So are we just going to ignore the fact that the SEC commercials start out just like a Viagra commercial?
No
This is flippin' hilarious. UGA 2002 grad and I love the new SEC commercials. "It Just Means More" is a perfect slogan for the conference. It's impossible to explain, but easy to attack. Katie does a brilliant job of making fun of us without being condescending (or at least being clever in doing so). Kudos Ms Nolan.
So TRUE !! And SO FUNNY !!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s pretty understandable from my point of view - I grew up a fan of South Carolina because both my parents went there, and we had season tickets my entire childhood until the team got better and ticket prices skyrocketed. But it was never really about how successful the team was. It was about the atmosphere of the tailgates, the camaraderie of the fans and being able to walk up to a random stranger’s tent and talk to them as if you’d been friends your entire life.
Those memories will always make me smile, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. My parents met at Carolina, my dad proposed to her on the Horseshoe in the center of campus, and I’m currently attending South Carolina myself.
There’s just a different vibe down here. Yes, historically we have a fairly mediocre football program, yet we still fill the seats and have one of the most passionate fanbases in all of sports, as does every SEC team. Because each fanbase has a much deeper connection to the team than just how successful they are in a given season. Saturdays in the fall are just this time when quite literally entire states get together and forget all their troubles, even if for just a moment. It’s a wonderful thing.
Go cocks 🐔🤙🏻
SPURS UP
Exactly.
It doesn't need to be explained, especially to someone who is from the northeast and didn't even experience a college football team. Geaux Tigers! 🐅 🐯
This video would be a lot funnier if you didn't have people laughing off screen at the most modest jokes.
So we're just gonna ignore the banana in the LSU crowd 😂
Your laugh-track is weird
they're people.
working off screen.
what are you talking about?
"Vander-built for this" 😂🤓😂
Ok the baby in the helmet was weird lol
Not weird. Future dreams of many southern parents.
It just means more is basically “College football is all we got” and that’s not a good thing to advertise.
Katie is hilarious. She's 100% right in everything she's sayin' here. I have absolutely NO choice but to laugh at what she's sayin'. Lol
😁😭😂🤣😅
katie looks soooo bae at the end 😩😩
Aron Avila Katie always looks like that
That might be the gayest thing I've ever read
Your satire of the SEC commercials is literally a perfect representation of why it just means more. Since you have no experience or background with the SEC, we wouldn't expect you to understand it. If you grow up a fan of an SEC team or go to an SEC school, its easy to understand. It just means more to us
It's a group of schools that play sports.
dude it's a joke lol
Well the conference ads are advertising schools in general not the football programs
Spot on! I watched the SEC ad that ran during the Sugar Bowl and was super creeped out!!!!
It's because fans of the sec are so passionate. Those commercials are sick
"mountain west, we're working on it" AHAHAHAHHAHAHA
If you think that was bad, check out the radio callers from Paul Finebaum's SEC Network show.
Finebaum is unironically one of the most powerful men in the American South because of his radio show lol
Oh no....I can smell the Scientology lawyers gearing up
RIP GARBAGE TIME
YOU WILL BE MISSED
...And the show is cancelled.
Ryan Buttram shes on ESPN now
Good video, but what's with the 2 person studio audience cackling in the back ground?
they're the producers lol
The Atlantic Coast Conference.
Bring your A Game.
Love that marketing campaign.
Those ads are all about on the field and on the court.
SEC is not just a football conference.
Tide Pods yes it’s is.
Does anyone else get the vibe that’s she’s in the corner of a supply closet and the ppl laughing are the producers and camera guys also crammed into the supply closet
4 years late but gotta love how many twits in the comments are knee jerk defending this silliness (or better yet saying Nolan is jealous of the SEC when she opens by admitting she doesn't care about college football).
She's right. 100%. This is objectively ridiculous. I just wish she had time to roast some Big 10 commercials because there have been some that have made me wince for sure.
haha can't begin to explain the feeling, but hey, I get it, we're wack. When you're part of the SEC, it really does mean more - more than football, more than yesterday, and always more than before. Anchor down or Roll Tide but either way, welcome to SEC country. SEC SEC SEC - also 100% a cult whoops
Mountain West - Champions in Life!!!
As an Alabama grad. This was awesome.
If you want to get technical the SEC is a vastly more dominate baseball conference than football. They have way more college world series titles than national titles in football.
the South is really going to be the last bastion of baseball talent in the U.S....probably football too honestly. Seems less and less kids in the U.S. outside of the South are playing either sport
This was fantastic. 😂
So there's one dude cackling at all the unfunny bits, but somehow at the end of the unfunny video there is a moderate chorus of laughter that somehow sounds like the same dude layered over and over.
