My wife and I have been 'pinching pennies' the past several months, and then putting the saved money towards getting completely out of debt. We now only have $19,000 left on our house; and we expect to pay that off by March 2025. Then we will have no house payment, no car payments, no credit card bills, nothing! :)
I've been watching you for years and just love your channel. I'm the same way, very frugal and like to stay home. I spent 30 years working, now retired I can enjoy my home and my hobbies. I have a golden retriever that I adopted last year and she is my luxury. Having a pet is a commitment of time and money. I think your home is beautiful and love all your content. Thank you for your videos. Love from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
You renovated your home into a high quality, classic bungalow with an abundant garden. Love the fruit and nut trees, too! Heaven on Earth! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday young lady! I planted a fig tree, apple tree, grape tree/plant , Blueberry plant and two lemon trees this year. So far they are still alive 😬 I’m 65 and have always lived frugally. No mortgage, no car payment, work three days a week at Wallyworld, have three dogs that keep me company. I’m learning every day, even at my age, it’s so much fun, I do what I can. RUclips videos really help me. Thanks for being you ☺️
Glad I found your channel again. Because I watched you during covid, I made a plan. Doubled my garden, joined a co op food warehouse so food was only $50 per month. I started paying off my bills one at a time. Decided to sell my house and buy one I could pay cash for. Me & my husband fixed up our house its not perfect but we are comfortable grow food & meat. We live off 1,200 month. Life is so much better. We might be considered poor but really we feel rich. Thank you!!! Simple life is truly the best!
Wow it looks amazing…..I remember watching your very first night when you pulled the paneling off your bedroom. Great job. I love your videos. I really have learned so much😘😘😘😘
I came across your channel a few months ago. What a breath of fresh air it's been watching your videos😊 I'm 28, don't have kids, it's just me my dog and 2 cats. I'm content in my little apartment, with the job I have, and spending my free time outdoors exploring my town with my dog. In a world where taking out loans to have showy vehicles and boats and toys is normal and everyone aims to have kids, I've always felt like I'm not doing something right by not longing for all that. Thank you for sharing the parts of your life that you do. You've helped me accept my lifestyle more than I have in the past. Also, I've been seeing all the happy birthday comments on this video, so Happy Birthday!🎉 From the U.P.

Love, Love, this video. Purchased my house with cash in Cleveland. It was foreclosed and my neighbor looked at me like I was crazy and laughed. Now, I have one of the best houses on the street without a mortgage. I got the first cry and the last laugh.
Content. People asked in high school "what do you want to be" and I always said content. I am old but debt free, thanks to you and Dave Ramsey. My friends do not understand why my truck is 19 tears old and my countertops are tile. They never will.
I really like your home and what you've done with it. It's the perfect size for a single person and looks very peaceful. No clutter means less upkeep. I try to keep my stuff down to a bare minimum as well.
I applaud your tenacity and your brutal honesty! Contentment is 100% worth the common sense effort. Welcome to the club! I wish more people would "get it" while they're as young as you! 😊
This was a great video! When I was working full time I was surrounded by people who drove fine cars, went out to dinner all the time, constantly went clothes shopping, spent hundreds on concert tickets every month, hair and nails done all the time, expensive vacations every year, tons of Christmas presents, spend spend spend. They thought I was weird and told me I must not have thought well of myself and didn't feel I deserved it. Quite the opposite. When I retired EVERYBODY told me they were jealous and lamented they would never be able to retire because never get out of debt. I was in small debt once because I struggled as a single mom, but worked 2 jobs to get out of debt and keep up. Now I have everything I want in a simple life. So much luxurious time and freedom. Tight but able to live on social security. First time in my life I can be lazy and do what I want. Life is good!
In December 2016 I paid cash for my tiny 850 sq ft Arkansas fixer house, on a 1/4 acre after I saved & did not have a car for 4 years. I mostly bicycled, & had a motorcycle for longer trips. After buying the house I then bought a 1997 Toyota 4Runner, a 1996 International 4700 box truck, with a lift gate, & a 2013 Kawasaki KLR 650 adventure motorcycle with cash. Then an Arkansas feral bridal dog adopted me. I have more than I need, I shop at yard sales, & thrift stores. We are all temporarily on this earth. Own your stuff, & time, don’t let your stuff own you & your time. Enjoy a quality of life. 😊 I use to be international marketing & sales manager, so I got to travel. :-) I’m not done, but I enjoy my home & my dog. We have a lake 2 miles from my front door.
I like when you say "do what you can with what you got"! I sold a house in 2020,. My son and I bought a large house together for him, his wife and 4 kids. I had enough money to renovate the large garage into my home, complete with my own bathroom, laundry, and everything I need. I don't care about fancy vacations or flying anywhere. One bit of advice: Find a nice cemetary and make arrangements for your death someday, including a will, life insurance, etc. Just knowing all that is taken care of makes me feel at ease.
