  • Disassembly of the old engine from the M1A motorcycle. The engine was released in 1953.In 1951, the production of M1A motorcycles (copies of DKW RT125) was transferred to the Minsk Bicycle Plant.
    DKW RT125 in 1940 was an advanced design for its time, and also very technologically advanced. Its creators wanted to see a Volkswagen motorcycle in it, it was a harmonious combination of such technical solutions as an engine in a block with a gearbox, a two-channel loop purge of a cylinder with small fins, by today's standards, which was cast from cast iron and had raw (cast) purge channels , constant mesh gears in the gearbox, pedal shifting.
    At M1A, the ignition key and control lamp were located in the headlight, the reel, relay and other devices were in one block - a black box under the seat.
    At the beginning it was a single-seat motorcycle with an unsprung rear wheel and a spring-loaded telescopic front fork. The engine was equipped with the simplest K-30 carburetor with a diffuser diameter of only 16 mm, and a simple mesh air filter with a diameter of only 70 mm, consisting of a set of stamped meshes rolled into a metal case, which was equipped with a damper, when closed, the air flow was reduced, the combustible mixture was enriched.
    The electrical system included a DC generator and a battery. The motorcycle was equipped with a three-speed gearbox and an open final drive chain. The engine developed a power of 4.25 hp. at 4500 rpm. crankshaft, which allowed to reach a maximum speed of 70 km / h. The engine itself, although it had a cast-iron cylinder, was quite light - 17.5 kg. this was achieved not only by a compact design, but also by a cast aluminum crankcase and cylinder head.

    К-125, мы его называли Кашка или Козлик, предшественник Ковровца К-175 и серии Восходов. Ещё такой двигатель но с принудительным охлаждением стоял на трёхколёсных инвалидках. В шестидесятых у меня был такой.

    отличный двигатель! Тяговитый , хоть и малооборотистый , он чем-то схож с ИЖ - 49. Вот исли б ему поставить бсз и более современный карбюратор , то полагаю характеристики значительно улучшились
