In Italy we have a long tradition of modern singer-songwriters and poetic ballads. Maneskin learnt how to unify this tradition with a genuine rock . The outcome is deep texts with amazing music.
Yes. Well, I'm a 55-year-old woman, and I have to use beta-blockers when I listen to their songs. ☺The gift of poetry is a blessing from God. Their poetry goes metaphysics, into experiences from previous lives. This young man, his introspection, facial expression, full body speech, voice, emotion ... no, he is 1000 years old ... As a woman and as a mother, I can only pray: God, let these young people live to be 27, 33, 50, 60 ... don't let them burn in their own fire. God bless them. I was born to Serbia, my English is not good, I used google translation, but I think you will understand my immense love for these young people ... thank them
Yes, definitively, you get the mood. They are going into our own Classical roots there. When I heard it the first time I wondered if in the intro I was actually hearing an electric guitar or Apollo's Lyre instead..
This song is about the fleeting nature of inspiration. The "woman" they are talking about is Marlene, their muse personified, and they sing about her in several songs, including Torna a Casa. In this case, he is reminiscing about how she comes and goes as she pleases. The video is really well made, you should watch it in conjunction with knowing the lyrics, it turns from metaphoric to literal. Greetings from Portugal!
thank u for explaining the idea for everyone hear! i want everybody who has ever heard about maneskin to watch the music video so muchhhhh. i'd watch in cinema as well
This is actually another song of theirs that is dedicated to Marlena which is a personification of their artistic expression and in the end - their immense talent. Thank you Marlena, from all of us ❤️
Maneskin isn't my type of music generally, but even I absolutely see the excellence the band is. Damiano sings so well, and the lyrics are indeed very deep and really mean something. How I wish lyrics really became a big priority for English speaking singers in the more widely consumed genres.
They always insist on them being all involved in it. Lyrics are credited by all of them and Damiano David or better David Damiano (he sign it incorrectly on purpouse, I think) is always the last one name.
When someone sings with their whole heart like Damiano does, you don't need to understand the lyrics because he's going to make you feel it and convey the meaning of the song anyway. Dimash does the same thing (albeit in a different way). Even so, translations can help you understand what the lyrics mean. But it's not the same as understanding them as they were written. In the original language they just hit different, you know? The translated version is like someone stole a couple of colours out of the rainbow - there's just something missing. So, if you have the time, it really is worth learning some Italian to fully appreciate Måneskin in all their technicolour glory. 😊🌈
Let me put in a simple words. He is making love/s.x with every single performance. He caresses, hugs, kisses, touches and keeps every song very gently with a huge passion.
I enjoy so much the way you enjoy this music! It's super, super nice to hear people who don't speak Italian really feel it, especially since in Europe we are so used to Americans saying NO to everything that is not in English. And if they make it it will be such a great sign of how amazing they are and how good music transcendents. PS: I am not even Italian, but I speak the language and it is just super, super, super nice to hear Italian music make it on the world stage. Thank you!
Its crazy how they getting recognition all over the world, im italian but been traveling for the past 5 years and im currently in sweden and i see ppl listening to them here aswell.
One of the best aspects of Eurovision is that even if a competitor doesn't win, it gives them the best exposure they could ever hope to get. I really hope Maneskin only grows in popularity and becomes an international success. I really hope they keep their songs mostly in Italian too. I think Damiano sings best in his native tongue.
As a Swede I must say I love this band. They deserve this fame. The right winner of Eurovision. Love the Coraline song, so beautiful! As for the comment that Sweden sucks... if you mean the song we sent this year? Yeah wasn't the best. But still we are one of the biggest music producing countries in the world. So I'll take your statement with a grain of salt. ;)
You're 33 years old? What a coincidence, is the same age I had in the profile pic, now I am a bit older and at almost 40 years old I go crazy for Maneskin's music. I read so many comments of people much older that enjoy their music and this is the proof that they are great, to write and sing such a good music at 20 years old, music appreciated by all generations is fantastic!
From an Maneskin interview "Marlena " is like their muse : Marlena is us, the Måneskin, is our message of freedom, of life. It is the Venus of the group, the personification of our freedom, creativity, life. Do you know that Maneskin is the Danish word moonlight shadow ( 'cause Victoria has Danish origins)
Everytime I want to write a comment I hear what you are saying and I just think that's exactly what I wanted to say... Damiano feels every song.. It's like he is telling a story and with that captivating voice and music he just pulls you in and you aren't even aware of it untill it ends...
React to "In Nome Del Padre". Very "rough" song, talks about the growth as an artist, the sacrifices you need to make in order to succeed, and also serves as a reply to whoever sends hate and disapprovement
I also got goosebumps while listening to this song the very first time and every consecutive time for that matter. The lyrics gave me chills. I could instantly feel the emotion. Brilliant lyricist and singer.
The craziest thing they made is "Are You Ready". An italian band who sing a tribal song in the english language with african accent. Another hit is "For Your Love".