PP, You have learned to combine common sense-with intelligence and experience. Wonderful to hear and thanks for sharing! Also, you are a patient teacher☆☆
You are blessed - there is a old adage - "Sometimes a blessing comes through hard work" or " some people dont recognize a blessing because it comes as hard work"
Its been three years since I retired, and while inflation has made it challenging to maintain my lifestyle and even worse when I lived in the city, relocating to the countryside has helped to manage better, its lonely, as most of my friends and family are still in their routines but It's been easier to stretch my savings and hopefully, I won't outlive it.
I’m nearing retirement myself, and I had similar concerns. I started investing much later than most, and just relying on ETF compounding wasn’t cutting it for me. After working with a financial advisor, I managed to restructure my investments and am now on track to retire with around $4 million. If I hadn’t sought advice, I doubt I’d be as confident in my plan right now
I usually steer clear of recommending specific people because financial needs are so personal. But I can say that working with Emily Ava Milligan has made a world of difference for me. I noticed her strategies are tailored to fit personal goals and make sense for different needs. It might be worth exploring to see if her approach resonates with you.
Love it! Get a farm track number and earn additional money farming. You'd then qualify for grants (NOT LOANS) as an Urban Farmer. There is no acreage minimum. You can generate income from selling produce and nuts. You could explore adding other agriculture products over time. We are frugal, homesteaders as well moving onto more acreage to start our farm and mini campground where we'll Airbnb out a couple of cabins and offer tent camping seasonally. Been mortgage and debt free over 5 years.
Well yeah if you plan for 20-30 years, work 2-3 jobs you can pay cash for a starter home and then move up. But few people are smart enough or are willing to give up the things you’ve given up. You are blessed you had enough wisdom to know what you wanted and enough wisdom to know how to make it happen ❤
You remind me of how my mum was when I was growing up. She was a teacher and didn't have a second job, but we went on holidays for free because she would sign herself up to be a swimming instructor at the summer camp, grew her veggies, she was sewing and knitting very nice things for us to wear from nice fabrics and real wool she used to buy at discount prices (sometimes even made and sold couture dresses for colleagues and she was self taught) , she would buy fruit and veggies in the season when it was dirt cheap and made all kinds of juices, relishes and other preserved foods to last us through the year. She'd by a small amount of meat and split it into many small packets to add to her cooking more as a flavouring than anything else, which is actually a healthier diet and was very tasty. At one stage she had chooks but thankfully that didn't last. She didn't save money, but she made what she had stretch far while we never wanted for anything. She was the same as you about furnishing our place and rarely ever bought new furniture. People were giving away, or selling cheaply quality antiques to replace them with "flimsy expensive modern stuff" as she used to say. The only thing I wish she would have done differently is replacing our black and white TV that irreparably broke with another black and white, because it was so much cheaper than a colour TV, but I didn't tell her that, because she was working really hard on the whole "we are used to black and white and the colour is not that much better" mantra, lol. All this came in handy during hyperinflation in our country. She sometimes gave us a treat and took us for holidays in nice hotels, but only on winter discounts. She went to Paris to some conference and brought back two fur coats which she sold at profit and almost paid for the whole trip. Even later, when we came to Australia with almost nothing as refugees, she continued to live frugally and had no issues putting money away for whatever goal she had in mind. I think if she lived here in her most productive years and in those times of plenty, instead coming in her fifties, she would now be a reasonably wealthy woman, regardless of being a single parent since I was four.
I'm frugal too. I hate spending money on useless things. Shopping for fun is not in my DNA. Which is why I love videos like this!! This is free entertainment 😊
I've been watching for awhile now. In fact, when I started watching I went back to the very first video and binge watched ALL and I have to tell you this video is my FAVORITE so far. I'm actually going to rewatch again because of how inspirational and motivational it was for me. As I cooked my homemade bread in my sun oven today to go with my sweet potato that is in sun oven now and my steak that will be cooked on my rocket stove. Along with okra from the garden. This helps me to know I'm on the right track and I can do it. Finally got my bluetti that I'm going to run frig on tonight to see how it goes. Finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉
It took me a month but I went out trash picking a new subdivision and came back with enough matching roof shingles for my 1400 Sq foot house ( new) negotiated with roofer and reduced cost. Also got straw bales after Halloween for my garden ( free) So blessed
Happy, happy birthday🎈 ☕️ 🎉❤ I totally get what you're saying. People have a hard time believing that I'm content living in my one-bedroom, one bathroom house on Lake Michigan with my little dog. But if someone asked me what I wanted, I would ask for a new roof.... LOL😂 Enjoy some special coffee for your special day!
Thanks for the tour. Your floors look awesome! My dogs love eggplant. You inspired me to feed them real food instead of the expensive raw food I was buying.
