  • I had a couple of requests to show the 2nd floor master bathroom tub in operation. I learned a couple of things myself from operating it here.

    I've actually never seen one of these in action. My vacation rental has one and I wanted to see how it works before I get there. Thanks for the video!

    Controlling those jets are paramount to an enjoyable experience in that tub. Once you get in it and turn it on, it'll be great for a short while, then get boring. If you add a splash of soap, shampoo, or body wash, it will start sudsing up. Because the pump introduces air into (some) of the jets (I would check the booklet for that tub to see if that's normal operation; seems strange to me that it would do that), the suds will continue to build and build and build and will keep building and overflow the tub.
    However, when the suds get dangerously high, all you have to do is adjust them and shut the air off, then you'll have a thick blanket of suds on top of the water and they won't build anymore. Should they dissipate enough that you want more, just switch the air on again.
    Most of these tubs have the jets higher that the intake. There's no check valve or anything, so when it's shut off and the water level goes below the intake, it will automatically drain out of the system.

    • @Sharkie626
      @Sharkie626  7 лет назад

      Maybe lowering those three jets a bit will stop the air, but I'm pretty sure the air is normal. I think most tubs do that on certain settings.
      I'm quite glad I don't have to do anything to get the jets to drain. I think the tub here in the LI house requires that, but I guess SOMETHING was designed better over the years.

    • @jaykay18
      @jaykay18 7 лет назад

      The one in Patty's mother's house in CT you can control the air. You'll see it one day.
      I think demonstrating the tub made the location of the faucet even MORE retarded, now the hot and cold are reverse because you're behind it!

    • @Sharkie626
      @Sharkie626  7 лет назад +2

      Look forward to it!
      Hey, I'm not the one who designed the tub or set it up! :P
      Besides, I have enough common sense to know that since I am behind the faucet, the cold water valve is simply "left behind" it. And I mean it's not like anyone else will be using the tub (unless I let them), so, nothing to worry about! :D

    • @jaykay18
      @jaykay18 7 лет назад +1

      At this point they should have installed the faucet backwards so the water goes onto the floor ;-p

    How does the Tub GFCI activate?

    • @Sharkie626

      Sharkie626 oh ok! Thanks. But how is the button gonna survive all the water?
      1 year later...
      I'm guessing once the water contacts the switch that activates the jets in the tub will pop the GFCI or breaker, and water damage the switch.
