specific directions") and therefore not within reality.
Pallavi Sanyal Short Term Memory Loss, aka Anterograde Amnesia, is the inability to turn short term memory into long term memory. Assuming whatever gave her this disorder (I haven't seen the movie) happened after she grew up, then yeah she should remember all this crap already.
mixmastermind yeah, Dory was apparently born with the disability, which would make those vivid flashbacks impossible if she was a person in the real world.
mixmastermind In the story, she had short term memory loss even as a child. Her parents had to come up with special ways to help her remember important things.
AeridisArt It is actually impossible for Dory to be born with short term memory loss, since it is an acquired trait and therefore not hereditary. Matpat actually has a two-parter theory on how Dory is actually faking in the first movie. It's really good, and teaches you about the science behind movies; kind of like this channel does.
Am I the only one who noticed Dori's memory of how her parents handled her as a kid actually changed at the end? Early on her memory was of them not letting her go play with the other kids bcause she was going to get lost, but by the end her memory was of her parents having faith in her and gladly telling her to go have fun.
this movie could´ve had an even better meaning, that of acceptance. In my ideal version of the movie Dory finds the trail of shells near the rehabilatation center. She realizes her parents never gave up and had hopes she´d come back and die waiting for her. Then in an instant she remember Marlin and Nemo and realizes that she has to save them, her new family
The hidden meaning is Andrew Stanton lost Disney $200 million with John Carter and didn't want to stay in director jail, so he made a cash-cow sequel to his original cash-cow, because everyone loves Dory and Disney knew it'd make money. That's literally it.
Is there any? I mean, I liked the movie, but even with all the simbology regarding the dark and light side (such as the use of colours in the death of Han Solo scene) I don't think it deserves a video...
There really isn't a hidden meaning in Force Awakens. The only thing it teaches is that if you repackage the same product with slight differences people will willingly buy it again...but that's not new, Call of Duty has been doing that for years.
Vixx Celacea The ending to me was the best part. It shows perfectly how the robot has become completely"human" The striving for freedom, for knowledge, the rage against those who oppresse us, the fight for you basic "human" rights is something inherited on every single human being, some animals don't even have it. But she did It's a great told statement of human nature, how this guy thinks he's in an upper position and thinks he can take advantage of these "beings", using them as sexual slaves, maids, keeping them as prisoners, even though he knows well They are suffering. Humans do that to other humans without remorse, now imagine what humans would do to these "human robots" we suddenly find ourselves shocked by how this guy is treating this robots, but we don't care when a priest molests a kid, a politician is part of a trafficking humans group, a dictator starves his people to death etc. It's a very touching and very deep movie, with so many layers and statements, that I find impressing how so many few people give it the recognition it deserves.
... and his dad has psychological disorders. Not sure either of them are disabled. Also, near-sighted, neurotic, missing one-of-eight legs... hardly seem like "disabilities." But he did say "differently-abled" as opposed to "samely-abled." 😆
Is it just me but I find it so satisfying when the wisecrack intro is played (paper scrunching up). Haha think I just re watched that part more than 10 times before watching the actual episode 😂😂😂
you guys are amazing!!!! keep up the great work!!!!!!!!! plz do: 1) the princess bride 2) the little mermaid 3) peter pan 4) Star Trek 1,2,3 5) star wars 1,2,3,7 6) toy story 1,2 7) the karate kid 8) brave 9) Indiana Jones 10) HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1:23 Bud from 'The Abyss' totally gets that joke. 4:10 Nihilists and middle-schoolers agree with that philosophy. 4:30 Notice the conundrum inherent to her philosophy. She rejects planning, relies on chance, yet desires "destiny," indicating that she's a willing slave to every external force that seeks to dictate to her what she should do rather than using intellect or will. 4:46 Again, in keeping with nihilism.
But people with short term memory loss still retain long term memories, different parts of the brain. So plot points with Dory remembering things about her childhood would still be able to stick. She would remember things from her childhood. Awesome video I really like the stuff you guys put out. Thank you for the content.
As directed by Garix (is that how you spell it?) I actually DID get a membership with Audible.com. I'm sure the financial gains to you are minimal, but wanted you to know how great Earthling Cinema is: it's the only show for which I've ever supported a sponsor. That's small, I know, but I'm sure others do it, too, and you don't know. So now you know of one. Keep up the great work! It's funny and insightful.P.S.: 8-bit philosophy and Thug notes are great, too.
I honestly think it would have been better a better ending if she didn't find her family to teach that you should be grateful for friends/family you already have (Marlin and Nemo)
I laughed so hard at the "mentally challenged eagle" part until I realized how true it is and started to cry...
Philosophy of Futurama
Neat!

