They were going to play the same number of games regardless, so instead of playing Oregon in order to get a bye into the QF, they got to play a weaker Tennessee team, and they're still in the QF and perfectly healthy.
If he loses to Oregon, the feeling still stands. Losing to Michigan this season - especially when tOSU has so much better talent and Michigan is in a rebuilding year - is inexcusable.

When you are a head coach at these prestigious schools like Bama, OSU, UGA, Texas, Notre Dame, Clemson, now Oregon that's coming into the picture there is a certain standard. Losing to Jim Harbough isn't a knock on Day, but losing to his protege in his first year as a head coach and you are a 19 point favorite AT HOME, yeah you probably deserve to be on the hot seat after that.
You can’t go into the offseason as Ohio state head coach with no championship and a loss to Michigan.

When I heard Kirk call First Take by name live on air I thought it was a bit unnecessary and that there must be some sort of feud I hadn’t heard about. But if this was a shot out the blue then it deserved a tough response. Because let’s be clear, if the OSU fan base wasn’t so out of control about their hyper focus on Michigan then no one on First Take would have suggested their coach needed to be fired over losing to one particular team. But what SA said was accurate cause had the game gone the other way Kirk wouldn’t have shot his mouth off because to my knowledge he didn’t before the game so he too needed to see how OSU performed before making his statement.
