This is Your best video yet. Your wife Carla is adorable. You both make a great couple. She sounds very understanding. My wife and I are both retired, so money is tighter, but she has no problem with my spending within reason. We seem like kindred spirits. Much Love to You both. Keep up the great work on your channel!
I sincerely want to thank you on behalf of me and my wife for your kind words, we greatly appreciate it...thank you very much 😊...and blessings always to you and your wife and family.
Kenny, your wife is so so AWESOME......to not have to get into arguments about the type of money being spent on what you LOVE is great. Some people don't get it about vinyl and equipment . Music does a lot for people ...I know life would be tough without the MUSIC ... So Ms. Carla you are a darling!!!!!!
Hello Kenny and Carla. First let me tell you how much I enjoy your videos. You are obviously a very honest and sincere man and I'm happy to see that you have a wonderful wife to match. I feel very fortunate to be blessed in much the same way, in that department. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos, and thank you to your wife, for helping to make that happen. She's a very wise woman.👍🏻 All the best to both of you in 2024.
We both want to sincerely thank you very much for your very kind comments and thank you very much for watching this video and all of the videos in the channel that you have watched. We hope that 2024 is a tremendous year for you 😊
Hi Kenny, great video. She is a brilliant wife. Me I have no wife, never had one, just have a Rottweiler (Miss Rotty) who loves the blues. I did recently meet a woman who I had an interest in, but when she saw my record room and after she asked how many records, I told her that there are about 12,000+ LP's and a few thousand CD's, she called me nuts and that most of them needed to go. I showed her the door and told her not to bother coming back. Oh, to have a partner who understands the craziness of being a music collector. For me Miss Rotty comes first, The records second, Audio system third and everything else last. I say....Enjoy the music.
I'm sure that there is someone out there who will accept you and your collection habits 100 percent, I'm confident of that. Thank you very much for viewing my video and your comments and keep enjoying the music 🎶 ✌️
I sent this to my wife because she has always been supported of me buying my vinyl and collecting my 1970's collectable toys. This was indeed your best video and the first time I have sent one of your videos to her, for I only send to my son in L.A. because your videos are the perfect "father-son" connection being 1500 miles away. Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much for your awesome and great comments and your supportive/encouraging words, I greatly appreciate it 😊. Oh by the way, the 1970s (along with the 1960s) was a fantastic era for toys for sure.
Hey Kenny & Carla, Great video! You two are wonderful! I’ve watched episodes of The Audiophilliac where Steve Guttenberg’s wife has appeared and Channel 33RPM with Frank Landry and his wife Sheri. Always nice to see families👍👍 My wife is like Carla in that she sees the joy this hobby brings to me and ignores my spending. Maybe next time Carla can be interviewed for he list of favorite LPs and/or artists!
Kenny, I really enjoyed this video with your wife, Carla. Y'all are great together! My first wife was not supportive of my love for music and my collection. We divorced in 2008 but we get along better now. My current wife IS supportive of my music. She thinks it's awesome I have a massive record collection. She enjoys seeing me light up as a kid when I hear a certain song or just get up and dance to it. What she really likes is hearing a song she forgot about or says you have this?! Yes sir, I hit the jackpot.
Just found your channel (new sub here) and I really enjoyed this video! As a frugal female vinyl collector…I’m with your wife on her response to the costly turntable 😂 “oh nooo”.
You are a lucky man sir....wow,what s great and understanding relationship you have with your better half, after years of collecting records my wife never understood my passion and would complain about the expence ect...until one time on a holiday in spain,i googled record stores and went digging and my wife came along, verry bored and complaining most of the time until i struck gold and found two records i had been looking for for an enternity and nearly hit the roof in the store, after that moment she told me she now understood how it is with people who do this kind of thing, anyway, great content sir, peace and blessings to you and yours, thank you.
Hi Kenny. I just came upon your channel. It is great. I am looking at some of your previous videos to catch up. I am 70 years old and have been collecting records since I was about 15. I have a varied record collection of about 4000 lp’s, mostly R&B. I thoroughly enjoyed this video with your wife & to see how supportive she is. I have been married for 36 years and the biggest disagreements we have is my record collection. You are very fortunate to have her.😊😊😊!!
You are truly blessed to have been married for 36 years 👏. Thank you very much for watching my videos and your kind comments, I really appreciate it 😊 ✌️
Great segment Kenny. You should have her back and have her listen to an album like that Steely Dan UHQR vs the 30.00 one and give her thoughts regarding the pressing, in her own words. I think it would be eye opening. We need more women like her that support us perspective. My wife thinks the same way.