Prepper, I wish I would I known this when I was younger. Spending like there was no tomorrow. Now I'm old and frugal . Adore you and all that you do. Puppies of course are adorable.
Your lifestyle is admirable. I also live simply while everyone around me drowns in debt. I own my house outright, bought a new car with cash, have minimal bills and beginning to grow a lot of my own food. Hopefully I've instilled some of these values in my children.
Happy Birthday 🎉🎂🥳🌟🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌷🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌹🌹🌹🌹🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸. I'm 73 and I hope to buy a RV like a tiny home in a park for $40k. Ive always bought fixer upper. I got a job at home Depot to learn how to do things. Have a beautiful birthday PP🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Thank you so much for this video. I'm in the process of moving and I was battling about getting a nice house that will strain me financially UT this video I believe guided me on what to do. Get something within my budget and I can try make it feel like home. I do t have to live above my means. Life is what you make of it
Happy Blessed Birthday! And I have to say you are rich beyond words in puppy love. They are so sweet and I can't think of a better source of happiness.
people say money won't bring happiness but having a nice pile of money will bring contentment and peace of mind which is a huge part of being happy. i'll take money in a brokerage account over a fancy house any day.
Friends and family think I'm odd, maybe so, but I'm frugal, creative and not afraid to do without what is usually considered necessary. I'm inspired and encouraged by your videos and your personal evolution. Thank you.
I have a 1-bed 1-bath house, lol. Was one of the best decisions my late husband & I ever made. I own it outright & I saved enough money to make some accessibility improvements without going into debt. The improvements are almost finished. I am disabled & I am loving the new LVP floors that are allowing me to actually "mop" my own floors with a Bona Mop with a reusable pad. I am physically unable to mop with traditional mops bc they require too much physical effort. All smart improvements to allow me to stay somewhat independent.
I have a 1 bed 1 bath cabin. While I do pay rent, it cost me nothing to have it built or to maintain it. So I consider myself better off as the owners are a wonderful Christian family who built it for me all brand new when I lost my lease that I had expected to have me set up for life.
I love your dining room with that built in cabinet. I have to much junk in my little one bedroom apt. I would live to live where you have all that food. I remember visiting a friend outside of Santa Rosa and you could just glean vegetables all over the place. It was so cool. I ate like royality there for free!
You have a long term plan, self discipline/frugal and intelligence/practicality in life which most people dont or just too lazy/complacent. I like the saying the harder you work the luckier you get. Contentment and gratitude are very rare nowadays.
I have a two millionaire friends who are very frugal. People think they both are extreme. You would never know they are millionaires. One is a bit more “extreme” than the other. But both are mad savers. I have some frugal ways myself. I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with it. Keep up the good work!
I bought 2 bed 2 bath based on 40 hrs straight pay 1997 not considering mandatory OT that was cut off on a whim. Paid off 2018 due to med issues using 401k. Didnt have to worry about place to stay when very ill. BONUS : had room to shelter extended family members as needed during their hard times. 1 or 2 at a time. Started little garden with peach tree, tomato and bell pepper plants. Not exactly what you did but it worked for me and fives me a level of security. Currently housing 2 adults (1 is me) and 4 dogs(2 are mine). My house is blessed!!! 😁😇🙏🏻❤
I so get it. My car is 22 years old and I bought it new. Always done alll the repairs it ever needed to it. My home is paid for and I garden also. My bills are 400 total . Plus I live out in the country so a deer or 2 winds up in the freezer.
Since you have so many oranges, here's something from an article in the December 2021 Better Homes & Gardens magazine (free from my library's magazine exchange shelf): " 'The peels have limonene oil that cuts through grease and conditions wood surfaces.' Yumiko's recipe: Peel of 1 orange for every 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil, then simmer 15 minutes. Let cool. Pour liquid into a spray bottle." I would have tried it myself, but I can't eat oranges--allergic to them 😒--and didn't want to buy them just for the peels.
I truly love for you that you are FREE! I have always said that "The more we own, the more owns US!" You are wise beyond your years, in my opinion! Further, your home is so nice! I also love how trends do not own you either! Classic and clean! You are an inspiration! Rock On!
Watermelon, eggplant, orange and a pecan tree wow that is awesome. That is a blessing. Thanks for all the information, old dog trying to learn new tricks. Thanks again
Hi from New Zealand. You are so amazing for a young woman and a real goal getter. Doing preparing for a sustainable life by yourself is not easy, I am so proud of all you have done. I love what you have done throughout your life, and your house and property is absolutely beautiful.
Your house is nice and looks comfortable. I think it is wonderful to be able to grow food in a yard & have fruit trees. I try on my roomy balcony in south Florida but the bugs & summer heat make it difficult. Plus all types of chunky lizards eat stuff even on the second floor.