Is it weird that I don’t even really listen to the content... I just stare at Katie
I thought it was really weird till I Started going to UK. the "it just means more" slogan is really accurate.
they look like ads for meds LOL
When I lived in SC, I was amazed on how nuts people were about college sports. There was even sports talk radio just on college football. To give you an idea how crazy they were, the Carolina Panthers were supposed to be located in Columbia SC. If you look at the early logo designs, the panther head was in the shape of SC. The USC college boosters started a huge campaign against it. Said it would hurt college attendance. Nevermind the fact they were sold out constantly for years. So now they play in Charlotte. NC was glad to take them.
PS....the pirate shirt looks better on you than Seinfeld
You must have never been to a sec school. Bless your heart
Fun Fact: When LSU was founded in 1860, its first president was a man named William Tecumseh Sherman...
...Yes, THAT one!!!
stop the laughing in the background. the video didnt need it. if you're going to do it, be tasteful.
brpinkleton laugh tracks - so seventies
Kate you just wouldn't understand, its a southern thing!
zipperzeppa no, she doesn’t understand, it’s an alum pride thing (and I’m a Big 10 alum)
Creepiest laugh track I’ve heard in my life 😨 lmao
4:50 HOLY CRAP! That's Agent Carter's Main villain in their final season! Damn, she's a great actress!
Haters wanna hate,
Lovers wanna love,
Y'all hate the SEC,
cause y'all can't be like us.
Adding a fake audience really waters down everything you say
The south east is less populated and more rural. So considering that most SEC college towns w/out the college would have a population of like 1,000 it means much more to the economy and overall population it the surrounding areas of the college.
That blouse at the end of that cult video Katie's wearing looks just like the pirate shirt Jerry wore on the Tonight Show episode of Seinfeld.
I go to A&M. The SEC commercials are CULT LIKE. So wierd
Lmao finally someone else sees it
It does mean more down here because the fans care more. We don't silicon valley or fashion capitals in the south, but we have college football. That being said, the commercials should take it down a notch. Keep the slogan though.
this is such a great video
U don’t get it because you don’t live here in the south and you’re not a fan to any of the schools here in the sec.
i wish sec was a country i would live there
Michael Newton this comment needs more love
It is a country! The capitol isTuscaloosa. 🐘 Roll Tide! 🐘
It isnt??? Been in GA since 85. This is news to me
Ummmm, they actually tried that about 160 years ago. It didn't work out so well.
Wtf was that? What I suppose to buy after seeing this? A car? Insurance? Viagra?
i'd be scared to mess with the church of scientology :/
RIP Hofstra football. Proud Hofstra alum myself. Class of 2018! #RoarWithPride
And what would be wrong with that?
Yeah, I get that she thinks they’re weird, but there’s not as much there as she wanted to be. Swing and a miss
All SEC playing for the National Championship!
No the winning means more. If your team loses it wrecks your weekend and you have to hear about it for 365 days.
We play the best we try the most from the poor to the rich and weak we are here
I mean, sec is the most powerful conference
I didn't really think the Sec commercials are weird. It seems like Katie was searching for something that wasn't there.
Envyecho It was a commercial for a sports conference that looks like a freakin cult recruitment video. Not weird at all.
Nolan’s laugh track is what’s weird.
She, and apparently some of her fans, aren’t from the South. Otherwise, you would understand. 🐘 Roll Tide! 🐘
espn hot list:
1. katie nolan
2. molly mcgrath
3. charrisa thompson
4. erin andrews
(molly qerim best body)
You betrayed FS1
Katie Nolan showing SEC envy big time! We are just a football conference???? The Ivy League has 46 National Championships in football. The SEC has 29
I have nothing against Katie. But, she just doesn't get it. Being born and raised in the heart of Florida and being A die hard Gators fan, And having A family divided between Florida and Georgia, I have to say, it does mean more.
Sooooo it doesn't mean more if it's another conference. How would you know if you were raised in one place?
Zach Woodward speaking as a northeasterner, I don't get it either. Every northeast state has one (1) Designated Football School, and if you didn't attend that school or live within a 20 minute radius of that school, then college football is irrelevant to your life. So to us worshipping a conference- not just a team, but a whole freakin conference- seems weird.
ladydontekno New Hampshire doesn’t even have a football school, we’re just a state of nothing when it comes to sports 😂😂
More than what? How does that rivalry mean more than other rivalries?