Hey Kenny loved the video man you should check out the hip hop / record collector magazine wax poetics . They have issues that go over several artists and rare records every issue. Each issue highlights an artist ranging from jazz , rock , funk , electronic , and hip hop. My favorite issue is the pharoah sanders and herbie Hancock issue.
I discovered your channel looking up Love. I might have a cassette copy of De Capo hiding in my garage. Your record collection is impressive. You may find, in retirement, a few of those albums will have to put on the resell market. Ten years retired and inflation is a kick in the teeth to my nest egg açcount. Unfortunately, for me, there isn't much of a demand for my AOL cd collection or car repair receipts. 😂
Hahaha. I remember when I first started buying albums getting that I can't wait to hear what it's going to sound like? It became a hobby & something to look foward too every time I got my paycheck. This was when Specs stores were still open & while I was purchasing albums I was getting them to order more for me. It was expensive but it didn't get in the way of anything else. Actually in the long run it was a good thing because I have the benefits of getting into conversations with musically astute people who wouldn't imagine I would have such obscure & not so obscure taste in music. I'm also a fan of older movies from the 60's 70's and 80's.👍
It's true that buying and albums and stereo gear can be a real money pit, but the wonderful thing is that it doesn't have to be! This really is a "choose your own adventure" sort of hobby ... you don't have to go broke to play this game. I always enjoy going to a garage sale or record store or record convention where there's a lot of vinyl to be had. Sometimes I walk out with a stack of records and a big smile on my face, and sometimes I walk out with all my money still in my pocket. It's just fun to flip through the stacks, whether you find anything you just gotta have or not. I have gotten just as much joy out of finding a copy of the Oscar Peterson Trio's "West Side Story" in a grab-bag box outside a record store FOR FREE (true story) as I have from spending a couple hundred bucks on a Mobile Fidelity version of Miles Davis "Bitches Brew". It's all in good fun, hey? Keep rockin', Kenny! You are a lucky man.
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews Hey, Kenny ~ I just went to the library to pick up a video I had on hold, and on the way home I stopped by my local record store just to look ... and ran across an album called "Landslide" by the Curtis Counce Group, on Contemporary Records (1957). Have you ever seen this one? If you do, snap it up! I'd never heard of a bass player named Curtis Counce before, but this store is set up with listening stations, so I was able to give it a spin ... and oh, hell yeah. This band is unbelievable. Anyway, I'm listening to this album right now on my home system, and this thing sounds incredible. Absolutely killer album! For $25 I think I got a hell of a deal.
Hi Kenny and Carla! I am of the opinion as well that if you’ve got your bills covered (and you’re putting a little money away) that you both set aside some to spend however you want (healthy way, that is). It’s all relative in how you spend - some people buy jewelry and watches, some buy expensive cars, trips, concerts (I know someone who just spent $5000 for a Taylor Swift out of town weekend), sports PSLs and tickets and jerseys, what have you. Enjoy life however you please.
Records to me have always been a currency too , me and a mate of mine would sell soul and Barry White records at certain shops then buy Jamaican Pattie curry pies and beer . Or sell records and buy more records . Once I had a beautiful girlfriend from Korea and I sold a bunch of jazz lps and a m XR fuzz pedal. Got a couple of hundred pounds , then I was having paella with my girl in Madrid and seeing a Picasso museum! Great stuff but then found a shop and got a copy of white city a Pete Townsend solo lp . No regrets there what a beautiful weekend. She showed me a photo of her dad , a Korean boxing champ ha ha . He looked tough .
glad something is right with the world, and a cool guy has a nice wife. I also enjoy accumulating albums, but decided to throttle back when the amount of recorded music was clearly going to exceed my listening time and interest. I never counted my records, choosing the simpler method of just estimating the length as if they were all in one stack. that length is my self imposed limit , because of the potential to go too far. The avid turntable mentioned as an example of an expensive turn table has been around for a long time and could almost sell on style alone. The Michell gyro table is a less expensive expression of most of the same Avid design principles, and is still a valid performer, for little over a tenth of the cost, even after first being introduced in 1982, . .
Great video Kenny. Hope you end up making a bunch of $$$$ off RUclips and your channel really grows so you can keep enjoying your passion like you have when your wife is retired.

Carla, did I catch your name right? You're really cool & tolerant, I think Kenny's a lucky guy. Best wishes for your pending retirement...
I am truly fortunate to have her in my life 😊
“We’re not talking about fashion here”. I laughed. Your wife is a sweetheart. You must be a lucky man.
