    Well done mate. Thanks for posting this, its gonna be helpful to plan mine. Wanna do it in 2 weeks time as a present for my 40th. By the way, first song was the best soundtrack for it, the best one from XX in my opinion.

      Thanks for the nice comment buddy 👍 love intro by xx. Have a good bicycle ride to Paris, the avenue verte from Dieppe to Paris was one of the best tours I've done, really would recommend that part of the route. Cheers 👍

    Looking to cycle to Paris from Plymouth . Your video was awesome . And could be a great help for us . Getting the bikes to London would probably be the hardest part . Trains in this country just don’t cater for bikes ha ha .

      Thanks mate, yeah you can actually book bikes on lots of trains in this country if you book a bit in advance (sometimes you can get lucky and book late if no one has done it but you need to buy your ticket first and then book a space for your bicycle). I've actually taken my bicycle from Plymouth to London by train, and there's a separate carriage for bicycle storage. I went to Plymouth as I had just done a bicycle tour in Brittany France, and came back via Roscoff. Hope that helps. All the best.

      Hey thanks for the nice comment. And ah cool London to Paris along the avenue verte route is very nice, one of my favorite routes I've completed. However its important to build up to doing large distances a day, and also doing a bicycle tour (i.e. multiple day trips) doing every day makes it more important to do that. I cycled on a mountain bicycle to Paris. If you are planning on doing a lot of off road cycling as well they are good to have however for long distance bicycle touring, I believe a hybrid bicycle / touring bicycle is more ideal and you would find it easier to cycle than a MTB. A hybrid is what I currently cycle with, mine is called a boardman mx comp and its great for touring, thin wheels, light bike but also has front suspension so good for doing off road bits. I use this website to plan the route cycle.travel/map it is very good at plotting routes, you want to follow roads to guildford along the national cycle network via woking, then the downs link to shoreham from Guildford. Then along the coast to Newhaven where you get the ferry. Then follow the Avenue Verte route to Paris. I had no problems cycling in to Paris, some of the outskirts of Paris looked a bit dodgy people shouting in the street and people hanging around, but if you plan the days well and don't end up a late at night to Paris I don't see a problem. There is another lady that has a popular London to Paris video on youtube, she had no problems and most likely no one would . I hope you enjoy your trip

    Hello, nice video! I am looking at cycling from Dieppe to Geneva with my 12 year old Daughter. I am wondering if you have cycled this route? The route you took from Dieppe to Paris looked very flat. Is there anyway we could only cycle on cycle paths and not in the road?
    Thankyou for posting.

    • @RobHuntersAdventures
      @RobHuntersAdventures  Год назад +1

      Hi Hayley sorry for the late reply, forgot to reply to this one. The route from Dieppe to forge Les eaux is flat as it's on an old railway line converted to cycle track but there are several smaller hills after this town until you reach the Seine. When your carrying stuff with panniers on bikes it makes hills more challenging. I don't know anything about the route post Paris. Sorry, I would suggest you post on bicycle touring fscebook groups or bicycle touring forums.If you want flat the best bet is to follow river cycle routes / or rail trails if there any as they are generally flat I know the river Rhine is all flat all the way from Holland down to Basel in Switzerland. And you might be able to follow paths to Geneva from there but I imagine that last bit would be hilly . I think Paris to Geneva could have a fair few hills. You can see how hilly a route is using the online route planner komoot.com or cycle.travel/map that's what I've done before and you would be able to play the flattest route on there (by looking at the elevation changes on each route). They are both good route planners for cycling. Also would be able to see how much of the route is off-road and roads on these websites. Hope that helps.

    Cheers for video mate. Did you do dieppe to paris in one day? If so how long it take?

    • @RobHuntersAdventures
      @RobHuntersAdventures  Год назад +1

      Hi mate, I arrived at dieppe if my memory is correct around 3pm, so didn't cycled very far on the first day just to neufchatel en bray as it was September and days aren't that long. Next day I cycled to near Cergy, which is close to the outskirts of Paris. Next day into inner city Paris. In total I did London to Paris in 4 days. 1.5 days on UK side , 2.5 days on french side.

      @@RobHuntersAdventures I’m arriving in dieppe at about 5am and aim to get to Paris by 20:00. I’ve done 112 miles in a day before so I’m hoping I’ll be fine

    Great vid Rob, you document your cycle tours really well visually. I am looking forward to your future vids. On your Dunstable Downs and Luton vid you appear to have changed your set up to a chest mounted camera, is that some sort of gimbal that you have now? Cheers Steve

      Thanks Steve. I bought the new gopro the other month and it came with a chest harness so that's why the new videos changed - haven't got around to ordering a mount for the handlebar yet (and my old one only works on the contour cameras). But yeah, before I set of my next long tour I'll be changing to the original setup. I prefer for my arms not to be blocking the view all the time :) Rob

    15:59 I was assaulted on May 15th by two Africans. Flew home for emergency surgery. Not a good memory.
    So how is your handlebar setup? I have little space for video and find video to be a bit of a pain to manage while on the road. Can you explain how you do it?

      I brought my bicycle back from Paris by taking it with me on a train to Rouen then a train to Dieppe. I brought it on the ferry to Newhaven then my dad was kind enough to give me a lift back from Newhaven. You don't need to book in advance for bicycles on trains in France. If you want to use the Eurostar you need to put it in a box and dismantle bicycle I believe - which I didn't want to do at the time. Hope that's helps, also replied to your other comment.

      Hello. Thankyou for responding to me. I am looking at bringing our bikes back by the train, but it does say they need to be dismantled or I need to book a reservation. I do not understand the website to reserve so I will be dismantling them and then putting them into Carry cases so I can take them for free and do not need to reserve. Wow this needs a lot of planning haha