Diego Sanchez
Your reply to his reply is irrelevant.
Not shown in the movie: Destiny dying from starvation because she can't see well enough to hunt and feed herself.
CybeargPlays
Well y'know,if the Sharks from the first movie can go vegetarian,I'm sure she can too,she good
whale sharks don't hunt. There mouth is large enough that by just opening it, enough krill and plankton will enter that she can subsist on. That is why they are called whale sharks
CybeargPlays also, beluga whales live in the Arctic and Bailey's on a reef. Won't he overheat?
What I hate most about Destiny is that they call her a whale the whole movie therefore she "speaks whale".
He will meet a sexy beluga and he will migrate with her ;)
"represents the difficulty of living in america with obamacare" I DIED

LMAFO
As an American I find this hilarious and amazing
Dude he trashed this movie. I love it!!
Aziz Woodward Comedic satire and thoughtful analysis = 'trashed'. President Trump thanks your for your vote.
he did trash the movie...although satire, there is truth in his mockery, as all great satire does.
B. Smith yeah, but this time he actually did trash the plot
B. Smith he said the only thing driving the plot was a need for a happy ending, I think that explains itself.
"A mentally challenged Eagle: Symbol of America." I'm dead.
The eyebrows make this so much better
destiny is a weird tool in storytelling to me, its like profecy, its just the storytellers getting away with what they want without explanation.

if she has short term memory loss, wouldn't that mean that she has no problem remembering memories from long back?
Pallavi Sanyal Short Term Memory Loss, aka Anterograde Amnesia, is the inability to turn short term memory into long term memory. Assuming whatever gave her this disorder (I haven't seen the movie) happened after she grew up, then yeah she should remember all this crap already.

"Samely abled" - that's a new one for me!
Am I the only one who noticed Dori's memory of how her parents handled her as a kid actually changed at the end? Early on her memory was of them not letting her go play with the other kids bcause she was going to get lost, but by the end her memory was of her parents having faith in her and gladly telling her to go have fun.

Hidden Meaning in Taxi Driver and Ex Machina please.

One of the greatest videos I've seen on RUclips in a long while.
Who ever is doing the subtitles for this show, I love you. The jokes you throw in are marvelous.
I've read, seen and heard quite a few Finding Dory reviews so far, and with this one I finally found the one that said it to the point.
The hidden meaning is Andrew Stanton lost Disney $200 million with John Carter and didn't want to stay in director jail, so he made a cash-cow sequel to his original cash-cow, because everyone loves Dory and Disney knew it'd make money. That's literally it.
Do 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World'!

I have recently heard rumours of an ancient Earthling film by the name of The Sixth Sense. this should definitely be covered.

Are you going to do a hidden meaning of The Force Awakens?
Is there any? I mean, I liked the movie, but even with all the simbology regarding the dark and light side (such as the use of colours in the death of Han Solo scene) I don't think it deserves a video...

"Hey, we can make a Star Wars movie without fucking it up. Watch the rest of new new trilogy please?"
The movie is about moving forward. That's really it.
I want to start using Wisecrack expressions... like...
Samely-abled ~or~
Hellhole paradise 😆
You should do Ex machina
DIIIIS, I personally hated that movie because of the ending.
Vixx Celacea The ending to me was the best part.
It shows perfectly how the robot has become completely"human"
The striving for freedom, for knowledge, the rage against those who oppresse us, the fight for you basic "human" rights is something inherited on every single human being, some animals don't even have it.

Vixx Celacea I would've personally hated it if it was a happy ending. I thought it was perfectly executed imo
AVA!!!
What about Nemo? He has a handicap. Remember his Lucky Fin?
... and his dad has psychological disorders. Not sure either of them are disabled. Also, near-sighted, neurotic, missing one-of-eight legs... hardly seem like "disabilities." But he did say "differently-abled" as opposed to "samely-abled." 😆

Hi
can we get a Christmas special with movies like A Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Elf, and It's a Wonderful Life?
Yes!
When I watched this I got the message that you can do anything. Dory's parents worked out a way that she can be independent like the stones.
wisecrack is such a fitting name for the channel's content - witty, hilarious, but also eloquent and sagacious.
The 2nd part of the analyzis really fits with Kierkegaard and the literal leap of faith in the end
Garyx Wormuloid is freakin awesome 👍🏼

I love how he actually gives the meaning, this one being how the mental belong amoung the amental.

I want a meme of that bird that carries them that's just captioned "FWEEDUM!!1!"

Please do a hidden meaning on SOMA (VG) and/or an 8-bit philosophy on Gödel's incompleteness theorems
I would really love it if Garax Wormuloid reviewed In Time!!!
Do "Mom and Dad Save the World" and/or "The Explorers" (from 1985). I'd love to see Garix's take on our version of meeting aliens!
The problem with using movies to think with is that sometimes the movies are just technicolor vomit with a happy ending.
This was surprisingly deep
Philosophy of Berserk the three movies? Just me on this one? Ok
Man berserk totally deserves a shit ton of wisecrack's videos!!
Lobo Diseña Locura Each video they post about movies/shows I'm going to say Berserk and each Thug Notes I'm going to say Call of Chuthlu. Ya with me?
Ia ia cthulhu ftang!!!
"Except for the other drivers who all died"My mom asked why I was laughing and I said people died.Time for a field trip to a mental ward...
Can I ask for the Philosophy of Luke Cage? Cause I want the philosophy of Luke Cage.
That semi strangled "Oh no" K I L L E D me!
