Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield. Since 1992, the band has consisted of Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitars, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitars, backing vocals). They established themselves as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement of the early 1980s. The band's greatest commercial success came between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. Their first album, 1980's On Through the Night, reached the Top 15 in the UK but received little notice elsewhere. Their second album, 1981's High 'n' Dry, was produced by Mutt Lange, who helped them begin to define their melodic, hard rock style, and the album's most popular track "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" became one of the first rock videos played on MTV in 1982, but the album only reached the Top 30 and 40 in the UK and US. Def Leppard's next studio album, Pyromania, was released in January 1983, with "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages" both topping the US Rock Tracks chart and reaching the Top 20 of the Hot 100. Reaching No. 2 on the US album chart, Pyromania was certified Diamond in the US and 7x platinum in Canada and reached the Top 20 in the UK but did not sell much elsewhere. Def Leppard's fourth album, the more pop-oriented Hysteria (1987), topped the UK, US, New Zealand, Canadian, Australian and Norway charts. It also went to No. 2 in Sweden and No. 10 in Germany without any Top 50 singles in those countries. It has been certified 12× platinum for sales in the US and 13x platinum in Canada, selling over 25 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album spawned six Top 20 US singles, including the US Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 "Love Bites" (went Top 10 in several other countries including No. 2 in NZ), alongside "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (US No. 2), "Hysteria", "Armageddon It" (No. 2 in NZ), "Animal" (at No. 6, the biggest UK hit), and "Rocket" (a Top 15 hit in many countries). Hysteria had four Top 10 hits in New Zealand. Their next studio album, Adrenalize (their first following the death of guitarist Steve Clark), reached No. 1 on the UK, US, NZ, Canadian and Australian charts in 1992, while going Top 10 in Sweden and Germany. It contained several hits, including the US Rock Tracks chart-topper, "Let's Get Rocked", which became their biggest hit in several countries, including No. 2 in the UK, No. 3 in Canada and Switzerland, and the Top 20 in Sweden and Germany. The third single, "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad", was a Top 15 song in the US, UK and Canada. Their 1993 album, Retro Active, contained the acoustic Top 5 North American hit "Two Steps Behind". Their greatest hits album Vault, released in 1995, featured the UK No. 2 hit "When Love & Hate Collide" and reached the Top 10 in several countries, going 5x platinum in the US. Beginning with Slang, Def Leppard released five albums between 1996 and 2008, with most usually reaching the Top 15 in several countries, including the UK, US and Canada. Their most recent album, self-titled, was released in 2015 and once again reached the Top 15 in several countries. As one of the world's best-selling music artists, Def Leppard have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and have two albums with RIAA diamond certification: Pyromania and Hysteria, making them one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling more than 10 million copies in the US. The band were ranked No. 31 in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" and ranked No. 70 in "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". Def Leppard were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. 🖤🖤🖤 Well, and I have the great honor of having in my discography five albums by this wonderful hard and heavy group. Four copies of the masterpiece Hysteria (1987), two remastered versions, a deluxe edition copy containing three CDs, and a deluxe remastered edition copy of the album Adrenalize (1992). 🖤🖤🖤 Hysteria is the fourth studio album by English rock band Def Leppard, released on 3 August 1987 through Mercury Records. It is Def Leppard's best-selling album to date, selling over 20 million copies worldwide, including 12 million in the US, and spawning seven hit singles. The album charted at number one on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. 🖤🖤🖤💯‼️

I love this video! It's like their way of giving a shout-out to the legendary artists and bands from back in the seventies who influenced them. I LOVED the clips of T.Rex too. ❤😊