From the interviews from this band they write songs together and a lot of their new stuff was written isolated from each other given lockdown Italy. They all agree to the use of their imaginary muse Marlene ..so that tells me it is a tool for all of them to use to channel their songs together. Also having researched them the bassist and guitarist are the ones who started it off and then found the lead singer. But they lived together for their first album and have developed this relationship with each other they say is stronger than being siblings. It feels like that unit means they will be super great.
Remember this: he calls in many songs the name Marlena. Marlena is Not a person, she is The Muse inspiring ihm as an artist, stuck in the creative process. Without the inspitation an artist dies or like he says, fades away. ..
I started with zitti & buoni after eurovision, the rock the look, then discovered the lyrics even more amazing, finally an interview of Damiano. That's the most ficking focking part of all the story. Who he is, what he thinks. God. He could be Master in Meditation. Far more mature than me at 61. Well intentioned, feeling he MUST share his gifts with as many people as possible. He strongly wants to make better each time. The need to play the annoying part of big brother to keep the other three puppies within the rules of respect and professionality. Gosh all that of a man who a few years ago was gathering coins in the street. You should watch when they play together in 2016. Truly kids, little ones and already so damned talented. Some sort of drug they are.
I loved your reaction!! I think several people already told you but what I love about this band is that the character of "Marlena" they're singing about in their first album is not even just a lover but actually an allegory for their creativity, freedom to create art, etc... So when he's feeling "Marlena" slipping away, it's actually his art he's talking about! You should definitely check out la paura del buio!
A few videos ago you said something very important. You said that you probably under no circumstances could you hear this music... fortunately someone attracted Your attention and so here we are all together. The same goes for us from over seas.We uncovered Your channel thanks to maneskin. The world is a Wonderful place ❤️

Wow I just found your channel, been trawling through all the Måneskin videos now. Just really need to say that I love your enthusiasm, and your comments are well placed and well thought out. Love to discover new music with you! Def a sub
As a general useful rule for english speakers: most languages around the world, other than English, has the same pronunciation for the vowels: A like mAmA, E like mEn or fathEr (depending on the word/language), I like bIt or bEEn (depending on the word/language), O like cOre, U like mOOn or pUt (depending on the word/language). If you read a word in most non-English languages, 90% of the times these are the pronunciations for the vowels: the vowel shift was only an English thing. There are exceptions of course (most relevantly the french combinations of vowels), and local specificities, but the probability of getting the pronunciation in the ballpark is very high.
Thank you for your great videos! You have perfectly understood the way they play and he sings! They LIVE their music, they feel it with their hearts, their brains, their souls, their bodies!!!!! I saw them twice (I know, I'm lucky!!) and it was WOWWWWW!!!! The first time in a very small place in Paris and the second one in Milano, in a big place! I hope you will see them live, they are even better than in studio! And they are very very sympathetic!!!! Kisses from France!!!!
The interesting thing about Måneskin's first album 'IL BALLO DELLA VITA' Is that the Marlena you can hear about in the Song it's not a persone actually, it's their muse, Who inspires them. The album it's about the fact that they are losing their Ideas and love about music, but they are aware of the fact that they have ti abandon 'Marlena', to find a new Muse so they can go on.
im realy so happy to find you this band so awesome, they are realy so deep in lyrics, so good voice and charisma of singer and band. . Thanks to eurovision 2021
The key is that every time they mentioned Marlena they're not talking about a real person but they're talking about the personification of them "artistic inspiration" (if we can say it in this way)
Please, if you like hard rock, react to La paura del buio, Lividi sui gomiti and Nel nome del padre in this order... You can find the lyrics in english... Is a rock and roll "crescendo"...
The song is about "Marlena". Marlena is like their muse, inspiration personifyed. There are a lot of videos where they explain the concept of "Marlena", it's really beautiful!
In this song, the theme of lack of inspiration returns. Marlena, Damiano's muse("she is present in another 5 songs maybe) is far away and he feel the pain and fear that" she" won't come back. However you are the best. I love your reactions. Love from Italy.🇮🇹
Thanks for taking the suggestion into consideration! I love this song, the studio version is brilliant. But yes maybe the video would have been blocked. Is my favourite song from them, gives me that oldschool rock vibes!! Love it
May I suggest other two Italian bands that are very different but still kind of interesting? Melancholia - song “LEON” Little Pieces of Marmelade - song “ONE CUP OF HAPPINESS”
You should listen to "Amandoti (amami ancora)" - Måneskin & Manuel Agnelli it's a cover they made with Manuel Agnelli wich is kind of a mentor for them and the harmonies in this are CHILLING
THANKS to follow my advice, I love this song and I am really really happy that you liked it, too. They are absolutely amazing in writing lyrics and yes, Damiano Tha singer writes the lyrics but they are a band in everything they do so also the others are involved in the work for the lyrics
Man, this album has been written from Damiano (the singer). On weekepedia you can find the meaning of the album for the group. I' Italian and I love them so musch.
you are amazing man! the only reactions to our beloved maneskin i watch, but we totally need to give you a very quick insight on how to read italian words :D lots of love!!