🎉A Happy & Blessed Birthday🎉 I remember your video of when you moved to AZ. All these years you never let on that you were disappointed living there. So happy to see you are back in CA & loving your life there!❤
Prepper Princess, I have been watching your u tube program since January 2020. I love it. I could tell you that you were at peace & free when you showed went hiking in Arizona, around nature and when you were happy when you with Rocky. Seeing you like this, showed what was missing when you gave a program that didn't have either Rocky or hiking.
They have rolls on insulation at home depot that is like the silver bubble things for car windows. I use in summer and winter on my windows, cut by me to fit each window. Makes a huge difference!!!
Prepper Princess, good for you to be happy and satisfied on not much money. The fact that you feel this way shows an attitude of gratefulness and appreciation for all you have, and anyone can see your heart is filled with love for your babies and they love you back, so much, and ask very little in return. Dogs are such noble creatures, for the most part. Aren't we lucky to have them? ❤❤❤

@@elizabethbesco4758 that's so smart! You have saved alot of $$$$. Why spend fresh money if you can find it. 👍
Your home is beautiful.
Your content is practical and appreciated.
Be well!
You are living the best life. The piece of mind that comes from being debt- free is PRICELESS!!! Enjoy the fruits of your HARD labor.
Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊
Love your videos been a fan for years ! Sending blessings from Scotland xxx

Happy Birthday Prepper, hope you are having a BLESSED day!
The floors are gorgeous! You have done a great job with all the remodeling/fixing things up!
Gratitude is everything
You are an inspiration
Happy Birthday ❤️
Thank you so much for this video. I'm in the process of moving and I was battling about getting a nice house that will strain me financially UT this video I believe guided me on what to do. Get something within my budget and I can try make it feel like home. I do t have to live above my means. Life is what you make of it
Happy Blessed Birthday! And I have to say you are rich beyond words in puppy love. They are so sweet and I can't think of a better source of happiness.
Happy Birthday to you! Wishing you many more years of contentment!
Happy birthday,PP! You are an inspiration. 🎉
You live rich life, don't listen to people who live above their means and buy useless things!
I love the built in hutch and the quilt on your bed.
Great video! M9st people will not work as hard as you have to get a home. I admire you tenacity. 😊
Happy Birthday!!! 🥳🎂🥳 PP Princess 👑 I really enjoy 😉 your channel. Blessings! 🕊💛🕊
You have a lovely home and I appreciate your candor about your frugal lifestyle. I’m the same and believe it’s the best way to live.
people say money won't bring happiness but having a nice pile of money will bring contentment and peace of mind which is a huge part of being happy. i'll take money in a brokerage account over a fancy house any day.
I understand what you're saying. But, if you don't hold it, you don't own it. Perhaps a self directed account invested in something "physical"???
Friends and family think I'm odd, maybe so, but I'm frugal, creative and not afraid to do without what is usually considered necessary. I'm inspired and encouraged by your videos and your personal evolution. Thank you.
Happy Birthday! I love the simplicity of your home, and how you live!
I love the built in cabinets in the dining room and the quilt on your bed is pretty.
Your home is calm and peaceful ❤
You’re work ethic is so inspiring!!
You have a beautiful home! I'm most grateful that you share all your financial knowledge! Take Care
The 🏠 is beautiful. Great Job .
Happy Birthday! Here’s to many more years of living your best life!
I love your dining room with that built in cabinet. I have to much junk in my little one bedroom apt. I would live to live where you have all that food. I remember visiting a friend outside of Santa Rosa and you could just glean vegetables all over the place. It was so cool. I ate like royality there for free!
I love how minimalistic it looks!! No clutter! I’m working on mine. Saving money by know what I have and where it is.
I am so proud of myself. I made chicken soup with the left over rotisserie chicken in a crock pot like you shoeed us in a video.
Happy birthday Prepper Princess! ❤🎉
Well grounded lady. Commendable.
You have done an amazing job on your home renovations. I’m like you, don’t like to travel or eat out a restaurants. My dog Lucy keeps me active.
Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎈 Prepper Princess! We love you and are truly happy for you!!! You are a wise person, a gift from God!!! 🎉😊❤
Your house is nice and looks comfortable. I think it is wonderful to be able to grow food in a yard & have fruit trees. I try on my roomy balcony in south Florida but the bugs & summer heat make it difficult. Plus all types of chunky lizards eat stuff even on the second floor.
🎉A Happy & Blessed Birthday🎉
I remember your video of when you moved to AZ. All these years you never let on that you were disappointed living there. So happy to see you are back in CA & loving your life there!❤
I paid all my bills through the end of the year, not great like you but better than I used to be.
Prepper Princess,
I have been watching your u tube program since January 2020.
The dogs at the beginning!!!! They way they looked at you, tails wagging, melted my heart.
The floors look very nice.
You are great. I am watching you for quite some time and admire your common sense approach to life.