....Uriah Heep in the 70's e.g. "Sunrise" the opening track of the Magician's Birthday album and indeed opening track of the 1973 Uriah Heep Live album.... known for their vocal harmonies and by some labelled as "the Beach Boys of heavy rock" a bit of an exaggeration but could well have also influenced the guys in Leppard along with the incredible Sweet (stuff like "Hell Raiser", "Teenage Rampage" etc is well etched in my brain), T Rex, etc, and of course not forgetting Mr Bowie, all incredible stuff.
I saw them last Saturday and they did this song ! Man they still blew me away! They still sound this good!! Best damn live show ive ever seen and ive seen alot !❤
OK, since I haven’t seen anybody comment about it, at 2:04 the player pictured is a guy named Charlie George. The video footage is from when his soccer club Arsenal won the English Football Association Cup (FA Cup for short) in 1971. Charlie was a local boy that always wanted to play for Arsenal when he grew up, and he eventually became a club icon when he scored the iconic goal that was shown later in the video. Arsenal were the underdogs against Liverpool and they were able to win the game with that in the final minutes of extra time/overtime. The goal itself was a textbook shot that couldn’t have come at a better time. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. There’s coffee and donuts in the foyer.
Yes, Michael Parkes, I'm here listening with you at the end of May, 2019 to one of the best bands to ever come out of Britain! And that is saying a lot! I don't know how old you are, but thanks to my older sister, I feel like a '60's child who enjoyed the "British Invasion" and spent my formidable years in the '70's enjoying the second "British Invasion" with all the Glam bands and great rock still coming from the British isles. Last night, I rang up Zappo's/Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas where Def Leppard will begin a residency in August and bought a ticket to celebrate my (dare I say?) 62nd birthday! It's a small venue which is ideal for me as I loathe crowds. There is also a possibility for a "meet and greet". I'm trying to patiently await an e-mail regarding that. I've never been to Las Vegas and have never wanted to go. My husband has tried for years to lure me there, but I've just never been interested. I think growing up in New Orleans may have had something to do with that. Anyway, only Def Leppard could get me to go somewhere I've never thought I would go. My husband of 25 years got home last night and I told him that I bought a ticket and would be going. He can only name one of their songs and I imagine you can guess what IT is. We lead relatively separate lives at this point. He did ask if he could join me on the trip. Rather a surprise, but okay. Anyway, I was able to get a stellar seat (not that I'll be in it much) very close to the stage. I've never seen them live before as I don't do well in arenas. All I know is when they play "Rocket", I'll be "on the satellite of love" and probably be thinking of little else. Except, of course, do I have a clear view of one Mr. Rick Allen? Then, all should be right in my world. All of my illnesses and pain will disappear - at least for the night. I realize we don't know one another from beans and I have told you much more than you wanted or needed to know, but we are both Def Leppard admirers (not keen on the word "fan") and I am thrilled to be able to share with someone that I'm going to finally see them live. Peace!
Hot damn, Joe Elliott is still hot as ish!! I have been crushing on him since I was 11 years old! Congratulations Def leppard for being inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame! It's about time!
Well I will always be listening to my favorite 80s band Def Leppard I have never been able to see them in concert but I know that they would be awesome like always they are so awesome and they are doing songs that you are able to hear all of the guys separately for most of their songs. 🖤🖤🖤💯‼️

Album Hysteria (1987)
On top of their game. Love this version of def. Steve looks nonchalant just in his own world. This takes me to space. Awesome!
Steve didn't give a shit about all the publicity stuff and wasn't fond of studio time. He preferred playing live.
Great can't wait to see you s in Australia
I saw them tonight in Sydney.
😊😊😊😊😊
This is my favorite Song. A huge "Thank You" from Germany, for your Music, it inspire so many People in the 80 ´ties.
I remember the day this World Premiered on MTV. Was very surprised they put out another single. Awesome.
The good ol’ days when MTV actually stood up to its name and played music.
My Fav Def Leppard Track!
Def Leppard is one of the best bands of the 80s and they're still Rockin😍😍
Ever, not just "80s".
I love this video! It's like their way of giving a shout-out to the legendary artists and bands from back in the seventies who influenced them. I LOVED the clips of T.Rex too. ❤😊
Awsomeness
One of my favs from them. Great tribute song and unabashed Beatle influences in the chorus
Just saw them live tonight in Sydney, Australia, and they were F**KNG AMAZING!!!
Didn't bother staying for Motley Crue.
My wife made me LOL yesterday I was singing ROCKET YEAH and she was like what the heck are you singing I told her only the greatest music to ever be created 😂

Love the band and their harmonies! No other band can Harmonize like these guys can..May be some others that come to mind but Def Leppard is first that comes to mind 🥰😽🙌
Damn Yankees?
Alice In Chains? Simon and Garfunkel?
....Uriah Heep in the 70's e.g.
This song is so well made, beautiful work on the lyrics and the melody
The Sweet was the greatest band from that 70’s glam rock band era, hands down.
I saw them last Saturday and they did this song ! Man they still blew me away! They still sound this good!! Best damn live show ive ever seen and ive seen alot !❤
One of the best drummers ever!!!
And has one arm
I would think it would be hard to drum let alone with one arm...amazing
Guitar! Drums!
Def Leppard turned me on to Bolan and Sweet. Thanks guys! Love you too, of course.
Joe Elliott had such a badass mullet!!
Ikr im fuckin jealous lol
This guy's hair is awesome. One of the best I've seen.

Peace!