the italian language is complex full of verbs and articles. think i am sixty-five years old and it was at least thirty years that I was not excited with music like that .. i'm italian like them and i'm from rome like them .. an added value
Hey man, I'm a rock fan from Italy, it's funny how you mirror myself when I didn't speak English, before learning I butchered every word but I was so curious and loved every new song I listened to :D your open mind about music is quite admirable, there are a lot of people out there who miss a lot of amazing music because of the language barrier. Anyway if you are interested there are a lot of historical Italian rock, alternative and metal bands you could listen to, like Litfiba, Premiata Forneria Marconi, Area, Banca del mutuo soccorso, New Trolls (their song Concerto Grosso is amazing imo), Raphsody of Fire, Goblin, Afterhours, Lacuna Coil, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Rossofuoco. Maybe you will find some songs you like. I'm so happy Maneskin are becoming famous outside of Italy, they really deserve it.
It’s really cool to see live performances from them and compare them to the album versions! I would strongly recommend watching the music video for this song aswell, it’s so haunting. Also even though they are Italian their name is actually Danish and so the å is pronounced like the letter o 😄
I love your reactions! And you also pay attention to the lyrics which is a big plus. Ps. About getting blocked, pausing the og video more often and talking, turning the volume down a little, or (for official music videos in particular) having some kind of filter or censoring stripes on it really helps a lot. [sorry for my English btw, not my first language]
Damiano is indeed the lyricist of the band, not sure it's all him but for the most part it's Damiano. Use google translate it has a pronunciation option. In this case you’d paste “le parole lantane” in the box, select your language (Italian in this case), click the speaker and vuala 😎
Hi Angelo I watched their live gig from Buenes Airies last night, they played three of their ballads and seven songs in .Italian and every song from Teatre D'Ira. The audience were word perfect at singing his ITALIAN lyrics back at him. The atmosphere was intense. Really worth finding it on RUclips. Took a long time before I could settle down to sleep afterwards. They are growing with every concert they play.
exactly the same reaction with me for each of their songs. he writes lyrics and this is actually about inspiration. Marlene (muse) runs through several texts. watch the official video, it's fantastic!
I am an spanish woman 52 year old and Since 1 week ago, I am crazy for Månesking, I am listening all day their songs. And since my punt of view, this lyrics has been wroten about the frustated love between Damiano and Victoria, for the goodone of their band. I have seen some videos where i see to Damiano is completly in loved with Victoria. Sorry about my English, is not good, but I try.
In Italy we have a long tradition of modern singer-songwriters and poetic ballads. Maneskin learnt how to unify this tradition with a genuine rock . The outcome is deep texts with amazing music.

this group is very very good ... the singer lives the music when he sings and live they are wonderful !! 💜💜💜

This is a lot of music I have to listen to :D For real though, I have been looking for a list like this everywhere, thank you!
@@abzo9186 You are welcome friend, I know the struggle ahah
I like your voice and how deeply you feel the lyrics 💝
"Marlena" is their muse, their creativity... she is not a person. Without this creativity, they feel lost
It’s really cool to see live performances from them and compare them to the album versions! I would strongly recommend watching the music video for this song aswell, it’s so haunting.
Also even though they are Italian their name is actually Danish and so the å is pronounced like the letter o 😄
Another thumb up for you dude thanks for final consideration of Damiano and the band
Great review!
Damiano is indeed the lyricist of the band, not sure it's all him but for the most part it's Damiano.
Use google translate it has a pronunciation option.
In this case you’d paste “le parole lantane” in the box, select your language (Italian in this case), click the speaker and vuala 😎
I already know you're gonna love "In nome del padre", can't wait for your reaction to it :P
Negan and Lucille...super cool.
Super cool Måneskin too! 😎
Yessss you noticed negan!! I love you
I like listen 🎧 and observe too! 🤓
Dude we‘ve got the same „and justice for all“ tattoo! 🤘
Ohhh nice!! I wanna see yours
Italians always had the reputation of 'lovers', in every sense possible.
This will always stay with me as my favourite.
I loved this reaction! 💓
Good 😀and thank you so much ❤️❤️
watch this video, you will see the members of the band playing different instruments than the usual ones
exactly the same reaction with me for each of their songs. he writes lyrics and this is actually about inspiration. Marlene (muse) runs through several texts. watch the official video, it's fantastic!
You shuold check out "Lividi sui gomiti" or "Nome del padre figlio spirito santo". They are awesome pure rock energy
I really like Your videos! I recently found You because of these Måneskin vids (Though it's pronounced moh-ne-skin!)
I really like you man!! Always kind :)
The singer Damiano writes all the songs😀
The lyrics...the songs are written together
That "GUSTO"!
Thank you for support
you should watch the official music video for this song. in my opinion a true masterpiece! 😊
my favourite video from them
BRO YOU HAVE AN EXCELLENT TASTE!
the song starts medieval because it is inspired by an italian medieval poetry. of a man who has to leave his love behind to wage war in a foreign land
Please react to "Amandoti" song🤘😘
“Amandoti” is a cover.
Check ‘for your love’ and ‘la paura del buio!’ 😊
MANESKIN MY BAND 🤘🤘🤘❤️
