- If you are getting to Miami the day before your cruise and want to make a vacation day out of it, I highly recommend staying at the Holiday Inn-Port of Miami on Biscayne Blvd. It is minutes from the cruise port and within walking distance to so many activities, food and shopping at Bayside Marketplace. Once you are there you do not need to rent an uber besides when you go to the cruise port the next morning. In this video I show the hotel as well as what we did during the day and night life. You can go on a tour to star island or have dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. There is something for everybody. If you are a cruise fanatic like me, you can take a uber across the bridge to Miami Beach where you can watch the cruise ships sail away. It was breath taking to watch them leave at night time. I stayed at YVE December 2023 before going on my cruise. Great price...Great location...but I am going to try this Holiday Inn the next time.
Cruises has shuttle busses to Miami and ft. Lauderdale airports. I paid $37 to go to ft. Lauderdale airport after my cruise on carnival cruise. A lot of people miss that part on cruise web sites.

It looks like the YVE and this Holiday Inn are the same distance from the Port. I stayed at the YVE December 2023 before a cruise. I am going to try this Holiday Inn for my next cruise.
Im doing research about hotels to stay at when we(6) cruise in February 2025 on the Carnival Horizon. Im so excited watching your video. Thanks for your content. I really have to find out how this will work for six people getting from the airport to the Holiday Inn. This is very informative. Stay safe and continue to live the ship life.
Thanks for watching!! It may be best to split up and take an Uber. Usually ride shares are around $20 a person or more and more expensive to rent a private car. I would suggest doing that maybe if it was a further drive. Either way, enjoy!
Also they do have SUV’s on Uber that fit up to 6 but I’m not sure on 6 people plus luggage!

Have you thought about staying closer to the airport? The hotels were a lot cheaper last time I looked! Thats what I would do if not exploring the area.

I wish they did too! You could always go with a transportation company but it will be more money. Will you be traveling alone? The ride is very quick luckily. Uber has an emergency line on the app that has your location. Or stay on the phone with someone during your ride. And always check the license plate so you know it’s your Uber and not some random pretending!

It’s about a 15 min drive (but only 6 miles) to the beach! You just have to go across the bridge because it’s very much city life near the hotel 😊

My drink at the bar in Miami was $30 but on the cruise we were taking out of Miami the next day, we had the drink package so even though we are still paying for drinks up front, it’s not a hefty $30 each time!

Did you book your Uber the night before? I had a bad experience on a different trip at gulf shores where the driver dropped me and I was scrambling to get another one.
I booked it right at the airport after I got my bags. There were so many taxis available too that you won’t be stranded.
My last cruise had a black suv shuttle from the hotel to the port we signed up the night before for only $5.00 and then we tipped also

Great video and very helpful. We are staying at the same hotel next week. We fly into the Miami airport. Does that hotel provide transportation to and from the airport and to the port? There is a group of us about 20. Any info is helpful. Thanks
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately the hotel does not provide transportation. For a group that large and for it to be private, I’d look into Netan tours from the airport. But because the port is so close, it would probably be cheaper to split the group and take individual ubers from the hotel to the cruise. Netan does offer it though!
Just finished watching your video and thanks for insight. We will be cruising out of Miami in April and I am wondering about the Holiday Inn where you stayed. After looking over several reviews, the majority of the comments stated that hotel was old and the rooms weren't updated. Can you comment on the interior of the hotel, especially your room ? Hello and thanks for watching! I wouldn’t say outdated but also not newly renovated. Nothing stood out either way. And honestly we were only in the room to sleep! For us it was about the location. But it definitely didn’t have old moldy smells or anything :)
Also about a minute in a do a quick overview of the room, closet and bathroom in case you missed it!
We book a room there for 2 days, we had ants (a lot) in the room, chipped paint all throughout room and it was just old and dirty. We went the next morning to see if they had any better rooms and was meet with serious nasty attitude from lady at counter. We decided to go to our normal Embassy Suites and asked for a refund for our 2nd day as we prepaid, DENIED! We went out to retrieve our car out back handed them the ticket and the valet brought us a different car which we could of just drove off in if we were criminals. Holiday Inn Miami will never see our money again!! The rest of this video is spot on, and Bayside Market is a must see. Thanks for the video.
Where exactly is drop off point of system shuttle for carnival conquest. once we get our luggage down the shuttle can we find trolleys like airport to carry our luggage upto custom check counter. when and where do you find porters and where to check in the luggage
Once you get your boarding pass for carnival it will say which terminal to go to at the port. Once your transportation takes you there then there will be carnival workers as soon as you get out the car who take your luggage so you do not need to haul it around. They will take your luggage and deliver it to your cabin. Hope this helps!
How is the Miami Airport? Would u recommend flying in n out of Ft Lauderdale? Cruising in August, never been to either.
Miami airport is a bit more chaotic at least in my experience but nothing that would make me not fly out of there. It is just a bit longer to go from ft lauderdale to Miami port but I always look at prices because if the plane ticket is a lot cheaper then it’s definitely worth it!

I pre paid for a shuttle ride for when I got off the cruise. With the traffic the shuttle was not any easier from getting an Uber.
Idk if this is a stupid question but did the Uber drop y’all like RIGHT at the entrance of port for cruise or.. idk lol .. or had to walk some to find royal Caribbean
Yes they did drop us off right out front! There’s different entrances for each cruise so we just told him which one and brought us right to the door basically

That’s the one part of my trip planning I still don’t understand, how do you get from the hotel to the port-where do they drop you and your bags off? Is the port like an airport?

It may be better to rent a car if you are going to be going a lot to places over the few days before. Miami airports website lists all the different car rental company’s they have there if you are flying in
What cruise line let's you bring water on?😊
Royal Carribean allows you to bring 12 bottles on board but you will go through that fast. Carnival and NCL have banned it. I would recommend just bringing a refillable water bottle!
Is there a Marriott near there?
There is one about a 10 min drive away right on the water. It’s another popular location (biscayne bay) but it is getting further from the cruise port if that is what you are visiting for
What if i come in on the plane and want to stay 3 or 4 day in the hotel. No cruiser.
I think it’s in a great location to enjoy Miami without a cruise!
How did u get a voucher for a free breakfast
It was on their actual website when I booked for a promo at the time. I just booked again for August and the promo was not available currently
How far was the Holiday inn port Miami hotel from the airport? Does this hotel have airport transfers?
It was about 25 mins with traffic. It did not have a transfer at the time. We used Uber. There’s also lots of taxis outside the airport ready to go.
Which restaurant can you eat at to watch the cruise ships leave?
Smith & Wollensky in Miami Beach is suppose to be great to watch the cruise ships leave. If you are staying inland more by biscayne LandShark is good for watching the boats but the marina does block the main cruise ship view where Miami Beach you are much closer. Still nice though!

This hotel received horrible views. I cancelled the room and booked somewhere else.
I hope nothing major has changed since I stayed. I plan to stay there again next time I go out of Miami and can update

Ouch. I paid around $250 which was hard for me to do. Saying I don’t care about costs is very off if you actually knew me! But after calculating the costs of transportation to that area from a cheaper hotel or not doing anything fun the day before, it was worth it. I also got breakfast included at a sit down. I won’t just blow my money if it’s not worth the cost. I don’t get paid to go to these places so it’s my hard earned money. I also wouldn’t spend $400 and as you probably know, hotels fluctuate a lot. Prices are even worse than just a year ago for travel making it very hard to justify.
