My notes are getting a little long.....thank you for your videos!! I've been using them and Mr Terry History for notes and I'm hoping I'm absorbing enough, because I have so many pages to flip through on the day of, lol. Just wondering -- Is there a reason why the Mughal rulers were called emperors and not sultans?
Mr. Terry History is great. So, don't stress to much about the length of the notes. Since the exam is open note this year, I would just try and keep them organized by region and time period (maybe put little tabs on the top). When you read the DBQ question, you'll know where to look if you need help with outside evidence. Organization and practice are going to be the key. You need to find out what system works best for you. Some teachers are recommending to not have anything in front of you to slow you down (that's not my suggestion). As for the sultans, long story short, the Mughals overthrew the Delhi Sultanate in the north in the 1550s. They didn't want to take the title Sultan in the goal of starting something new and not reminding the people of them. Hence, empire.
Habiba, The Byzantine Empire and the Crusades are not required to know for the AP exam. They aren't listed anywhere in the required knowledge unit guides published by the College Board. Could it be helpful to know about them, sure. But I don't focus on either (except briefly in how the Ottoman Empire overthrew them and conquered Constantinople in 1453 - leading to European exploration). Hope that helps!!!
