Thank you for recording and editing this upload. I have my first cruise booked for 2024, it departs from Miami port - so this is nice to see. Looks nice to be able to walk down and watch the cruise ships departing, people fishing etc. Nice!!
My wife and I were on the Insignia that night (Dec. 17th departure ). Wonderful cruise! Didn't realize we were one of so many departures from Miami then. Thanks for posting this video, and showing us what we missed.
The best cruise spotting video I ever come across. I will not able to see such a wonderful video if RUclips have recomanded this. Specially 4 ships in distances with lights on in dark. Great job man. Hope see you more in future.
You came into the port at the right time. 2 weeks ago it was cold here in Hollywood & this morning I woke up with frost on my windows. I do miss delivering to the Port of Miami. It’s crazy on Sunday mornings. The company I worked for had a set delivery time of noon so I had to be there usually at Royal Caribbean at least 2 hours early & show my CDL along with my TWIG card just to upload. I can say without a doubt Carnival & Norwegian are the dirtiest ships to be on. I quit driving truck last year & moved from Miami to Hollywood & don’t miss the traffic going south. I’m looking at December 2023 to take the Panama trip for 17 days on Royal from Miami to Los Angeles. I had to cancel last year.
Sounds like a pretty cool job being able to delivery to the cruise ships!!! And yes, the weather has been super cold in Florida, glad I went when I did. I’ll be down there again at the end of the month, so I’m hoping it warms up a bit!
A little story, back in the early 80's there was a bar/restaurant around 1st and South Pointe Dr. On Saturdays and Sundays they would block off a big table right out in front. Sitting there would be a who's who of the cruise industry, they were there to watch the ships sail, and more importantly bet on who's ships would sail past first, there was serious money being bet and I am sure the Cpt of the first ship got a bonus. Of course in those days you had the Norway then a bunch of smaller ships, nothing like today. My father was an exec with RCCL (now RCL, but it will always be RCCL to me), most weekends Teddy Arison would be there, Micky Arison would be bouncing my baby sister on his knee, he later told me it stopped him from throwing stuff when the NCL ships would get out ahead of the Carnival ships.
These ships passengers are fifty times the population of the islands they are visiting. St Thomas use to fine China and Rolex shops, now they all sell t shirts. Forget visiting the islands and just stay on board.
That is one of the Windstar yachts, used to be with Seabourne. We were on the Star Legend back in March of last year, great ship, great crew, highly recommend.
Seeing all these massive cruise ships in Miami is awesome, but all the Miami skyscrapers and high rises in the background makes it so much more epic!
Today's Lineup:
1. Carnival Sunrise
2. Celebrity Summit
3. Carnival Spirit
4. Oceania Insignia
5. Symphony of the Seas
6. Norwegian Bliss
7. Valiant Lady
I love the Night shots of the ships departing.
