I want to play possession-based football, circulate the ball, and go for a quick attack when necessary. However, after the update, it’s almost impossible. As soon as the kickoff starts, it’s all about running, and I feel exhausted just watching it, as if I’m the one playing on the field. It’s not enjoyable at all. I understand that AI shouldn’t assist me in defense, but at least the defender I manually control should be effective. Defending has become impossible. I’m losing interest in the game. For context, I’m a Division 1 player in Seasons mode.
Before this patch, I thought EA had finally made a different soccer game compared to last year, but now it's similar to the previous year's game. If the defense is made to look stupid, the attack should also be made a little more manual, and the offside trap should still be returned to the way it was before the patch
They made attacking more fluid, tackle reach shorter, defender pace slower and defensive AI dumber. In other words EA turned defending off. The game was actually really enjoyable to play before this patch. Not so much now though.
@DeepResearcherFC2 I promise you, I wasn't one of those complaining. I was genuinely happy that "pace" didn't seem to be that much of a thing with this one like every one that had gone before. Then, poof, fifa became fifa again.
@gruevlock24 let's not over exaggerating. This fifa before the patch was more defensively minded or easier should I say. Pace wasn't the be all and end all like every fifa that went before. You actually had to work for it. Now it's back to the same old. play a ball through to a fast forward, burn the defender and score. That's what I mean. Borning. 10-8 score lines for some people. However, I will admit, having to manually defend switches the challenge from scoring to not conceding. So horses for courses I guess.
@@Pointmikecalibre attacking became much stronger, but you still have to think to attack, so you need to be purposely attacking and defending now, in comparison to the old patch were many people just left the defenders to be played by the AI while they locked on cam and attack players. Can't do that anymore, you have to play all the players now
Great video but who do we use to stop the forward pass ? CDM's or CM's or FB's or CB's ? I guess im trying to figure out how far out can the CM's go and not break their structure to defend the passes? I ask this because i don't know the fundamentals or basics of CM's or CAM's and CDM's on how much should i use them to stretch out the defense to defend passes?
A very helpful one, but i think you have to make a video on how to train defending skillers, opponents who tend to use skill moves and abuse them…but for now what do you recommend?

AI Offside trap is broken now, so we should do it manually

I sometimes use more of second man press inside the box if the opponent dribbles alot

Advanced defending is not mandatory so use tactical even some pro players use it