Oh shut up. Half of the fans probably a good portion in hot family, NEVER went or graduated from any SEC school!! So it's so fucking pointless!
Update: Texas and Oklahoma are going to the SEC and the Big 12 is a dumpster and the college football universe is gonna see some changes
you look sturdy, Katie. In a healthy way. 😉
*F L O R I D A G A T O R S*
I love those SECs, those fans are crazee....
Someone else has said it pretty well and I don’t understand why this old video was suggested but you don’t get it because your not in it. Yes other conferences are good and have their traditions but in the SEC it is a way of life. If you live in the southeast for a year or too you will get it. It’s different. I lived in Texas for 4 years and my first year there was a shock, and Texas is probably the closest thing to a southern state outside of the south East you will find, because it was just so different. Yeah they had good teams and TCU was just a few miles away from me, but the level of commitment and care wasn’t even close. Yeah there where a few pockets but in the south East it’s a culture.
Point taken about it being weird. However its overshadowed by katie trying to be funny and failing and then the moronic laughter of what's probably an unpaid intern. Now THATS FUXING WEIRD.
Does anyone else think the part at 5:28 looks like the Jedi Temple's Library at Courcant?
Auburn FTW ( uhh we lost another game) 😕
Will you ever be a mom?
The SEC commercials are supposed to emulate the heartwarming and friendliness of the South. Why does it need to be hectic. Also it shows the SEC means more to people.
It's still creepy.
You're so easy to love Katie Nolan ..
Those commercials aren't creepy really. The seem pretty applicable to real peoples experiences with college sports.
Jeff Tygart no, they're very creepy.
Dade Murphy Nolan’s laugh track is creepy
South
Eastern
Central
Conference
SEC conference
The C in SEC is not conference
Um... Wrong.
If only Katie was a huge college football fan...
it really isn't her fault. college football is rigged now
“Girls are funny get over it”
Cringe God
I haaaate the SEC
I hate your mouth
How are the academics at SEC schools?
it varies
I'm A Nice Guy They're all in the South, that should speak volumes
@@BobooShippy-qr7jy the best engineering schools are georgia tech, Cornell, MIT, michigan...not Florida and georgia
Benjamin Peters nobody said they were better than those schools, but UF, UGA, Vandy and A&M are great schools. Believe it or not, there can be MULTIPLE universities that are good at something.
Also, for the record, South Carolina has the top ranked international business program in the country, a nationally recognized school of Public Health, as well as the #1 Public Honors College.
Not to mention, our School of Music is also quite prestigious with talent from all over the world.
@@barackobama9272 "they are definitely better than the schools in the northeast"
Not the brightest journalist(?), for sure.
WTF is up with the ads? I've never seen so much hype over nothing
why you hate
Bucs Fan 🐊🐊🐊
I just want to know who the girl is on the beach wearing the white dress.
the fuck that looked like a viagra commercial or some shit
Yeh the Securities Exchange Commission is wack
why is hawaii in the MOUNTAIN WEST 😂
Because it was lonely in the Pacific Island Conference.
Katie is so fuckin funny!
umm... college football is a cult. Also, any ad pretty much does this like budweiser
this deserves be in cody ko’s that’s cringe
Lol
The background laughing is weird, it seriously distracts from the content
Pretty terrible until the end
You were great on drunk history but your writers and audience make you terrible on this show.
Same two dudes on the laugh track. It make the video a whole let less funnier.
why
That’s cute Katie but in the beginning of the segment you said yourself that you don’t know anything about college football. So for anyone who doesn’t know about college football or not a fan of it how did you came across this commercial? And how do you know anything about the tradition of college football in the region if you’re not a fan of the sport? That’s the problem with the media these days is that they criticize something they don’t know anything about. Good luck to your show, I have a lot things to criticize about it but I don’t watch it nor a fan so I don’t want to criticize anything I don’t know about.
What is so weird about it? They're talking about the deep tradition that exists in the SEC that doesn't exist in other parts of the country
Basically it looks like an ad for a cult
Like the tradition of getting smacked around by Alabama?
Jonathan Tinsley You don’t live in the South, do you? 🐘 Roll Tide! 🐘
@@judebug329 I live in Kentucky, and it is like a cult and I love my cult

With the exception of Vanderbilt, SEC = Skip Every Class
Vanderbilt is the butt mole of the SEC athletically. Hail state
